oldage football got a reaction from dj in I can admit I was wrong
fundamentals are taught dailey at WOS -- the only time I have ever seen Wos come out of the dressing room without pads on is picture day -- as soon as the pics are done  they go back inside and put their pads on for practice -- they are full pads on Thursdays - when most people do walk thrus -- They come out on Friday nite in full pads for warm-up - its the little things like that T has installed in them that matters - if you take care of the little things -- BIG things happen

I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers as our family deals with the pain of losing our youngest son Tyler on August 21st.  A lot of people don't realize that my oldest son started his ministry school on Monday Aug 20 only to have our youngest son killed in a car accident with an 18 wheeler the very next day.  The scripture says the enemy comes to steal KILL and destroy. And that's no joke people.  I give God the Glory during my toughest times because I do believe I will see him again. Im sorry im just getting around to thanking people but its a difficult process.  Thanks again.     Ken Hryhorchuk

What would make you think that the board of managers, who have worked tirelessly to rid BISD of all the backhanded dealings and under the table agreements, would be looking for the "buddy buddy" thing? I think WOSgrad hit it on the head, they attempted to hire someone who could unite the community. Like I said before, the community needed uniting because there are too many people not willing to turn the page, even though it was entirely evident that the page needed turning.

I might be the naive one in the room, but I am impressed with the hire of Arthur Louis as the new coach.  Remember folks, the new coach at United will be charged with much more than building a new football team....he will be in many ways responsible for building a new community  As impressive as the resumes of Todd Peterman, Lydell Wilson and Kirk Botkin might be in other respects, they do not have the experience that Coach Louis has in either of those regards.  And as folks from old school Ozen remember, he was kind of successful in that regard.
As many have noted since news of the merger came about, mending of the community will be necessary.  What better man to do that than a respected member of the community?  What better man to do that than a man who BISD fans had expressed hopes would fill a BISD head coaching job, whether Central, Ozen or West Brook, every time one of those positions came open?  You need someone within the community that can command the respect of all who come to it.  Folks, whether you care to admit it or not, Arthur Louis is that man.  No he may not have been the "splashworthy" candidate that some were hoping for.  But the building that will be required here will require more than just a splash.  In Arthur Louis, you have a man who is invested in the community, and having come from a school that looked to such candidates to lead them and have had success in doing so, there is something to be said for that.
I know that there is this undercurrent, that Coach Louis is merely a placeholder and that in a couple of years one of the current Ozen or Central coaches will resume the helm.  And that may very well be the case.  However, with the outside hires that so many coveted, do you think that the coaching situation would be any more settled?  Do folks really believe that folks like Peterman or Wilson, who have state championships on their resume and coaching stops (as well as AD stints) at much bigger school districts, would have actually put down permanent stakes at a smallish 6A school made up of a couple of schools who really have no major playoff success to speak of?  If you believe so, perhaps I am not the only naive person in the room.
But the folks at United are faced with the choice.  They can, as a community, rally around Coach Louis and work as hard as they can to help build the program that many of you think it can be OR you can spend your time lamenting about the "big fish" that got away.  As Alpha Wolf, who I know to be an avid fisherman, can tell you, that second choice never gets you that far.

many years ago I applied for a head coaching job at a predominately black school - During the interview a PR lady asked me if I thought I would have a hard time coaching these kids since I was white --  A very wise old black man interrupted her (happened to the superintendent) and said don't worry--- winning will take care of all that. He was right too!!!

I've said he was graduating in december from png at least 3 x.

I haven't been on here since whenever png got beat up by College station.  I only post football stuff during football season. The only reason I'm aware of this thread is because a friend texted me
my daughter was born this morning. The last thing on my mind is where roschon is going to play football.
If he DID transfer, that would be his and my Dads business. I certainly wouldn't post about it, I have my own kids to put through school.
Some things aren't worth addressing, especially if it's been done time and again.

Actually, it is dead when it hits the ground in the end zone, not when it crosses the goal line in the air and is caught.
Congrats to the Mustangs on a great run, it hardly means your Dynasty is over, nor that we are one now.
But, for now, until the next Season, we have beat the Man to be The Man.
I, as many fans were, was nervous in the latter parts, when the only real weakness PG has shown was exploited for some Passing gains.
It really appeared like the game was switching Mo, and WOS was going to show what Champions do. They made it a great game.
However, for this year, I think respect and recognition goes to the Hawks. We expect that WOS fans are going to be Homers for their boys, just as we are. We all just love our own schools and football.
Many of us, if we were in the same school would be great buds with that in common. For me, after the game, there is no animosity or rancor. Win or lose, It is good that as far as I could tell, nobody got hurt, and I hope we all get home safely.

Did you see what happened when Chaka ran?  Did you see the hits he took?  Pleasant Grove Hawks were ALL over them.  Most rushing plays most passing plays.
I don't what some of y'all were watching today, but it certainly wasn't the game I just saw!  I saw a great team that ran into an even better team and that better team won.

I would like to say from a person that truly admires High School dynasties.......WOS is the true definition of that. That is a program to be proud of and I know you are. You lost in the title game, but those kids never quit. NEVER. Even when all odds were against them they never quit. That's something that all WOS fans should be proud of. Congratulations guys on a GREAT RUN. Y'all have lots of talent and I don't think we are even close to seeing the end of this.

On another note XXman you should find another hobby. Football makes you miserable and you should find something that makes life a little more enjoyable. You bitched and whined and moaned about everything those coaches and kids did. It's easy to be a fan when all is good. Those kids deserve better than that.
