  1. really? If someone on the left posted an article on here, and 3 or 4 people got on here and agreed with it without verifying, and then someone on the right did 10 seconds of research and discovered the article was made up or misrepresented the truth, what would you guys be saying? "Look at the low information voters, believing everything the read." You and I both know that this works both ways.
  2. personally, I think you should've started a new thread, as your topic was a REAL topic that could generate real debate. You've now placed it under one of Smitty's fake headlines, which means it will likely generate little or no discussion. But it's all good.
  3. the real problem here is this... There's still a WNBA? But seriously, there's not going to be much press about the WNBA's scandals when nobody even cares about the WNBA's actual product.
  4. does this say something about flying illegals into the country? I missed it I guess, but I was just scanning.
  5. my work web filter banned this site as "hate speech". it's probably right.
  6. Whether or not you are correct in your opinion here, that does not change the fact that what may actually happen is nothing like what this article portrays, thus inciting low information voters to spread the hate propaganda.
  7. by giving the impression that the United States will be paying a $50B signing bonus to Iran? By wording their title and article in such a way to give the impression that the US will be using US funds to give Iran an insane amount of money, the author of this "news piece" has ensured that people of your ilk will be angered and pass it on, whether it's factual or not.
  8. maybe you could be an extra in the movie...
  9. let him in already.
  10. Once again Smitty posts a link to an article that completely misrepresents the reality of what might happen in an effort to portray Obama in the most negative way possible.
  11. Hopefully the public is smart enough to not re-elect some of the same yahoos that ran the district into the ground in the first place, but I have my doubts
  12. With a town that size, I'm sure it has a lot to do with who she is, rather than what she looks like. It's worth noting that 80% is only 5 officers. She had previously held an officer for the town, so it's more than possible that they know her and her work habits well enough to know they don't want to work under her.
  13. I saw where he's filed for divorce.
  14. Not sure. They could've shot and killed him and been justified in doing so. Seems like he might've gotten off lightly. It's hard to tell from the dashcam, but if he was closing in and the suspect brought the gun up, then why not. But it definitely looked like the officer had the intent to hit him when he drove in. That being said, the officer was cleared of any wrongdoing by the DA
  15. appears to be a good choice.
  16. I couldn't get your link to load, but I'm assuming they would've proclaimed him guilty even without a video, just like they did in ferguson.
  17. Most communities are making this effort. Even the Ferguson chief said as much. We want them, but they won't apply or don't qualify.
  18. Buddy, towns are BEGGING for applicants of minority races. the problem is they don't want the job, they can't pass the test, or they already have backgrounds that exclude them. Applicants from Port Arthur get seven extra points on the test JUST FOR BEING FROM PORT ARTHUR. considering the racial makeup of PA, that's a pretty clear effort to make it easier for minorities to get hired. but you can't hire people who wont apply, you can't hire people who can't pass a basic reading comprehension test, and you can't hire people who already have criminal backgrounds. With that said, a good number of PA's younger officers are black and Hispanic.
  19. how do y'all feel about ESPN.com's new setup? I absolutely hate it. Just curious about your thoughts.
  20. seems more like a place where folks go to pick and choose certain passages that back their beliefs, while negating those that don't align with them.
  21. Smitty, since you still abide by the rules of Leviticus, I'm sure it's safe to assume that you do not eat shellfish or pork, spread slander (I think we all know you still do this regularly ;) ), trim your beard, do not stand in the presence of the elderly, mistreat foreigners (ha!), and surely you've never sold land. Am I right?
  22. The problem with Christians using the whole "Not bound by the laws of the old testament" thing is that you always have some yahoo quoting the old testament to try and make a point. I introduce Exhibit A above.
  23. I do a lot of ridealongs with tvc, and officers are constantly trying to fix cameras and body mics that are malfunctioning. For whatever that's worth to you.
  24. He's guilty as hell, but anytime you bring a jury into play, anything can happen.
