  1. man, this sounded like a hell of a game! congrats broncos, do us proud next week!
  2. Well, it's all relative. The marlins have a history of doing well with young prospects, and they got some good ones here. By getting rid of these two players, Florida's salary payout is going to be about 15 bucks next year, meaning they'll have plenty of money to go out and get more players, but they probably won't do it.
  3. all this fight crap doesn't really matter. from what i hear, the cops are going to take care of that. what's important is what happened on the court, which was another HJ win, and against a very good LCM team at that.
  4. UT is ranked #4 in one poll and #5 in another!
  5. sounds like HJ won the battle that mattered, anyway. congrats to both teams on a hard-fought game.
  6. this is a tough district to call... you have 3 or 4 teams at the top capable of beating each other whenever they play. there isn't one clear frontrunner this year. lumberton and central have a good shot, as does nederland, who has a young team that will have matured some from last year. also, you can never count png out until you see what kind of year they're going to have. good luck to all teams involved... i can't wait to see how things turn out this year!
  7. I'm glad i like the tigers, because they are going to be the best team in baseball this year. that's just an insane lineup to have to pitch against. i just can't imagine having jaque jones and pudge rodriguez in the 8 and 9 hole (or edgar renteria in the 7 hole, for that matter). there's absolutely nobody you can pitch around. and speaking of pitching, they're going to have a good rotation this year. if they can find some relief pitching, they could win 120 games...
  8. it's reminds me of the end of that flag football ya'll arranged on here a few months ago ;D
  9. if kelly scored 2 and the sulpher goalie had to make 14 other saves, like the article said, it's hard to say that this was an even game like the sulpher coach made it sound, considering the kelly keeper only made 4 saves. who knows... either way, congrats on another win!
  10. Are you sure that you have the right Bobby Knight? The Bobby Knight I know would never do anything like that...
  11. The beautiful thing about this was that texas found a way to win even though A.J. Abrams was basically invisible in the second half. Damien James stepped up big, and Augustine played pretty well. The horns may not be the best team in the nation this year, but they're showing that they're certainly capable of beating any team in the nation.
  12. i found your response a bit confusing, but it sounds like you want threads over waller? unless they move them to southeast texas, i don't know what you expect. other than the statistics and talk about a matchup with dayton, we don't have a whole lot of reason to talk about them. and as for the senior thing, all you have to do is keep posting, and then you can join the ever so exclusive club.
  13. What a game! Texas takes the lead 63-61 with 8 seconds left on a putback slam, and UCLA misses a three to win at the buzzer! Texas has gone from a young team with little expectations to a probably top five team in no time at all.
  14. I thought so too... i wasn't sure how china spring played into the conversation, but since he brought it up...
  15. Ouch, you got me. It's really a shame, because I can tell by the way that you word your posts that you aren't stupid. Of course, stupid and ignorant are two different things. You come on here spewing ignorance, you belittle local teams, coaches, and players, and pass judgement on people and players that you know nothing about. The whole time you do this, you brag about how great friendswood and its fans are, about how ya'll are too good to make excuses. If your attitude and way of thinking is indicative of other friendswood fans, I find this hard to believe. This is a forum for those who support local southeast texas sports teams. You obviously don't fall into this category, which begs the question, why are you on here? I've seen nothing positive in any of your posts, and I've seen very little that might be based on fact. I'm all about stating your opinions, but why don't you stick to forming opinions about things that you might know a little something about.
  16. do you realize ya'll didn't make the playoffs? as i often find myself wondering after reading your posts, where is the relevance?
  17. i guess we'll have to take your word for it, as not too many of us on here are getting onto your local forums and reading the friendswood threads (to try and stir up issues as you are doing, or otherwise). you're still ignoring the fact that kelly is the only team that has been playing, which is why there have been so many threads about them. i read through several of the kelly threads, and only a player or two actually sounded like they were bragging, and i didn't really find much of it very offensive. as for your complaints about the kelly coach coming on here to make excuses, i think you're trying to turn a very simple statement into a major issue. personally, i like having the coach come on and give some play by play and explanation after the game. it allows us some incite into what went on, and why certain things happened the way they did. I really wish that, seeing as you hate reading our threads so much, that you would stay off the board and leave it to the posters who are willing to support our local teams and share in the excitement when a local team gets a good win.
  18. i don't know that you can take that thread at anything more than face value. are the raiders good enough to beat the broncos now that dayton has a quarterback? we'll never know. you need to remember, though, that during that same time frame there was a lumberton vs. odessa permian thread, and also (if i'm not mistaken ;D) a lumberton vs. miami dolphins thread and a thread about lumberton finding osama bin laden. now i don't disagree with you that fans on this site were looking ahead to a possible lumberton-dayton rematch, but why wouldn't we. if it had occured, it might have been the most exciting local football game in several years. the thread was not intent on disrespecting waller in any way. i believe if the title had been "When Dayton and Lumberton play again next week, who will win?", you'd have a legit gripe.
  19. i kinda got tired of them at first, but most of them are good-natured and fun, and i've had fun on here going back and forth with the lumberton fans. tvc is right, you don't have to read them. as for these threads taking away from the dayton/waller game, why don't you take it upon yourself to start up some threads about that game. there are a lot of dayton fans on the site, and most of SETX is behind dayton right now. if you start some dayton threads, i'm sure you'll find that there are plenty that are willing to talk about it.
  20. haha, ok, i had a picture in my head of who you were, but i was wrong. good luck with your season... i'm gonna try to come out and watch a couple of games.
  21. In your opinion, which players were the most valuable offensive and defensive players on your team this year? If you can, back up your answers with statistics.
