You mean like Ozen???  I seem to remember them going to Lufkin last year for the SQT.  They must have had a rich, city slicker, uncle take care of all expenses for them.  :)  If you don't like 7v7, then say you don't like it.  But don't make sad excuses why poor lil johnny can't make it to a tournament.  Nobody is buying that bull.

Celina, Southlake, Lake Travis, Gilmer, Refugio, Mart?, Cedar Hill.....there may be more and maybe some didn't win 7v7 championship but they definitely played deep in the tourney.....that argument is not a good one.  Lets look and see how many football state champions don't do 7v7.

HMMMMM....I can assure you the parents of H-D have more than the inner city school I worked at and we played in a Thursday night league ($300/team), 4 SQT's, The State 7v7 (2 days so add hotel room), a national 7v7 in Tennessee, and 3 non-SQT tournaments.  The kids started raising money early spring and we hit the streets seeking sponsors.  If you want it to happen, it can happen.  Just takes a coordinated effort and it has to be important.  I have heard coaches say they don't do 7v7 because it isn't real football or whatever reason.  To me that is just saying "I don't want to work to make this happen."  Have a nice day.

If you guys are trying to compete in State 7on7, it's equally expensive for all who participate; furthermore it's a separate entity from HS football & is paid for by parents of kids participating so I don't see the gripe. I suggest you guys get your pennies saved up or get to fundraising. Whining isn't allowed in 7 on 7 either. To the smart guy talking about " not talking about scrimmage". This was a suggestion for you to save money. I hope you aren't the "small school" representative. Sheeeez some people

Every year, someone claims that such and such guarantees 4 or 5 years.  And every year it is explained that it is wrong.  If you continue to progress, keep your nose clean, stay eligible, etc, they are not going to take you off scholarship.  But if you don't fulfill your end of bargain, your "contract" will not be renewed.  It is an annual renewal but it's never talked about, unless it needs to be.

QB will not be better than PNG and our WR core wll be outstanding only 1 left and adding a super prospect in McZeal.... You now so very little of PNG and it shows every post you have made recently makes the eyes roll. Last year I admit I admired your team and look forward to watching the twins at Rice from time to time. The thing about that though means they are gone from Crosbt and that hurts.

Raiders will be over .500 for the season.  It's just a prediction but I'll go out on a limb and say they will also make the playoffs.  At the end of this season, I believe it will look similar to what PNG and HJ did in their respective districts last season.  Now, go ahead and rip it to shreds.  They could use some fresh bulletin board material.  ;)

I agree with that prediction.  PNG and Dayton will both be good this year and should easily take care of Crosby.

A lot of people don't realize the time and effort these kids put in by themselves when everybody else is sleeping. The summer months allow certain players to play against other major D1 players who been putting in the same work. High school allows these kids to play in different systems. High school gives the kids more (team) gym team. Both are a benefit.

I disagree, you do get better in HS in the right programs. Too often we discount our HS Coaches. Just like anything in life you have to take the good with the bad. Why is it when it comes to Basketball we think the players don't get better playing for their HS teams? Kids play other sports in HS do we pass the same judgement? If your kid isn't putting in the extra work on his/her own they won't get much better. I can guarantee Alexis put in tons of extra work to get looks from D1 schools as a MS athlete. Bottom line, don't expect the HS Coach to work miracles when your Child isn't seeking Miracles. JMO

I must ask, where did this outrageous, misinterpreted, and obviously misdirected comment come from? I mean no one is asking for respect of their programs, respect is earned. Most importantly no one's (quote) "Bitching", and your agressive tone is definetly not needed. Nederland has done their thing year in and year out in all sports, which makes them what some would say a power house in 20-4a. With that being known and said, no one is going to take a backseat to anyone in the district, regardless of any past accomplishments! The games are played between the lines and you have definitely crossed it with your hostle remark. Let the kids play and the results speak because it sounds better when they do it! IJS

Scrimmages are just that - controlled practice. Coaches try different pitchers and play players at different positions. Scores do not mean anything. Evadale is not a slack 1A, as they make the playoffs and routinely get past the first round. Wish Lumberton the best of luck this year and we appreciated the opportunity.

So the idea behind high school football is to get a handfull of athletes to the next level, that's it, the hell with TEAM WORK. It's the ME FIRST mentality that keeps alot of these schools from having a good program that helps ALL the kids develope into responsible adults. This whole conversation is "BS", 99% of these kids won't play college football, but you think the program should be there to help the 1% that might have the tools to make it playing college football, the school doesn't owe you anything, you play because you want to.

A stronger Lumberton means a stronger district and that would benefit all of us. Lets hope that carries over to Varsity.

I watched this young man develope through the years as one of my little league running backs who showed talent early on. He is one of the most hardest workers I've seen! Give him the opportunity and he will make the most of it and he can do it on both sides of the ball!

Thanks for your kind words. I was raised to give an 'Honest day of work & expect an Honest day of pay."   We have high standards & expectations for our kids, but at the same time, we  do not attempt to shield them from or make excuses for them.  This has truly been a blessing for Rodney. This has shown him that LIFE isn't Fair, but you can't quit or go around complaining at every chance you get.   I'm Hard, but i'm Fair, most who meet me know i'm not about B.S and don't entertain it.  I give Respect, therefore I receive Respect.  We were placed here to Glorify God & help each other. We teach our children these principals so they can incorporate it in their lives & the lives of others they meet. We don't always do or say the right things, but the good intentions are always present.  Count your Blessings, Repent & thank God for Grace & Mercy, because it Sustains us ALL.   You got me started rc2182,  I'm done now    Lol
