Peppermint Patty got a reaction from UTfanatic in Strong Coaching Pedigree
Seems like a good $2,500 investment.
However, I'd rather sign up to attend the aggie National Championship game. Now THERE"S a fantasy.

None. The Good Ol' Boy Network does not pass judgement on their members.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Big girl in Season Ends for Emporia State
http://www.esuhornets.com/news/2014/5/18/BB_0518142215.aspx
This was by far the toughest baseball season in a while. Even the last year at UH, which was miserable in a completely different way, was not so bad. One of the main reasons we went with UH was the proximity to home. Our family would be able to see 30 home games every year, That was going to be awesome. Then, Price was released after his injury and was thankfully given a second chance at Emporia St in Kansas. We knew that we would not see as many games in person. It would just not be possible.
In January, just as the season started, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went to as many games as she could before her surgery in March. (She had her first chemo treatment last week). We have followed every game thanks to the internet. What a blessing live scoring has been.
We are ready for next year, but it's looking like it could be our last one as baseball parents. What a wonderful ride this has been.
Thanks to all of you on SETX Sports for putting up with me over the years. This site has provided me with an outlet when things have been rough especially these past few months. God or bad, I enjoy "talking" with you all.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Big girl in Big Blue Nation!
"One and done" is terrible for NCAA athletics.
I do not know why all NCAA regulated athletics do not follow the same rules. Make them go to school at least 3 years. If not, then let the pro teams have them out of high school.
I hope these young men get their degrees. THAT'S why you go to college in the first place.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Famous Jameis
Well, you see, at FSU evidently they don't have to pay for too much.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Gladtobehere in All District picks
It would be faster to list who DID NOT make the team.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Gladtobehere in All District picks
It's just a rule of thumb to not announce the selections until all the teams in your district have completed their season. They probably do so to avoid all the distractions that usually accompany those picks. Keeps your focus on the field.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Ty Cobb in Overuse of young pitchers fueling MLBs "Tommy John" surgery problems
Select baseball provides an easy target. I would bet that Nolan Ryan pithced more innings in his career that most of these young pitchers do today. It was not uncommon for a pitcher to throw both ends of a double header way back when,
It's more about conditioning and proper mechanics.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Amphibious Rodent in End of the Student athlete?
You're being gullible if you think the majority of these student (loosely used) athletes are going to school to learn.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from BellBiz30 in GCM vs Tomball Memorial
GCM advances 2-1
GM 1: 4-2 Tomball Memorial
GM 2: 11-10 GCM
GM 3: 9-1 GCM
Deepest playoff run since 2011 for the Patriots.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from TROJANSWIN in *2014 NFL draft round 1 thread*
Might be his only option in the NFL. Don't really care what he does, as long as it's not in Houston.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Ty Cobb in David Suggs just named HC at Ozen!!!
The
The game does not "pass you by". You can either coach or you can't. The problem often times is not on the field, its what happens at home and around the table that keeps coaches from being successful.

Only has to sit 2 weeks.

Peppermint Patty got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Kenny Hill or Kyle Allen?
Kyle Allen. Sumlin's offense is not designed for the QB to run (see Case Keenum). Allen has a big time arm and will do very well in that system.

It is my understanding that the leading choice to be the new head football coach at Austin Westlake is John Walsh of Denton Guyer.
