  1. I would consider this and next season to be rebuilding seasons for Silsbee. Saying that, they still will be district favorites and have a good chance to make it to Huntsville. Yates would definitely be the favorite out of the region. As for National tournaments, Silsbee did play in one last year. Maybe there weren’t top 10 teams there, but it was a good field. Hard to get a top 10 team to put a small school like Silsbee on their schedule...even if they did win state x2.

Seems to me that this many players moving simultaneously ought to be looked at for something more than academic opportunity.  Is it my imagination or are these types of situations becoming too frequent?  Doing nothing about it would seemingly encourage more of it to take place throughout the system.

Yates admin probably just communicates the situation better than other schools.

Not sure where Braylon would play unless he left the area and went to an academy type school.

People seem to forget Silsbee was a game away from going to state before Braylon, Jordyn or Devon were on the team. Lost to a loaded Sterling squad.

Whatever happens, Tiger basketball will be fine in the long run.

Jordyn and Devon have been to state as Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors. Winning two of the three.....misread your post. I see now.

Refs better be in shape for this one.

Wonder which group of refs will be there? The group in the Yates game yesterday let both teams play. Didn't bother with the touch fouls.....The group in  the Silsbee game called it very tight. Not real sure which style would favor Silsbee today.

    Silsbee by 3 in overtime.

The Tigers just aren't firing on all cylinders right now.  They still have the individual talent but they are a little out of kilter.  So nothing will be easy.  They are going to struggle tomorrow, and Yates 3pt shooting will be decisive. Silsbee will be behind by 10 or 12 going into the 4th quarter.  They will make a superhuman effort and tie it.  Yates will be kicking themselves for letting Silsbee come back and will be emotionally drained.  The Tigers, elated to still be alive, will take an early lead in overtime and hold on.

I disagree....Silsbee is playing great and will definitely be firing on all cylinders against Yates. Life Wax is the type of team that would have given Yates trouble also...guards that break the press, good 3 point shooting, and two good bigs that can get up and down the court. A fast paced game is exactly what Silsbee is waiting for.
