  1. i think the only team capable of beating HJ right now is themselves. If they play as well as they have been, there shouldn't be a better team out there in 3A. If they have an off-night against the wrong team, however, they could be beaten.
  2. silsbee hasn't done anything to show me that they're the better team this year. they've had a couple of losses (including to a team that HJ easily handled), while HJ is still undefeated. HJ just beat the #1 team in the state by 10, silsbee just beat orangefield by 1. i know that OF is playing some good ball this year, but they'll struggle to finish in the top 4 in the district, while TCH is a legit pick for state. I'm not saying that Silsbee isn't any good, or even that they can't beat HJ. We know they're good, and we know that they are capable of beating any team on any night. I'm just saying that at this point of the season, looking at both teams' bodies of work so far, it's absurd for anyone to pick Silsbee over HJ. If silsbee can come in and take a game from HJ in district, it might be time to re-evaluate things. Until then, HJ has to be the favorite to win this district.
  3. Good luck, guys! Ya'll have been on fire lately, and i've been very impressed how ya'll have bounced back from a tough start to the season. Keep it up, and bring the trophy home to SETX!
  4. i have to give some credit to a silsbee fan giving HJ props. Good luck to ya'll every game this season except against the hawks
  5. HUGE win for HJ! Congrats boys! If they keep playing this well, nobody will beat them.
  6. that's what i'm talking about! HJ really turned it up in the turn! looking good for the hawks...
  7. i'm surprised that both teams are holding each other to so few points.
  8. HJ has yet to show any of the "donahoe effect". it looks like they might be every bit as good this year as last year. good luck the rest of the tourney!
  9. man, this sounded like a hell of a game! congrats broncos, do us proud next week!
  10. Well, it's all relative. The marlins have a history of doing well with young prospects, and they got some good ones here. By getting rid of these two players, Florida's salary payout is going to be about 15 bucks next year, meaning they'll have plenty of money to go out and get more players, but they probably won't do it.
  11. all this fight crap doesn't really matter. from what i hear, the cops are going to take care of that. what's important is what happened on the court, which was another HJ win, and against a very good LCM team at that.
  12. UT is ranked #4 in one poll and #5 in another!
  13. sounds like HJ won the battle that mattered, anyway. congrats to both teams on a hard-fought game.
  14. this is a tough district to call... you have 3 or 4 teams at the top capable of beating each other whenever they play. there isn't one clear frontrunner this year. lumberton and central have a good shot, as does nederland, who has a young team that will have matured some from last year. also, you can never count png out until you see what kind of year they're going to have. good luck to all teams involved... i can't wait to see how things turn out this year!
  15. I'm glad i like the tigers, because they are going to be the best team in baseball this year. that's just an insane lineup to have to pitch against. i just can't imagine having jaque jones and pudge rodriguez in the 8 and 9 hole (or edgar renteria in the 7 hole, for that matter). there's absolutely nobody you can pitch around. and speaking of pitching, they're going to have a good rotation this year. if they can find some relief pitching, they could win 120 games...
  16. it's reminds me of the end of that flag football ya'll arranged on here a few months ago ;D
  17. if kelly scored 2 and the sulpher goalie had to make 14 other saves, like the article said, it's hard to say that this was an even game like the sulpher coach made it sound, considering the kelly keeper only made 4 saves. who knows... either way, congrats on another win!
  18. Are you sure that you have the right Bobby Knight? The Bobby Knight I know would never do anything like that...
  19. The beautiful thing about this was that texas found a way to win even though A.J. Abrams was basically invisible in the second half. Damien James stepped up big, and Augustine played pretty well. The horns may not be the best team in the nation this year, but they're showing that they're certainly capable of beating any team in the nation.
