  1. PNG is playing well. They will run the gauntlet the next 3 games though starting with Nederland then Ozen then Central. They have a good a shot at taking that 4th place spot if they play like they have been playing though.
  2. It would be great if it wound up being the schools on the projection sheet. That would be the most sensible way to do it. But what I am saying is UIL always seems to think they have to throw one more team in our district and it is always someone farther away then BH. Barbers Hill makes the most sense if they think they need to make 22-5A an 8 team district but they refuse to put them in.
  3. I want to know what the deal is why they don't put Barbers Hill in 22-5A. It's the next closest school as for as travel. They keep putting teams from farther away that we have to leap frog Barbers Hill to get to. It just doesn't make sense. But then again when has the UIL made sense. Is Barbers Hill scared to come to 22-5A and they have enough money to pay not to be put in our district? Maybe they're not but they managed to stay out the last several realignments and that's the only reason I can see that makes sense to me.
  4. This is from a more reliable source about Faircloth. He didn't get the Southlake Carroll OC job but is in the top 3 for the Lovejoy HC job. Was told they are supposed to announce it on the 20th. But with all the rumors flying around at this point I am not sure what to believe.
  5. Haven't heard a name. Just that Faircloth didn't.
  6. Was told Faircloth didn't get it. Just what I heard.
  7. It doesn't matter if you've been there and had some bad experiences. The problem is he has discipline issues and that starts at home. There are tens of thousands of kids in the same situation, away from home and have to make new friends, that don't get in the trouble he has got into. It's called responsibility and maturity. It starts in the home. I'm not saying that kids his age in his situation won't do stupid things but most learn from the first time and don't keep putting themselves in the wrong situation. I'm sorry but I don't have sympathy for some one, kid or adult, who keeps putting themselves in situations that they know are wrong and doesn't try to avoid them.
  8. Like I said on another thread, Todd Dodge would be a good hire for OC. He knows how to develope QB's, knows the Texas high school football scene, and is well respected in Texas high football coaching circles.
  9. I'm not real sure where you saw it was originally scheduled for Tuesday night because the original schedule we got and the one on PNGISD.ORG all say the 23rd with freshman starting at 10:00. My son plays on the freshman team and as of right now nothing has changed as far as we know. They usually send a group message if something changes.
  10. Freshman start at 10:00.
  11. UT needs a new OC that can bring in some top talent at the QB spot. I believe Todd Dodge would be a very good candidate. He knows the Texas high school scene and is very well respected in the high school coaching ranks. I know his stint at North Texas wasn't very good but Nick Saban couldn't win there in my opinion. Between Dodge and Traylor they could pull some of those 5* recruits in that they aren't getting just due to the respect they both have with other high school coaches. Plus he can develope QBs.
  12. I gotcha. Just saw how well they were doing and remembered how he was a BH before. Nunez dad was a pretty successful offense line coach in the college ranks. Dwayne is a very knowlegable guy and knows how to get kids ready to play.
  13. Dwayne Nunez, C.E. Kings OC, might be a good fit at BH. He's coached there before as an assistant and look what he is doing with Kings offense.
  14. Got a funny feeling this is why Burnett retired from PNG.
  15. Thank you.
  16. Does anybody know when and where PNG plays?
  17. The minimum play requirement. I don't know if it has changed from when my son played but it was all kids play minimum of 10 plays. Way to many plays to try and get all 22-24 players in.
  18. At that age though if you can spot a 75-76 mph fastball that's all you need and he spots it pretty well. But, if he messes up and hangs it both Texas and California have the hitters to pounce on it. These next two games ought to be really interesting to watch.
  19. Yeah, Texas is about 4 strong in pitching with a few others that can come in and give a couple good innings. Pennsylvania may not be as deep but their top 2 are pretty good. I think Texas will win the American side provided they don't hit a snag if they play California in the finals. I know Texas beat them the first time but California is getting their mojo going. But California isn't to deep in pitching either. On the international side it's going to be really good games between the three left.
  20. That one was a great game. This Pearland vs Pennsylvania game should come down to which pitcher can shutdown the other teams stix. Both teams hit very well. It may come down to who is home team. This should be an exciting game to watch......gotta pull for the Texas boys though.
  21. Nederland will play Slyacauga, Alabama today at 4:00 to see who plays Eagle Pass in the championship.
  22. Nederland lost 8-2. Play tomorrow at 4:00.
  23. Today's game has been rescheduled to 5:30 due to the storm last night suspending play in the night game.
  24. It's part of the scholarship. You know, room and board, tuition and books. Well FSU throws in Lawyer fees also. They know what type of kids they are recruiting.
