ASISEEIT14 reacted to Englebert in Congressmen to Be Packing?
I would vote no on the Bill. The reason, and I would shout it from the rooftops, is that I don't feel Congressmen should be carving out special privileges for themselves. We have enough of that already. If they feel a gun will protect them, then that logic should extend to the common people also. What's good for the goose... I think everyone should be afforded their 2nd amendment rights, not just a privileged few, therefore the Bill should allow everyone to carry guns.

ASISEEIT14 reacted to Peppermint Patty in NCAA Baseball Regionals
In the end Texas was the team we knew they were.
Solid pitching.
Can't hit.
Hopefully Pierce can weed out more of those poor approaches at the plate.

Can't wait for it to get started. Haven't heard anything about the teams as far as predictions or strengths. I don't have any boys in it any more but I can't let it go.

I don't know about all that.....But I can say, I'm a 3rd generation immigrant...legal immigrant that is. My Grandfather came here and worked as a brick mason, raised 5 children and then soon to be disable grandmother....needless to say pretty dang poor.
For the most part all 5 children, the 4 boys anyway went to work in the oilfield AFTER serving in the military (not a single college educated one among them) and raised the level of living for my generation of brother, sisters and cousins.
Today, in my generation we are a cross section of retired Marine Officers, Brain surgeons, Engineering, and nurses, with anywhere from no college education to umpteen years of med school......
ONLY 3 generations.......the main reason I see this success in my own family is as follows:
1) Faith
2) Family values
3) Belief in education
4) Love of country
5) Hard work
I can't accept it when a family or an individual in this GREAT country says things like, it's not fair...we were to poor......it is the fairest country in the entire world, it has more opportunity for the poor than any other country in the entire world.......it's ALL about choices...and choices have consequences...effort has consequences....

ASISEEIT14 reacted to jimmyw in Which one is better a good coach or a talented team? You have to pick one.
Long time ago, someone asked what a great coach was? Someone replied ,Bear Bryant because he can take his team and beat yours and the next week take your team and beat his team. Good coaches seem to make fair athletes become good athletes ,good athletes become college material. good coaches seem to get the most out of what they have and know how to use them.JMO

How many D1 players has Neumann had at Nederland in his 20+ years?
You can win a lot of district games and some early round playoff games with great coaching. Once you get into the 3rd round plus you need great players.

ASISEEIT14 reacted to oldschool2 in HD vs WH
No body is saying you guys are lacking loyalty. Trust me...I know that you HD fans love your HD history. All I'm saying is that those days are long gone and will never be back. That's my opinion. Take it how you wish.
I think it's mighty ironic that you guys use HD's all time winning percentage...and these other schools' all time losing % in the same sentence. Because these same schools that are historically the worst teams in the state account for a huge portion of HD's all time wins. So to me...it's irrelevant that HD has historically won so many games. How many of those wins came from High Island, Chester, Sabine Pass, Hardin, West Hardin, and Kountze? I know you can't help who you play...but you guys talk a lot about how much you win, and how much the teams you guys play are terrible.. So...I've come to the conclusion that historically HD has amassed a huge number of wins against teams that cant beat anybody.
