  1. Word was Angleton had 2 or 3 starters that didn't play against Crosby.Billy Foster the rb was one that didn't play.He gained almost 400 yards the last two playoff games against College Station and Ridge Point. They were also breaking in a FRESHMAN QB against Crosby and it showed.A freshman also played FS for Angleton. But the score could have been a lot worse had not Carlos Grace gone down with his season ending knee injury. If I'm correct,UIL did our Region a favor sending Angleton to another Region.I forgot to mention Foster's 311 yards and 5 tds against PNG.

  2.               1. Northshore

                   2. Atascocita

                   3.Kingwood ~ Returning QB

4.Sterling/Summer Creek ~ Summer Creek returns 7 players who received some kind of All District recognition.A Backfield of QB 6-3 220,FB 6-0 220,RB 6-1 230.Six or seven linemen in the 280 or better range. But BIG is not always better.Heard there was a transfer to Crosby but don't know who.I like the returning QB for Sterling.

                    6,C.E.King ~ A year away.One lineman with varsity experience.Excellent Kicker

7.GCM or Channelview ~ I like the RB Tuggle for Channelview

You better catch Atascocita early cause once that QB gels with his WRs lookout.

That's a very generous opinion of my alma mater Panthers.Lost an awful lot to graduation.I hope your right.

  4. Willis will showcase a nice throwing QB named Mark Richardson.I was impressed with him in last years scrimmage with Crosby.( threw a nice football while rolling out),I think he had some injury problems during the year.Willis did capture a playoff spot in a very good district.

Humble will showcase a tremendous RB in Terio Brown. At the end of last season he was ripping off 250 - 300 yards a game.At times Humble played great defense but fell off later in the year.Terio couldn't deliver a playoff spot. You will be impressed.

Can't say much about Needville, returns a QB from playoff team.

I actually think King has a good chance at being one of the D2 reps from the district. They might be young but the cupboard isn't bare from what I saw playing against them on the lower levels this year, they have another Tray Williams coming(even wears #3) and another Desmond Coleman clone. I saw the freshman qb throw is about 50 yards off his back foot for a TD when we played them. I think CV and Kingwood look like they would be the #3 and #4 teams but CV was heavily depended on hurts and Sewo O. basically carried Kingwood. Now that they're gone I don't think those schools have any advantage at all over King except for the enrollment, which could come into play down the stretch.

Hope you are right Cougar 14.2 ! I'll be there to support my alma mater. What scared me is seeing 35 players dressed out for varsity games last year. But the Panthers will show up on Friday Night.Just ask Beaumont Central.I think Central forgot they had a Whatley in their backfield the second half. Also King is also noted for some of their players finding mailboxes elsewhere.

  6. The trip up to 6A for C.E.King will be a killer.I counted 11 returners off last years roster. It looks like the Panthers will contend for the cellar in this district. The Trayveon Williams,Johnathan Brantley era is over and the cupboard looks bare.Could be 2 offense & 4 or 5 starters back on defense.Their kicker Jonathan Morales will be looking for district recognition.

  7. After watching 3 1/2Qrs of the game I came to the conclusion that the Ridge Point coaches attacked 2 areas of the Crosby defense and had tremendous success doing it.They ran the ball off right tackle with ease and crucified the right side of the Cougar secondary. One pass looked like a punt that was fair caught. No adjustments were made to help the left side of the Cougar defense against the run.Hats off to Nathan White who I thought played his heart out against probably a D1 offensive tackle. The idea this Cougar team couldn't beat RP never crossed my mind.If the td is made right before halftime it's a tie game and momentum is on the Cougars side. But you have to play 2 halves of football to beat teams in the playoffs and Crosby didn't.Hat's off to the RP defensive lineman # 99 who is a soph and gave the Cougar offensive line fits.

    He coming, watch.

Maybe he'll play somewhere they won't put him in the slot with 2 minutes left and never throw the ball to him. After seeing the game Thursday night game I see the Jaguars fans concern.Wasted talent.Glad these college coaches will reward this young man.
