I have no problem with the picture of the whiteboard drawing. That's pretty funny, and harmless. We used to have signs around school like "scalp the Indians", "kill the cats" or whatever. So yeah, who cares about the picture. The comment by the teacher/coach wouldn't bother me much if he wasn't a teacher/coach, or at least if it wasn't on facebook. I feel like there's a certain amount of professionalism and sportsmanship that coaches should be held to. It's one thing to say something like that to your own team, and as a player coaches might say something like that to us, which isn't a big deal (in the locker screaming "we kicked their ..., they're the worst team in town! now we're the best team in town! etc.), it's another thing completely when posted online where it could be read by hundreds of people and possibly spread to the media. It's an insult that is derogatory to a whole team of high school kids, who have now ALL been exposed to the putdown through the media, and that is the age group that this coach has been hired to promote and lift up, not degrade and embarrass. So on a whole, I don't think it's the biggest deal in the world, but if you're going to sign on to be a teacher and a coach, and at least theoretically devote a good part of your life to educating young people, you should provide a better example and make sure that you're not doing anything that might negatively affect the kids you're supposed to help.

All that having been said, to answer the question of "too far or oversensitive?", the correct answer is "yes."

I have a feeling he is someone who trys to fit in with kids... Thinks it's cool. But he isn't one of the kids. His job is to win with class, to teach respect.  And his comments on social media was classless and disrespectful.. Is it 6 o'clock news worthy? Not even close.

What was that flag for? I couldn't figure it out and and missed where the flag was thrown from, so I had no idea. As for what I saw on the punt return, it looked like the Bobcats were expecting the fair catch. I believe it was Josh Jack that saw the HUGE gap straight up the middle and you know what happened after that. Now the short field was nice, but I could make the argument that we very well could have taken the ball the length of the field and scored. I would say that maybe the Bobcats outplayed the Hawks at the end of the half, not the entire first half.

HJ was able to force turnovers and play with a comfortable lead. I do think it was a very close game until the 4th quarter. You have to remember that the INT was somewhere around our own 30 yard line. HJ put more than just one drive together. They have the ability to do that, regardless of how far they have to go. I did think once HJ went up 35-14 it was over (I was hoping OF would try to kick a field goal because I had picked the final to be 35-17). I knew there wasn't enough time for OF to come away with three TD's.

As to you not losing the game, just running out of time, you have to remember that we ended with the ball. You had four tries for the end-zone. We made the stop before the game ended! Time didn't run out, OF's luck ran out!

Tatum, center, jasper, LCM, and orangefield are 5 quality opponents. I think that would qualify as a
"Pretty tough schedule", as he stated. Lots of legit playoff teams in their schedule so far.

I think HJ would beat EC by a couple of scores this year. They certainly haven't beaten anybody worth mentioning. I think Buna would be a close game, but I think HJ would win. And Kirbyville would be anyone's game. I didn't in any way say that HJ would roll any of them. But he stated with certainty that all three would beat HJ, which is absurd. HJ is good enough to beat all three, and would be favored against two of them. The logic behind the original statement was pretty sketchy too, with none offered as to why EC would beat them, none offered as to why Kirbyville would beat them, and a cockamamie explanation given as to why Buna would beat them. Then when i took the time to actually look at some results and give a response with some relevant information, i get criticized for a long post, and called "the HJ mafia", whatever that's supposed to mean. That was my whole issue. I never meant to give any impression that I thought HJ would waltz through the district destroying everyone in sight.

This is crazy middle schooler logic.  How do you give credit to Buna for beating OF because of a missed extra point, but then give OF credit for losing to HJ, when they were down 21 points with 3 minutes to go and needed two onside kicks just to even make the game interesting?  OF should not have beaten HJ, and were lucky it ended as close as it did.  As for East Chambers, four of their opponents have 1-5 records, and the other two teams they've beaten are average at best.  East Chambers has beaten MAYBE one team that you could call "good", and that team would get destroyed by any decent 4A school in the area.  Buna has played a little tougher schedule, and have done well, but have done absolutely nothing this year that would allow any sane person over the age of 11 to guarantee a victory over HJ like you have done, although i think it would be a good game.  Their best win is arguably a 10-point win over center, who HJ blasted by 31, even after the 2nd string gave up a garbage time score.  Kirbyville has a very talented team, but again, 4 of their 6 wins have come against 1-5 teams, so it's hard to say how well they would do with a tough schedule.  But i will say that if Kville/HJ played, it would be a tossup in my mind.  HJ has played as many quality opponents this year as EC, Buna, and Kirbyville combined, and they're 7-0.  Thats more than enough to deserve a #1 ranking in this poll, but it's also more than enough to nullify your crazy comment that they'd finish 4th in 12-3A, especially when you look at the results you're basing your prediction on.

I would argue it was for first and third. HJ has the talent and coaching to beat WOS this season. As an HJ fan, I totally agree with WOS fans that yall are the prohibitive favorite, but this is a team that COULD beat the stangs. HJ will come in fresh off a bye week to heal and rest up, and with an extra week to gameplan. Again, WOS should be favored to win against HJ, but if the hawks pull it off, the only people who will be truly shocked are the WOS fans.

I think he has you confused with me, Tvc. Just because TVC is very bright, doesn't necessarily make him a liberal democrat :D. In fact, he is far from it. He just has a greater understanding of the laws in this country (including the constitution) than 99.99999999999999999% of the population. Up that percentage a bit for this board.

I think most fans sell their tickets in order to make money.  There are people in the DFW area that could care less about going to football games.  They buy season tickets in order to sell them for a profit.  I for one, would never sell my season tickets unless I had too.  Then I would make sure that I sold them to a COWBOYS fan.  I would rather let the ticket go to waste then let an opposing teams fan buy it.

Remember, if we lose to Seattle it's considered a "quality" loss so it really doesn't count. It's a win/win situation.
