jv_coach got a reaction from 77 in this is a crisis of Obama’s own making just to force immigration reform
The “progressive” establishment was pushing hard for a vote on immigration reform to take place this summer with a bill passed before the election. And, lo and behold, all of a suddenly thousands of children from Central America decided to come here (all by themselves) and Mexico is complicit in letting them travel here.
You cannot tell me that this was not all orchestrated. In Central America countries there is a propaganda campaign taking place in the media that is telling these children to come to the United States. Leftists in our nation are providing the transportation for them to  get here. Once they are here they are being transported to military bases all over the country for support and housing. I am sure the rank and file on these bases love being host of illegals. What will be next, medial treatment for illegals by the VA?
The word is out in Central and South America that Obama is not going to enforce immigration laws and those that come here will get  free benefits. So why not jump on the “progressive” gravy trains and planes heading north? Obama also plans to let many illegals out of prison so they can also trash our country. All this is a crisis of Obama’s own making just to force immigration reform on Congress.
There is now an ongoing invasion of America from the south and our federal government helps make it happen. They will continue to bring violent drug gangs into our cities. They will continue to suck us dry economically. Terrorism, crime, and disease will come across the border with these people. Then these people will vote for the radical left to keep tyrants in power to oppress the Americans that were born here or earned their citizenship. Many of the teenage thugs coming here are not even respectful of Americans. It is like they think that America owes them a living.
Most Americans now waste their life watching staged reality TV shows, playing video games, texting triva on email and networking sites, altering their minds with chemicals, and mentally or physically acting out sex, while a real Satanic reality show that includes all of the above transforms this once prosperous and once mostly decent nation into a Satanic hell hole.
The President of America actually is a domestic enemy of America and he is bringing about the destruction of America anyway that he can and Americans do nothing about it. This would be unbelievable if it were not true.
Do people in America really think that changing a few votes is going to stop the lawlessness of this evil administration? There is more going on here than the agenda of just one evil man. Evil spiritual forces have infiltrated eduction, government, media, politics, economics, and even our churches. They intend to destroy all Judeo-Christian morality in this nation. They intend to keep evil people in power and they are on the brink of victory, because once good men, have allowed their families to be subverted and perverted by satanic influenced social engineers. Rather than getting out of their comfort zone to oppose this demonic agenda coming from the Radical Left they just go with the flow.

Don't worry.  Just as he was originally, the President ( who found out about this in the newspapers just like the rest of us) will be outraged and will have another investigation into the matter.  All is well.

And if you can show me any legal precedent that says only people belonging to hate groups can be struck from juries and I will say that you are on to something.

I have sat on juries and testified in many trials. I have seen people struck and seen the defense attorney contest strikes based on race (Batson strike). In one jury pool the DA had three strikes that were contested. The DA countered that one had a spouse had been convicted of the same crime (I think it was DWI) so the potential juror might be prejudiced against the police (making for an unfair jury), one had been involved in a lawsuit based on the same crime from injuries and I don't remember the other reasoning but the judge ruled that all strikes were fair based on cause and not on race.

A jury is supposed to be fair for both sides and the people serving need to go in with as much of an open mind as possible. In this case a woman is posting material on how to survive while driving black (The Negro Motorist Green Book). To me that appears that she believes that she might be targeted based on race and is even posting survival tips on how to stay away from cops. It doesn't even matter if she is correct, it a preconceived perception (prejudice) that is the problem. Nothing in that article that hippy posted or the others that I have read said that she was struck due to being an NAACP member. He also never claimed she was some kind of supremacist.

I read several articles on this issue and found this as his statement... "It's not because of race. It's because in part she appeared to be an activist, and that's what we don't want. Just as if she was white, we wouldn't want a white activist or a white supremacist." The DA said that she appears to be an "activist", not a "supremacist" or "racist". Looking at her postings, she might very well be an activist for a cause.

I see nothing wrong with his statement.

So I will ask this, what if  the defendant was black as in this case and there was a prospective white juror that was not the member of any hate group. But maybe he had postings he had made on how to survive while being white in a minority neighborhood and had posted The Turner Diaries, just as this woman posted the book about black survival while traveling (published until the early 1960's)? The Turner Diaries was a novel written by a white separatist. Would you want this person sitting in judgment of a family member? Remember that he belongs to no group and just posts thoughts.

Remember that the DA is an elected official and wanted to quickly stop something that might cost votes. That makes his firing political. That might even be within the law as an at will employee but let's call it what it is. I suspect that if a black assistant DA that made the same or similar statements and was fired, we would be seeing an opposite response.

This stuff has gone too far. One must walk on eggshells anymore or they must simply not speak because somebody, somewhere, in some way, will be offended by it. I don't like Kobe Bryant and I am sure somebody will turn that into racial hatred when it has nothing whatsoever to do with it.

    Thoughts?

I think it's ridiculous. He claimed he would do the same for either race.....

This is one reason hatred on both sides continues.....Two people cannot have different views and get along.......

A Central Texas prosecutor has been fired for comments he made in dismissing a prospective juror who was a member of the NAACP, comparing the juror's membership to white supremacy.

Travis County prosecutor Steve Brand made the comments last month during jury selection for a robbery trial. Transcripts show he rejected the juror because she was an "activist" and had posted on her Facebook page a link to "The Negro Motorist Green Book," a guide to safe travel for African-Americans in the Jim Crow era.

The Austin American-Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1hLH3gu ) Brand said he would take the same approach with a white juror because "we wouldn't want a white activist or a white supremacist."
Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg says the comments were racially insensitive.

