I keep telling you that tides turn and they will turn. The question remains will you still be here then? I am here most of us on here have a real love of highschool sports. Some just football some loves all highschool sports. Win or lose I am here. I truley hope you are. The more real fans the better. I have been on this website for many many years most likely around 9 I think. I have seen literally hundreds of fans pop up when there team is winning and disappear as soon as they lose. The SC fans were some of the worse. I admit we have some PNG fans who pop up on here and tick me off with the crap they say. I even get mad a say dumb things myself but I am always here. I hope you are then as well. The more the better!!!!

You're always going to play at least two backs though. If you're an LSU fan you know next year Fournette is supposed to be the man, he'll still probably only get 60% of the carries if he can stay healthy though. Meaning that as much as LSU runs the ball there's still probably 300 carries left to go around. Chubb is the only proven back at Georgia right now and if nobody emerges this year Whaley could play there early behind him, plus Chubb is probably going to leave after his junior year.
Texas and OU already have back that do exactly what Whaley does, and do it better which is why he would wait at those places. Tristan Houston, Duke Catalon, and Chris Warren will all be freshmen at Texas next year while Donta Foreman will just be a sophomore. OU has Samaje Perine who rushed for over 1700 yards as a true freshman, but I still don't think he's better than Joe Mixon who will be a freshman next year and is listed as Perine's backup on the two-deep. Add to that mix Katy's Rodney Anderson who is coming off three consecutive title game appearances and a nearly 7000 yards prep career and you have another log jam at running back. I would say Whaley could beat all these guys out but his film says otherwise.

Morris_era reacted to Goblin in Last 100 Games
I did a little research and made a list of records for the last 100 games played and included every 11-man UIL team in districts which include SETX teams as posted in the 2014 end of the year standings 1A through 6A.  Teams that played 100 games in the least amount of time were how the tiebreaks were made.  This is a lot of teams from a lot of classifications and there are sure to be some errors so let me know and I will correct them.  I realize people will have their arguments on why such and such is unfair.  I'm not saying this is a definitive ranking by any means but it's something that's interesting and open for discussion.  This gives a definite advantage to teams that have done well in the playoffs consistently recently (5 of the top 7 played in State Championship games, 7 of the top 9 played in State Semifinal games) but yes it does penalize for having tougher schedules that result in early season losses which in the long run could be very helpful later on.  Despite that the usual suspects seem to have remained at the top (WOS has three 3-loss seasons and a 4-loss season included here and Newton lost 4 games in 2008, 2010 and 2014).  I actually kind of like the results and a few teams are poised to jump significantly if they live up to the hype set up for them in 2015 (Crosby, Jasper and Hardin-Jefferson for sure). What elite teams did your favorite team lose to?  What teams should your team have beaten?  What was your fave teams biggest win?  Four teams have not been around long enough to hit the 100 games played mark so they were ranked by their winning percentage from the games they did play (Kingwood Park, Goose Creek Memorial, New Caney Porter and Anderson-Shiro).  100 was somewhat of an arbitrary number chosen although if a team were to go 16-0 for 6 seasons straight (which has never happened) they would have played 96 games so at the very minimum it takes into account the last 7 seasons for every team.  It also makes it very easy to get a winning percentage as the total wins equals the winning percentage.

Lol, my friend, at no time did I say that a coach should give a player any special treatment.also, if this conversation pisses you off, thin I suggest you abstain from social media. Now , What I said was, the coach should not INTENTIONALLY trash a player. I agree with everything you are saying about work ethic. I loved the movie Rudy, but for some reason there is a disconnect between what I say and how you understand what I say. It seems like you think I'm saying that a coach should give his stamp of approval to a kid who didn't work hard and has a bad attitude. That is not what I'm saying. I'm saying that a player should work hard and be accountable and coachable. Those are the kids a college should want. BUT, sometimes colleges will take a chance on a kid who may come up lacking in some of those areas. My point is, in the case of both of those kids, a highschool coach has no say in which one a college wants and should not attempt to discourage a college from recruiting either kid. All that being said it does seem that you feel that there are an over abundance of lazy kids with bad character. I agree with you, there are some of those. But there are also some petty vindictive coaches out there who don't have ALL of his kids best interest at heart. It would be nice if you saw it from both sides. You stated that you liked the movie Rudy. I suggest you watch the movie Varsity Blues and explore the other side of highschool football.

Oldschool2, I think you either missed my point or you are ignoring it.im not talking about the kid who thinks he is 5 stat but doesn't even start on his own tea because some one else is better. My point is that there are a very small percentage of coaches that for some reason go out of their way to sabotage a kid. I'm talking about when a coach deliberately and intentionally ignore attempted correspondence from college recruiters. I'm talking about when a coach will not allow certain universities on campus. I'm talking about when a coach intentionally withholds mail from universities from a kid. Regardless of what the high school coach thinks of a player, if a college wants to recruit him, that's on them. Like I said before, if whatever the kid did was not bad enough for YOU to kick him off YOUR team, then it isn't worth mentioning to a recruiter. That's means you will allow the kid to help you win games but you DONT want the kid to help himself. #selfishandpetty.

College scouts can find out anything about anybody. Most colleges have people whose only job is to follow social media. They track some kids from middle school. There are camps for every level of kid all over the U.S. That being said there are coaches who transport their players all over the place to give them every opertunity to be successful. Some don't. I have no problem with either one. A high school coach may not be able to get you a scholarship, but they damn sure can Sabotage of prevent you from getting one. A scout may not listen to a coach raving about a player(because most coaches do that and they have seen the film) but his ears will pop up when a coach says negative things. College coaches look at 10 players that look exactly the same on paper and in person. They are looking for discriminators to help separate the talent. So, if a coach puts his player down it hurts the players chances to be offered. I have heard people on here say" the high schools coaches reputation is on the line". " the coach has to disclose all". My take on that is, if that player played for you for 3 or 4 years and what ever he or she was doing wasn't bad enough for YOU to kick him of YOUR team then why mention it to the college recruiter. To me, that's freaking selfish and petty. You have no problem letting that player bust his ass and help YOU win games, but you don't want the kid to be able to help him self at the next level. Like I said. Selfish and petty.

Lol, why would I list Jared Lorenzen, David Greene or Josh Heupel who won a Heisman if the other guys were better? Would you consider Stephan Lefors or Sean Canfield special, both tore it up in college. Sharp sat behind Brett Hundley who will get drafted this year and UCLA just signed Josh Rosen who was thought by most to be the number 1 qb in the nation last year. I can name lefties for days who balled out in college. There's a lot more than you think for not that much of the popation to be left handed. Who's been better than Sharp around here recently? Who's had qb offers from UCLA, Baylor and Texas recently? There mustn't have been a special right handed qb around here for a while either using your theory?
