  1. President bush took 77 trips to his Crawford ranch, at one point staying for 5 weeks straight. He racked up 879 days of vacation while Obama is around 150. Obama generally plays once a week, I'm sure on a closed course, so he probably zips through in a couple of hours. I don't really see the point here.
  2. Bahahahahaha!
  3. In my opinion? Not much different. There was speculation and then protests and riots before the police had to time to do much of anything.
  4. I saw one report that stated there are TWELVE Witnesses backing the cop's story, and another stating he had a fractured orbital bone.
  5. This of course being the tape with the clerk trying to stop him from exiting the store with a box of "rellos", is it not?
  6. That didn't last long...
  7. If that's the case, I'm not sure where the outrage should come from.
  8. Was Wagner unarmed? I didn't see it in the article.
  9. Apparently the cop who shot brown's dad lives in Orange. Not sure if the cop is from setx though. [Hidden Content]
  10. I went on a ridealong with TVC this weekend. Not much was going on, so we were riding around and we saw a car stopped in the turn lane with a person inside and a couple of people around the car. They happened to be black. He turned his car around and approached them to see what was going on. He then found out the car was dead, and he and I helped them push it out of the road into a parking lot. All of that to say, it looked very suspicious, and even though they were in fact doing nothing wrong, he still had to check out. Police are paid to check out suspicious situations. And while he might have been criticized for "harassing them" had they been doing something wrong, had he driven by without stopping and there was a shooting victim in the driver's seat, imagine the outrage. I've also ridden with him enough to know that had the occupants in the car been white, he would've done everything exactly the same.
  11. Kind of gives him a good reason to lie, though, doesn't it? Regardless of the outcome of the investigation into the shooting, there is no way the police can ever bring charges against him. Protesters will claim it's retaliation, despite the clear video evidence.
  12. Did the medical examiner examine the cop for a sign of a struggle? He's claiming to have been punched in the face... I'm not sure what happened, and witnesses and evidence are conflicting, but until a clearer picture of what actually happened emerges, I'm going to go ahead and give the benefit of the doubt to the officer with the spotless record rather than to the young criminal fresh off his latest felony.
  13. The public is so outraged by the police acting like "military", they had to call in the actual military.  now they're about to see what military really looks like.
  14. Of course there are. But corrupt is not the same as "murderer". While there are cases every year of police shooting and killing people, and while there are cases of police brutality, if this case went down as the main witness stated, this would be literally the first case in my lifetime that I can remember where an officer just shot someone for no apparent reason. I'm not talking about cases where officers took things too far, or made a mistake, or got nervous or pissed off and used too much force, but actually saw someone, maybe exchanged words and then shot them? While I'm sure it's happened somewhere at some point, that is not a problem that anyone of any race realistically faces in this country.
  15. He would ask me. What point are you trying to make?
  16. And why are we still debating whether or not he committed a robbery? I saw an interview with his buddy's lawyer admitting it happened.
  17. Why is it harder for you to believe that a criminal who had just committed an assault and robbery might assault an officer than it is for you to believe that an officer with 6 years of spotless service would shoot an unarmed teen for no reason?
  18. I'm doing a police ridealong with TVC tonight. His SUV has three ports for cellphone chargers. The technology they have is way out of control. Militarization at its finest.... ;)
  19. For the record, I'm not trying to make anything a black/white thing. The article in itself made it a "black" thing, which is why I'm asking questions directed to black posters.
  20. But can you really blame them? They're being persecuted and prosecuted in the press for killing a guy that's been portrayed as a perfect kid who would never do anything wrong, which was a big part of the outrage when it seemed there was no way he'd ever have a problem with a cop.
  21. Do you mind if I ask how old you are? I spend a lot of time driving in PA in the middle of the night (I go fishing there), and I see a lot of black males hanging out and walking around, and I see a lot of police cars driving around, but I can't remember an instance where I've seen a car pulled up talking to anyone where it would appear that they were hassling them. I also go on a couple of police ridealongs a year and I've never heard on the radio or responded to any calls of any officer stopping a pedestrian for simply walking around. So I know it's not a something that happens constantly. I've also driven through the main drag there at 2 AM on many occasions and there were people spilled out into the streets, loud music, public drinking, etc, about 2 blocks from the police station, and no police were out hassling them, even though misdemeanors were being committed in the middle of the street. That being said, if there's a curfew on the seawall, and a group of black males is hanging out there anyway, if a white cop pulls up and tells them to leave is that considered hassling?
  22. No, it is not a crime. But a much higher percentage of people out at that time of night are up to no good. Especially in high crime areas. If I'm wandering down 4th street in BMT at 2 AM, I'm not going to be surprised if an officer asks me what I'm up to.
  23. Correct. But if Brown THOUGHT the cop knew he was a suspect, it could explain why he might have gotten aggressive towards the cop.
  24. If my understanding of the situation is correct, he wanted the DA gone, and when she wouldn't resign he denied funding to a program she was involved in? If that's the case, then it sounds like the indictment is warranted. On the flip side, if Obama denied a legit program funding because he had a beef with a republican involved with the program, there would be outrage, and someone would soon post a westernjournalism article all about how crooked it was.
  25. It's these sort of inaccuracies that show that we need to wait before casting judgement. If people were saying he was shot ten times and it was more like half that, it's also possible that they're incorrect on how the whole thing went down. Did he get shot close to the car and end up 35 feet away? Did he raise his hands after he'd already been shot 5 times? Or did it really go down the way that the twitter folks are saying? They've already been a wrong a few times, so it's kind of hard for me to take their word as gospel.