Brand's lawyer, Tom Nesbitt, described Lehmberg's punishment as "bizarre."

How about this:  obama follows the teaching of that infamous community organizer, Saul Alinsky (Hillary Rodman Clinton worships at the same alter).  Ol' Saul wrote the liberal's Bible, Rules For Radicals.  He dedicated this book to the original community agitator -- Lucifer.  NOW you've heard it all.     ;)

But our friends on the left honestly believe that the profit motive is evil and that the primary reason companies go into business should be to provide jobs and break even.  Best example of that flawed thinking is British Petroleum.  They have  paid out billions in damages ( mostly from profits)  If they hadn't made a profit, the government would institute another bailout which ultimately winds up coming out of our pockets and our childrens pockets and their childrens pockets, etc etc etc

jv_coach reacted to NorthoftheBorder in Is it biblical to ask Jesus into your heart?
A huge hurdle for people to come to a saving faith is in fact the true nature of God!!  It is no doubt evident by scripture that God is a choosing God!  He chooses people for specific purposes to do His specifice will. Scripture is clear on that and two great examples are John the Baptist and the Apostle Paul (not to mention Abraham, Noah, Moses or King David)!!  The debate over Calvanism/Armenianism is difficult and which side of the debate you fall on is irrelevant to whether you are truly saved.  Believing in Calvanism does not save you anymore than believing in Armenianism!!  Holding either position does not save you!! But back to the point in hand.  My take on all this is we have all seen numerous poeple who have, in tears, prayed while being led by another person, some form of the sinners prayer, only for us to observe so clearly that their life was not truly changed and they continue to live a life where their is no evidence that they are following Jesus!!  However, there are many who will give them "saved" status because the said some ritual prayer.  I think this is the conflict over the sinners prayer.  Maybe it is not so much the the idea of "asking Jesus into your heart" as it is whether you truly did in fact become born again.  Jesus and all the new testament writers are pretty clear that their will be very obvious "fruit" as a result of true conversion!!

By the way, Washer is very clear on this point as you know if you have watched/listened to him.  Platt is also very clear on these points.

Accepting Christ is not only inviting him in to your life but more so being willing to offer yourself to him.
Many are more than willing to accept Christ as their Savior. They will gladly accept the free gift (to them) of eternal Salvation. When asked if they're willing to make him Lord of their life is where the reluctance comes in; not so willing to surrender all (or even some)

That is a big issue.  There are those who believe every difficulty and every hardship encountered by some is always, without a doubt, a product of racism. I watched one individual, in a very subtle manner, try to suggest that the criminal acts that have taken place in BISD are the products of racism.

As Reagan once said, "The trouble with our liberal friends is not that they are ignorant, it's just that they know so much that isn't so!"
We must all ask ourselves, especially our liberal friends here, do we still know the freedoms that were intended for us by our founding fathers?

Question: "Is it biblical to ask Jesus into your heart?"

Answer:“All you need to do to be saved is to ask Jesus to come into your heart.” The problem with this statement is that it is not expressly biblical. The Bible nowhere mentions Jesus coming into a person’s heart. The wording generates a mental image that can easily lead to wrong impressions. The idea of Jesus entering a person’s heart is nowhere used in any gospel presentation in the Bible. Even the Scripture verse from which the “ask Jesus into your heart” concept is usually taken,Revelation 3:20, does not mention the heart or our asking Jesus to do anything. In context,Revelation 3:20is speaking about the church fellowshipping with Jesus, not an individual person getting saved.

When the Bible gives a gospel presentation, it encourages people to believe (John 3:16;Acts 16:31), receive (John 1:12), or change their minds, i.e., repent (Acts 3:19). That is the proper response to the gospel. We are to change our minds about our sin and about who Christ is, believe Jesus died and rose again, and receive the gift of eternal life in faith. We are to recognize that we are sinners (Romans 3:23), understand that we deserve to be eternally separated from God (Romans 6:23), trust that Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21;1 Peter 2:24), and receive the gift of salvation God offers us (Ephesians 2:8–9). All of this is done in faith, with God’s enabling (John 6:44). Salvation is not something we do or earn. Salvation is something we receive from God due to His mercy and grace.

While asking Jesus to come into your heart, i.e., enter your life, is not explicitly biblical, it is also not necessarily anti-biblical, if it is done in the context of a presentation of the biblical gospel. If a person understands sin and its penalty, understands the payment Christ made on the cross, and is ready to trust Jesus alone for salvation, an invitation to “ask Jesus into your heart” is not necessarily wrong. In fact, it could even help a person understand that the Spirit of Christ comes to indwell the soul (seeJohn 14:17). However, it is always best to use the terminology the Bible uses. “Ask Jesus into your heart” does not fully communicate what is actually occurring.

When we are sharing the gospel, we should be extremely careful what we say and how we say it. Even the wordbelievecan be misleading if it is presented as intellectual assent (agreeing that certain facts are true) instead of as trust (relying on those true facts). Judas Iscariotbelievedcertain facts about Jesus, but he nevertrustedJesus for salvation. Salvation is not about believing a list of facts. Salvation is not about asking Jesus to come into your heart. Salvation is not even about asking God to forgive you. Salvation is about trusting in Jesus as your Savior, receiving the forgiveness He offers, by grace through faith. Salvation is about being made new through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).

It’s an age-old argument. Liberals believe the solution to all that ails America is more, bigger government. Conservatives believe the opposite: less, smaller government allows America to achieve its full potential.
This post from John Hawkins on Townhall offers a defense of the latter.
The question is, when has it EVER worked?
