The good news is the band is staying resilient so far, they remain in the stands. Not playing anything, yet they remain. Passing out water bottles and getting hydrated like any good band should.

Funny thing about this game is both teams have already done their halftime performances before the game even started due to a lighting issue. So Vidor finally got all of their lights turned on, then had to turn them off for the lights out halftime show. Then turned them back on for the game, then Lumberton immediately punched their lights right back out. What should have been a rough and rowdy packed house crowd for Vidor has turned into a whispering whimper. Everybody knows half the crowd leaves after halftime but now they just left in the first quarter. Now the Pirate band has announced that they are packing it in and leaving for the night after a couple of band member have passed out in the stands.

Sup fellas… I’m here to watch #21 I heard he’s pretty good. Sophomore he could be the future of Pirate football. PRIME TIME but at linebacker.

They were out-athleted. Physical talent, but talent nevertheless.
Physical talent you say... this made me think of the Physical Speed that the Vidor Pirates have been utilizing under Mathews.
I think the new coach will have success in the first few seasons if he keeps running the same type of offense. I wouldn't mind seeing a change to something with more multiple formations but the Pirates will have a fully stocked backfield for the next few years. Only question I have is who will emerge as the starting QB but they should have plenty of good options to tote the rock at the RB position.

I’m sure the application, hiring process will be lengthy with all the head coaches on here that will be applying.
Throwing my hat in the ring, I want to be the next head ball coach at Vidor. We will be running the Spread T, maybe I can get MTM to be my offensive coordinator and MTC to be my defensive coordinator.
No but in all seriousness, I hate to see Coach MTW go but I’m sure he’s had enough and ready to move on to another chapter. Wish him the best at BSN, that’s a sports apparel and equipment company correct?

Why do we always end up playing CH or Lindale, can't ever catch Palestine. They seem to be the only team to beat from that district. Apparently, it's already decided up in East Texas if we already know the first round matchup. Curious how it all shook out on their side since Lindale goes in as the 3 seed.

Pretty durn good safety though. Could’ve used him last night.
Thanks buddy, he did his thing. Now currently doing his thing at the Vidor Walmart lol. Idk how someone deserves 15 dollars an hour starting out and all you have to do is shop for people when they put an order in but once again… what do I know.
Go Stros 5-0 again, when you miss that big fish and get a second chance you can’t let him off the hook again.

We moved our left tackle last year to center this year. I can tell you the amount of work I saw him put in during the off-season with our QB to work on snapping and learning that position. Its a tough spot to play but can be accomplished if the work is put in!
3 hours ago, 89Falcon said:Yep, there are also very few who want the job. Blocking is hard enough without having to snap. Center may be the toughest position on the field outside of QB. We are talking about 3 snaps. What about every other snap/play? Wonder if other lineman had only "3" bad plays?
2 hours ago, Unwoke said:Tough position, No doubt. Reminds me of the catchers position in baseball. Very demanding with little recognition all while getting beat up with baseballs. Catchers make Pitchers look good, Pitchers don’t make Catchers look good. If He puts in the work he’ll get better.
I wanted my son to learn how to be a long snapper, that’s where the money is at when you can’t run a 4.5 or benchpress a Cadillac. Could have had a 25 year career in football but what does the old man know about anything ever…
