    Again I don’t think they should make more than doctors but I will argue for a livable wage in today’s economy. Like in the 70,000 - 100,000 range is reasonable to me. A teacher shouldn’t have to also work at dominos or Walmart at night to support their families. Can we all agree that everyone’s jobs are important. We need welders we need doctors we need construction but we also need teachers. Ask any community that had teachers walk out what it’s like when teachers stop teaching. You don’t realize you need something till it’s gone.

    i'll do it again since  you ignored it last time

    babysitting = $10 dollars a hour X 30 kid = $300 per hour now most teachers teach 6-7 classes so i'll say 6 hours.
    300 per hour X 6 hours = 1,800 dollars a day.
    1,800 X 180 contract days = 324,000.
    I wish I was paid like a babysitter, now before you get all upset, I don't think teachers should get 300,000 a year. I do think they deserve more than 40,000 somewhere between 70-100. A teacher shouldn't have to work three jobs to make ends meet. This math was brought to you by my 3rd grade math teacher. The reading and writing comprehension from all my English teachers. Thank you.

    Every year cardinal backer says something along these lines. He is doing it on purpose to get attention. He won’t change his mind even when facts are presented with documentation. I believe last years insult to teachers was that all teachers are over paid baby sitters.
    Someone is lonely and just wants attention from people online.

    lol What are you talking about? I dont need an education to work a shut down or be a logger. I do happen to need one though to educate your kids and if you find a teacher who isnt working weekends then point me in the direction of that school that is that lax on planning. Now lets say I coach a sport or any other kind of activity. Well there goes those weekends and summers. from August till Christmas most coaches will work 7 days a week for a small stipend(thats just football, im not even counting spring sports). Considering a bunch of coaches and teachers are leaving to go work those shutdowns in the plants to make 2 to 3 times what they made as teachers and work less and not near as hard. I wouldnt call it a part time gig.. But hey buddy go get your degree and then student teach for a half a year unpaid and then take the state test which will cost you and then take your content test and become a teacher and work this part time gig. Their is a HUGE Teacher shortage and I would love for you to come step onto any of our campuses and show us what you got.

    Offshore oil rig workers work 6 months out of the year and make three times more than a teacher.
    Pretty good "part time" gig.

    I’d have to disagree with you. 40k and you take verbal abuse from students. Your grading papers after school. God forbid Little Susie failed a test and Momma Becky needs to speak to a teacher ASAP. It’s not fun trust me. They do it to try to create successful members of society.

    Are you assuming that these teachers are supporting their family on their teacher salary alone?  There is a likelihood that they also have a working spouse.

    You're wrong. Just because you run the "Spread" doesn't mean you you can't control the clock and the ball.
    Tarkington actually has kids built more for a multiple offense than they do the Slot-T.
    And Bass is a dang good coach and he will do what is best for the kids. This was a good hire and an expected hire. The PNG connection is solid.
