Lets just make this clear so we can move past all the dumb comments and actually talk about the game.... Lumberton is not seeking anyone's respect. We are trying support our guys and hope to build upon this success.. If you don't wanna support what we have going then that's fine, it's your decision. But it will not stop what we have going. At the same time, we are not disrespecting any program that has earned their spot.. Saying that we can beat a team is just being hopeful that we can and will... No, we do not have the legacy that PNG and Nederland has. I applaud y'all for what you have done in the past, and this year. I will be rooting for those teams along with Central in the playoffs.. We are not comparing our program to yalls based off of one year, if anything we in Lumberton would like to get to yalls level one day. But that has to start now.... So no disrespect towards any program. It's our goal to be able to compete year after year with the great programs we have in this district..... I feel we have a chance to win tomorrow, but not because Nederland is a bad team cause obviously that's not the case, but because it's high school football. I'm supporting my team and know that anything can happen on any Friday night... And although I think Vidor doesn't have a chance against PNG, I'm rooting for them to win only because it would make things more interesting for the championship race if we win too. But my gut is picking PNG and hoping that will catapult them into a deep playoff run!!! Good luck to all

I feel that a congrats is in order for lumberton making the playoffs, but respect is earned not givin. I know yall got a shot at nederland, like everyone else in dist. We could have lost some games. Note I said could have. Lumberton seems to be on the right track and only time will tell. Now you wanna talk trash to the king of the hill, that is great. But just be careful what you say cause its a hard struggle to eat those words. Just act like you have been there before. I still think the dogs gonna take this one, but if lumberton wins I will give props

Dayt gonna be the smallest school w/very little growth but we been the barking dog awhile,bit hard in 06/07 in GT.Smoked west of trinity while there too,man can/could Stewart coach.Beat Crosby like a tied up goat,now all Stews 7th graders are seniors.We're not as well coached these days,we still can score=same plays Stew instilled/tweaked,but no longer known for great defense but if you look hard @college level few of them play defense=O gets 5 qtrs play out of 4.Ever noticed Dayt doesn't sit on the benches=stand during games.Still dangerous,alot kiddos are in powerlifting,@ our meet less than 15 kids from Cent-Ozen-Ned come to compete

Proud thats true. Its there time now and hats off to them but PN-G and Nederland Lumberton and Central have all one a game that they were underdogs in. (no pun intended)!!! PNG made a living of it in the 1970's

It should be interesting in the first round. Sure 215a is the favorite in all games. I love it how they beat thay chest cause they are in the upswing of the cycle. When they are down and getting smoked first round, we can run our heads too. It's hard to talk much trash because they beat us. But that trend won't last forever

I think this will be a great game.  Having watched us play both, I'd like to pick NC.  My only issue is that Nederland has been there before. Can New Caney beat someone tough?  I know they've won 7 games, but their opponents were:
Wins - Diboll 4A (7-2) / Huffman 4A (5-4) / Porter (1-8) / Barbers Hill (4-5) / Humble (3-6) / Galena Park (2-7) / Kingwood Park (2-7)
Losses - CE King (8-1) / Crosby (9-0) / Dayton (6-3)
 
Take out the two 4A teams they beat and the combined record of their wins is 12-33.  Versus quality opponents they are 0-3.  Don't get me wrong, I think NC is a good, well coached team.  I hope they win for 21-5A, but its a tough call for me vs an opponent that won't be intimidated by the playoff atmosphere.

Nederland has trouble with multiple threat speed teams in my opinion. A running QB that has good backs and a WR weapon gives us fits. I think GCM has the overall speed edge and for some reason they don't have the miscues against the Dogs that they seem to have vs. other teams. It's all about match ups. Even if we escaped with a win tonight, I feel it would have been a bit lucky. I thought GCM outplayed us in every phase of the game except kicking. We were extremely flat as well. Credit to the GCM players and coaching staff for a well played ballgame. Keep your head up, Dogs. You are never as good or as bad as your last ballgame.

This game is very winnable by Lumberton by all means. As good as my Dogs can be, they can be as bad as well. If you watched the game as I do, from being there and video of it we are very beatable. I believe in our heart that we would win, but won't be surprised if we don't. If they do their homework they win, because what is seen doesn't change. I feel that is also the reason we don't advance far in playoff, tape don't lie if Lumberton look they should know what to do. All in all this the type football games you want to see, hope all players come out injury free and respect each other. After all when the last whistle blows we have some 21-5A butts to get ready for.

Nothing against Lumberton because I'd say this about any of our district teams playing Ned after they got beat by GCM. I see Ned taking this one by a couple scores.   After the loss to GCM, Ned will come back with some inspired football and will be way to much for the L-train.

Welp, I bet Nederland is really excited about snapshot numbers GCM turned in so they can go back on another undefeated district run. Nice win for GCM and it is a bit of of head scratcher to how they play so bad against everyone else.

Who cares!!!!  It's GCMs night finally to celebrate some thing no one else can do for the past 2 years.   Congrats GCM!!!!

Most people see this game and team from their kids perspective not the team. I feel this is a problem because all the kids read this. The coaches read it and don't care what everyone thinks. It's when the kids read it and know their parents and friends parents screen names. Chances are that the parent has bashed the coach at home way more than on the board. This causes the kid to not trust the coach. When this happens, the kids won't play hard for someone they don't trust. I'm not saying agree with every decision the coach makes, but use it as a tool to help your child. This old world is a cruel hard place to survive. If they get screwed over or lose a game because of the coach, there is a huge life lesson to learn in this. It is up to the parent to teach their kid that sometimes life isn't fair and yoi have to overcome that. It is easy to bash the coach or decision maker and call them stupid. What does that teach our kids. These coaches spend a lot of time preparing. The head coaches make pretty good money, but asst coaches don't. Parents need to be parents and raise their kids. I would hope that your child will grow up to be a better person when taught how to deal with adversity

Dang, congrats on a big district sweep 21-5a. Sounds like you got it all wrapped up. Gonna represent 225a at the title game also. But hey, anything can happen. That is why we play the game. I don't care who we draw first round. We may get beat, but you are gonna damn sure know we were there. I love the superior attitude. Reminds me of when yalls dist was not very good. I do have to say I liked it better then. Kinda sucks now but we will be there

Jridge, I agree. With all the coaches, there are gonna be terrible ones. I know a bunch of them too. They should have thick skin and take criticism but they don't always do that. Coaches are just a representative slice of the overall population. Good, bad, fat, skinny, smart, stupid.  The list goes on. My deal will to try and have my kids adjust to deal with these kinds of people. Although I don't like it, it is life in the world. If you learn that earlier in life, you will end up better for it. And the coach is gonna have to answer if he wrongs a kid on purpose. May not answer in this world, but will answer nevertheless. If we can teach our kids to be successful in spite of the people around them, then they will be alright.
