Our laws are not based on the 10 commandments, although a couple of them line up.

Nash, for a man of your intelligence, you sure seem to take "news" from any source at face value as long as you feel it validates your stance. This is not a real article. I'm not talking about one of the biased opinion "news" pieces that are posted on here, but a complete hoax. But even if it were real, are you claiming that you told me that if gays were allowed to marry it would cause a redneck with mental issues to claim to have been raped by a farm animal? I do not recall this prediction.
-
A reasonable post. I would counter this by saying that I have a problem with any law that keeps someone from living their life how they want that is based on lawmakers' religious beliefs.

Heterosexual sinful sex is the same. Movies, television, commercials, etc. people making out in the streets, sex in public places. It's not like this is exclusive to, or even close to more common, in homosexuality.
-
Nah. Every judge has a conflict of interest on every ruling. It's called their personal beliefs. And they (both conservative and liberal) use their personal beliefs and affiliations to dictate their rulings nearly every time.
-
Wait, are you saying Palin isn't. She judges one group publicly for their sexual sin, but doesn't have anything to say about her daughter committing a different sexual sin (again). You're right, she's not a hypocrite, she's a beacon of light for Christ.
-
Wait, are you saying Palin isn't a hypocrite?
-
Why not? She doesn't have any problem berating others publicly that don't conform to her belief systems.
-
Of course not. Now if you were a political mouthpiece who ignored what was going on in your own family while pretty much exclusively railing against another sexual sin, then it would.
-
She's as hypocritical as they come, and her mom is one of the conservative Christians favorite talking heads. Whether she would be praised by the left for doing one of the other things you mentioned is pretty irrelevant, just as anything coming out of her or her mom's mouth should be.
-
Not sure Nash. I'm okay with it being one or the other, but it can't be both. It sure seems like the category it fits in depends on which group is perpetrating the action.
-
Per Bristol... "I don't want any lectures, and I don't need any sympathy." i guess the Palin family is only allowed to dish out the lectures on holiness and purity, but not allowed to be subjected to them.

A perfect example of Christian hypocrisy: Sarah Palin continues to slam gay marriage based on religious views, which is not surprising. What is surprising is that she has remained quiet on children born out of wedlock. Why is this important? Because her daughter just announced two days ago that she is pregnant with her SECOND such child.

I'm not talking about scripture supporting conservatives. I'm talking about the large number of supposed Christians I've seen who are advocating hate and descrimination. I've seen plenty of Christians who are against gay marriage who are not doing this, but plenty who are.
-
It's legal in most of the civilized world. You know who is as fanatically against it as conservative Christians, though? ISIS. Kinda ironic if you ask me.
-
I agree. He can't be pleased with all of the hate and discrimination he's seen.
-
Unfortunately for those of your belief system, yours opinion has become an antiquated viewpoint.
-
I'd be much more concerned about living in a country where religion is able to dictate the rights of those who do not adhere to their beliefs.
-
Should a state be able to rule interracial marriage illegal again? Was it okay that the Supreme Court made that legal in 1967, or were they overreaching then, too?

[Hidden Content] note that this comes from fox. Excellent read, and makes excellent points.

Good. -
This is terrible. I'm glad he was caught before he could do anything else.

That was in reference to blue dove's statement, not this incident

More often than not people want to fight the police, then complain when police fight back. All these cellphones, yet only a handful of incidents have been shown where cops did something wrong. But the way it's plastered all over the media, it gives the APPEARANCE of a huge problem, the BIGGEST problem according to some. In reality, policing can be a violent job, and never looks good on video. That doesn't mean that the vast majority of police aren't doing their job well. Even in this situation, as poorly as the officer handled himself, had the teen had any respect at all for authority and obeyed one of the several reasonable orders he gave her to leave, rather than screaming profanity at him, all would've been avoided. Her lack of respect was undoubtedly fueled by the misrepresentation of police in the media. Again, this does not excuse his actions, but as long as the media continues to fuel this fire of hate and disrespect towards officers, there will continue to be situations that escalate because citizens refuse to follow reasonable orders. And once things start to get out of hand, stuff like this will happen.
