I'll just say this. It took Stew few years to get Dayton really going. If I remember right, Dayton only got out of the first round once their first five years under him.(?) Riordan hasn't lost a first round game yet and is averaging over 10 wins a season his first few years on the job, an average that should get even higher after this year. He's actually off to a better start than Stewart. I think there's a new crop of good young coaches around the state and Crosby just happens to have one of them. We'll see how long it last though.

I actually think he was utilized too much. He played qb, rb, wr, c, and kr in the games I've seen. Maybe develop more playmakers so they don't go both ways so much. I hear you saying Dayton will run it, but how will you stop it?

Just mixin' it up a little cause I'd love nothing more than to see the horseshoes out of the mix. I may have to invest in some Spartan, yellow jacket, 2 Eagles, A wildcat, and some Panther gear!!

There are PNG fans I could do without as well.  In other news there are people in real life that I like and don't like.
I'm probably on the not so much side and that is ok too.

Was it a complete failure?  No and you know that.
Was there a sense of failure in those boys and coaches eyes coming one game shy, yes.
Play with the words all you want AWA sometimes you don't reach your goal but you had many successes on the way to that goal.  Don't change the goal and you sure don't lay down when it is time strive for that goal again.
BTW I don't speak for any other poster regardless of your feelings for them.  And I certainly don't tell them what to say or think.

I was talking about the last time PNG won a title. Otherwise I would've made the comment; "With your last 40 years of tradition you've only advanced one game further than Crosby". Not very becoming when it's said that way.
I'm sure you're significantly older than me and my parents are still alive, so yes you're dealing with their child.

Crosby used to have major coaching issues through the 90's and early 2k's. Starting when we hired Haynes, followed up by Flannigan and Riordan the program really has been on the upswing. The former administrations weren't really into athletics and the programs suffered at times because of it.
While 79-39 isn't anything to really boast about, it's still 40 games over .500 and an 8-4 yearly average. I would be interested to see who ranks above that other than Dayton and maybe Ned?
I think as it sits currently though, Crosby is one of the premier 5A jobs in the state. When you consider the current success, level of athletes produced on a yearly basis, rapidly growing enrollment, administrative support and the amount of money Crosby can pay by being a single high school district I believe the program is set up for long term success.
I expect us to eventually lose Riordan to a college job but I don't think it will correlate with a drop-off on the field. I'm confident his successor will be more than capable with the applications Dr. Moore will be able to choose from.

I can't wait to watch Raelon at UTAH.  I think he will end up being drafted in the first 3 rounds if he stays healthy.

I thik the Old Coach is getting a little senile. GCM has 14 returning starters and possibly the most athletic backfield in the district with 6' 4" 320 lbs #77 "Big Diesel" serving up pancakes and paving the road for them. The defense was very porous last year but with 8 returning starters they should at least improve some. No way they end up in last place unless they have injuries to numerous key players. They'll be in the running for a playoff spot this year.

The Old Coach FNF Magazine Predictions:
    1. Port Neches-Groves
    2. Beaumont Central
    3. Nederland
    4. Beaumont Ozen
    5. Vidor
    6. Lumberton
    7. Baytown Lee
    8. Baytown Goose Creek Memorial
I think they're sleeping on Memorial. With the lack of defense being played in that district right now and GCM having the top returning rb I think they have just a good a shot as any to get in and maybe even win the district.

Other recruiters "kept it real" when they didn't offer. If seeing the probable reasons in text is "negative" then you would probably file suit for slander when you hear what recruiters say about kids behind closed doors.
Recruiting is a dirty game. If a recruiter says he's interested in your kid but has offered several kids at the same position before yours, you can bet he's probably lying right to your face but there's parents who will take that and run with it not knowing any better. It's hard for the average high school fan to really know what they're looking at when it comes to playing at the next level, especially when you're close to the player.
A prime example would be the debate that would be happening right now if DSC was still at WOS. The would be people arguing that Morse is the better qb. Same thing with Tony Brown and people saying he wasn't that good, they just didn't realize what they were looking at. Lamar would be a bigger get for the program than it would be for Morse, which is why I said they'll be lucky to hold on to him.

You guys play 1 game that is not on a Friday night. Sept. 26 at Galena Park. I chose to see a better game that night (WO-S vs. Richmond Foster).
All my Friday nights but 1 are for my broadcasts of Silsbee games. Will not be broadcasting Silsbee at Coldspring on Sept. 4 but instead broadcasting Shepherd at Kountze on that night. Crosby is off the same week as Silsbee (Oct. 9). So my choices of taking in a Crosby regular season game were slim to none.
But I, like all Crosby fans, expect to see them at NRG in mid December winning a state championship. Otherwise, it's a waste of time and season.

Agreed... I dont think She has a clue to what the post means....... I think that Lamar is one of the REAL offers he could make a positive impact at. Recruiters are looking for tools.. Size, Height, speed, vertical, shuttle, etc. If a kid has all the tools, they feel they can train him to be a player.. As in the Tony Brown case. He has all the tools to be a stud. He just needs the coaching and experience to turn into a Beast. Thats the prime reason you see the CAMP kids that get offers from nowhere. Because tool wise, they have them. In High School. HEART. can get you on the All State team. But in college it will not. You might see a legit 4.5 guy in High school 5 or 6 times a year. Linebackers run 4.5 in college. Its a sped up version, and only the athletes with the tools have the capability of succeeding. Now dont get me wrong, there might be a few that get by, but the majority is a certain TYPE of Athlete. And it is definately dog eat dog.. At the lower levels, you will see the athletes with less of a tool level recruited. I see Lamar as a program that has the capability to compete in the conference. I have watched a few of their games and I think a kid Like AM can succeed at that level with more experience and coaching. As I stated before, I would never knock a kid for getting a education.  And honestly I have not seen any post on this subject that is knocking him. Sometimes keeping it real hurts peoples feelings. But Im pretty sure thats all part of this thing that we call LIFE. As I stated before, I think if AM has a good senior season, he can establish himself as a top 10 QB in PN-G history..... But at the end of the day you cannot teach, size, speed, etc..... I think LAMAR is a perfect fit..............

Congrats to 2018 RB Craig Williams. Was just ranked the #3 overall prospect in the state, #3 overall APB in the country, #28 overall prospect in the country. Williams becomes Crosby's first 5 star prospect on record:
