That is a very good post. I can respect that. Believe it or not I so know what you're saying. I know that there are several low income areas down here, and that there is very little expansion or new business. I also know that oil companies swindled mineral rights away from land owners generations ago. I do know most kids in other areas of the state probably have never seen a FEMA trailer nor had to evacuate for a hurricane. And I have more respect for coaches and educators than any profession in the world. I defend coaches on this site all the time. I believe that there wouldn't be doctors and engineers without teachers.

But I also believe that there has to be a way. We live in a country where things can be changed simply by the will of the people. Me personally .. I am not ok with these kids accepting something simply because "our school is poor". I think out society doesn't need any help being ok with mediocrity. The kids going to school in this part of the state deserve a fair shake at competing in life as anyone else. And that's the message that has to be sent. How can kids in Orangefield compete with kids at Katy? Or any other prominent area in the state. And don't say they don't have to. All trying to get into same college, get same job, buy same house.

You won't be a Lone Ranger. Rogers is good. I'm still undecided on who I think wins this one. I agree tho probably will be close.

Some good players in D2 and D3.

I'm not saying he's not good enough...I'm just saying don't assume he can go play even if not good enough for a D1 spot or scholarship.

This year you guys actually started a thread saying 4 teams was a joke and had no reason to have that many teams in the playoffs. Almost every person on this site agreed with it. But I'm a fool.

Well then according to the NCAA she is better than anyone else in the area.

I don't care what their ranked.. I said that because I believe they're better. HJ had a pretty rough time with an Orangefield team that everyone's been so high on all year...that turned out to be just another setx hero. That same team got it handed to them by this same LaGrange team just this week. LaGrange held Orangefield to 7 points and they run the same exact offense. And run it just as good. Plus the most recent good opponent HJ played they got beat by 3 scores.

That's what makes me say that.

But I don't know if LaMarque can get them either. But I think LaGrange will if not. Round 3 and 4 starts getting into teams a little too far out of the area.

An area becomes an affluent area, 1/2 million dollar homes start popping up, jobs are created, money moves in, tax base goes up, schools become wealthy and facilities get better, which attracts more people, school starts winning because it is attracting the kind of kid that spends all summer at camps and trainings....

You don't "give away" 7 touchdowns (so far). And the decision to try 1 field goal will not be the difference in blowout and close game.

But I can say this..how is it that you can say one of the best players was on the JV. Based on what?..how she did against JV teams? And putting a "mediocre" jr on JV. Ever think about this..maybe the coach didn't want a bad jr taking minutes away from younger kids who could get better. That's what I would do. If you're a jr or sr and still bad enough to be put on JV...it's too late. You're going on the varsity bench and not taking anyone's minutes.

Keep ridiculing the coach tho.. That will make things better.

No one will ever admit "maybe we're not winning because we're not that good"
