  1. I live in Friendswood and was at the Friendswood/Dayton scrimmage.I did not see any 4.5 receiver for Friendswood. What I did see was some TALL receivers that used their bodies to out muscle the Dayton DBs for the ball.Dayton's Santee had a very good night running the ball against the Friendswood defense that was much bigger.Friendswood QB,I believe will be Karam. He is an underclassman ( soph.)??Reminds me of Payton Ploch of Dayton past.Chunky stature but will run the ball when needed. His brother was a great QB at Friendswood and I believe went to Texas Tech.He loves to throw the crossing pattern to them tall receivers.Dayton only scoring TD came when Dayton went to a hurry up offense and Friendswood could not substitute on the DL.I was not impressed with Friendswood's lack of speed which may play into Barbers Hill favor,if they have any?? That scrimmage seems like a month ago,so conditioning probably will be better on both sides.

  2. More disappointed in hometown Friendswood than Dayton.Long passes were more the recievers out muscling the DBs.No noticeable speed for a 6A team. You can see a difference in Dayton's offense but if they plan on running #22 like they did tonight, pray he stays healthy.I left with about 4 minutes left and #10 Nail ? & # 22 Santee ? were in on every offensive play.As always Dayton will hit you.The defensive line is small.Had one lineman go down, hope he is OK ! #21 put some pressure on the QB,but I could too if no one blocked me.Friendswood seem to straighten that out the second half.Dayton moved the ball when they went to a hurried up offense.Good Coaching Move ! Dayton's passing game needs to stretch the field,Nail definetly has the arm.I only remember one throw over 15 yards.

But before the game last year, crosby fans were not rattling off how great the ridge point trenches were and how much of an advantage they would have in size.

It was simply that crosby would win by three touchdowns because Ridge point no longer had bulmer and the defense wasn't as good as it was the previous year.

So, now Marshall doesn't stand a chance. next year it will be Elkins and we  all look back and talk about how Elkins doesn't have the same speed in the defensive backfield as Marshall and that's the only reason Marshall won.

Isn't it so terrible that these terrible Crosby fans for the last 10 years has had to keep these guys talking trash after your 10 games are over.Shame on you guys HEHE ! Go COUGS !

Love ya 14.2 but disagree. His kids played their hearts out (as did ours). I'd have taken the points down to be sure the record books showed this game to be as close as it was, out of respect to his seniors that gave him all they had. I also say calling our kid classes for returning the interception is ridiculous. He's a kid. He caught a ball. He ran.

    Good game Vidor. Safe travels.

Maybe he had a brother on that 2011 team and was tired of Vidor fan rubbing it in.Kids will be Kids.I never had that chance to win a playoff game, let em have some fun..Hat's off to the Cougars, but please cut down on those penalties.From 2009 Big Lew's grandfather, always a Cougar Follower.

If Crosby's quarterback does not ever run the ball they will lose to New Caney.  Every time we went empty backfield (obvious pass), Splendora dropped ALL 11 players in coverage.  30 yards of daylight and we just throw it up for grabs.  Put the Sophmore in !

I wouldn't think Riordan wanted Netherly running the ball with his history of leg injuries.I don't think any team has seen the complete Cougar offense.

  6. The seniors on this team deserves the accolades they are getting. They have been through the rough times at Porter. Many are 3 year lettermen and was lucky enough to get Coach Holley to come on board this year.Next year I suspect Porter will unfortunately endure a season like C.E.King is having this year. With the loss of so many seniors,it will be back to mediocrity next year. But Porter is a Topic this year and for these seniors I tip my hat to Ya'll.

I think after the 1st week in October the table will be set for the playoff teams.Dayton vs Humble this week, will help solve Dayton's chances. The top 6 teams Crosby,New Caney,Barbers Hill,Dayton,Humble & Splendora all play each other and can eliminate some of these teams. At the beginning of the season I thought Kingwood Park was going to be a contender. This weeks game with Barbers Hill I thought would be significant, but now it looks like a off week for Barbers Hill. Transfers and playing a lot of underclassman seems to have handcuffed them.Maybe Maples was not the answer for that HC job.I don't know if Splendora has the depth to dodge injuries the whole season and be a  contender. Can they lose a Terio Brown or a Mannie Netherly and still beat the others?New Caney & Dayton had QBs injuries this week, can Splendora survive that scenario? There can only be FOUR !

Can I use my MULLIGAN after tonights game ! Playoff determinations may take longer.
