Yes all the games I have seen in person or online since football season at least have had 2 freshmen and 2 sophomores along with Gilder starting except I seem to remember one with Haynes a jr starting.  I felt that Baltrip drew the start just to defend McClure.

If Baltrip is #12, he is probably the most athletic player on the team and can jump out of the gym.

That all starts with Silsbee’s youth (LD) program.   Silsbee is one of the few places that actually teaches kids how to correctly play defense.  They don’t feed them the myth that basketball is a non-contact sport.   And while I have to admit I haven’t seen a single Silsbee little dribbler game that wasn’t against another town, I’m assuming they try to have games officiated properly.

Conversely, you have other towns where they grow up used to getting every touch foul, momma’s get upset when someone bodies little Johnny, etc.  So when you play Silsbee, they are playing dirty because they play hard, physical defense.  Would grate on my last nerve sitting in the stands listening to that.

This was along time go, but Silsbee practice used to consist of about 60% defense / 20% offense/ 20% conditioning.  That defensive percentage is probably even higher today.

    We missed 2 dunks 😟

I do believe this is the first game we've had our entire roster active. Be interesting to see if Coach Sigler keeps subbing 5 in and 5 out from now on. Miller ended up with 8 - 12 points for the night.

I think that Silsbee roster is fairly accurate with the heights. One of our kids really did grow 3 inches going into his senior year. That's quite a late growth spurt.

I like the 5 in 5 out with this group.
