Bring it on defense, El Campo has some horses but if 9 and 7 are on their game who knows. Could be a shootout type of game, EC seems to play a lot of those. I’m confident LCM will be able to score on them, we’ll see who can get a few key stops.

I respect your opinion but regardless of the excuses Vidors offense is designed to eat up clock and wear you down. At that point in the game their defense was worn out. Vidors summer conditioning program was designed to get them to that position in a game an take advantage of their fatigue. Instead we let them off the hook. Vidor will literally go 2 or 3 games without making one pass. IMO you stick to what got there. Everyone stay with their block an pound the rock. I’ve seen a Vidor game this year where 3 passes were made an 2 of them were intercepted. Sorry but 4 passes in row on your own 25 yard with 2:00 left on the clock makes no sense. You can’t lean on something you rarely do with the game on the line. An no I will not be applying for any coaches positions because I like weekends off during football season. Lol. Hoping for a  Speedy recovery for Coach Matthews.

Also, clock management was atrocious. But that's one conversation y'all haven't had on this thread yet either. But let's blame injuries though...😂

Pirates we're able to move the ball all second half via the ground game. Burning 3 TO's and the last one with 3 minutes in the game when CH was punting on 4th down at THAT! Also throwing it 4 straight times deep in CH territory, that's something Mathews would have never done. But cmon man.. we could use the injury crutch all we want - but turds roll down hill, play calling was a bigger issue than injuries last Friday.

Out of likes but yes I agree. Coach would have made sure the kicking team was ready for the extra point tries and he would have had some input on what to do at the end of the game. Run the dang ball and we win that game in my opinion, plenty of time to punch it in. We have a hurry up run offense that has worked pretty well all season.

It worked all season, it was our blueprint, the game plan, our identity and they went away from it in the most urgent time of need. Like someone else said earlier, they really let the defense off the hook with that play calling.

I am still baffled on that last possession 1st down on our own 25 with 1:47 to go an we throw 4 straight times. Lol Oh well ….it is what it is. 

The defense has been very solid for several seasons consecutively. Now the offense has been either underwhelming or inconsistent in recent history. This year was better than last season but kind of stalled at the end when we lost our best backs. Too predictable? Yea probably. Don’t pass enough? Yea probably. Crazy that they surprised everyone and threw the ball on every down on the last drive of the season and we were all like wtf… Why didn’t we run it? How do you address the problems above? Well there are plenty of Vidor fans calling for changes and some have made it crystal clear what they want in this very thread.

Yea but what would I do with my thumbs… is suppose I could twiddle them. No but in all seriousness if I’m going to talk into a mic, I have thought about getting into broadcasting. There are opportunities out there for high school football games, just don’t know if I got the chops for it.

Wanted to attend that one, but it’s on a dang Thursday night in Waco. If it was on Friday or Saturday we would’ve went. Will be in Channelview supporting the Bears.

You’ve got to put the ball in #1 #26 or #2 hands as a runner in the crucial moments at the end of the game. Live and die with what got you there, asking the QB to execute through the air wasn’t smart. You're putting it all on his shoulders, literally. Not one of those pass plays were even close to working, 1st down covered incomplete, 2nd down sacked, 3rd down low pass incomplete flag illegal man downfield, 4th down overthrown intercepted. None of your best players touched the ball in a meaningful way on the final series in your last drive of the season. Ah well on to next year I guess, just had to let that final complaint go unheard lol. It was a blast doing some play by play on here for you guys and following this special team this season. I only wish it could have lasted a couple more weeks.

You’re right, it’s going to be impossible to find another nose guard like that but the defense as a whole will have almost everyone back. The big guy was one of our only seniors on that side of the ball. Now the offense is losing a lot in the backfield and we have to find a new QB.

It’s true they put in the work in the off-season and it paid off. I’d have loved to seen what they could have done in the playoffs with Seppy and Watson both healthy but that’s football for you. Still should have won this one and went 3 rounds deep without them. As far as next season goes… if we could only find another Jordan Smith.
