Well… if you want to look at all 24 years let’s look at the 24 years before he took over… 69-157-3 … they were 15-86 the ten years prior to him becoming HC/ AD…I’d say he’s made a difference
it takes time to implement an offense and change a mindset in a program… especially one with a history of very little success… I think he implement the slot-t around 2006… after a couple years it caught on and more success followed than the program has ever seen.
Vidor was in 22-5A with bmt west brook, bmt central (there was no Ozen to take their players) , deer park , Laporte, lee & sterling through 1998. His first year in 99' coincided with a drop in classification. Apples to oranges

In 24 years as Vidor's HC, how many out-right District Championships has he won?
Vidor was in 22-5A with Beaumont Central, Beaumont West Brook, Baytown Lee, Baytown Sterling, Deer Park & La Porte up until the year Mathews took over. It's a variable that's seldom overlooked

The grass ain’t always greener. I hope they don’t find out, but have a feeling they may.
It doesn't hurt to try something different when the current system couldn't produce a .500 winning % or a single playoff victory after the drop to 4A.. There has been a lack of energy within the program ever since 2016

Vidors got to look for an outsider. No Slot-T, por favor. It's time for the program to evolve and this is their chance. It wouldn't hurt to change

I prefer British Knights, Troop or FUBU. Would do pro-wing if they were still around also

I truly believe that a coach should get a minimum of 35 years to figure out how to do their job and nobody should expect them to know what they are doing . I also believe the same about all other professions such as commercial airline pilots , train engineers, cruise boat captains . presidents etc. They will figure it out eventually, no biggie

Can't help but to notice that the Silsbee threads get a longer life than most other teams threads.

Understood. Do the coaches in Vidor just not know as much as the fans? or do they intentionally lose? I have seen scenarios where the fans are the true experts of the community while the coaches who see the players in practice everyday and during workouts for the entire year generally do not know much.
They know who needs to see playing time to keep their job for 23 years of losing. They know all they need to know imho

Live streams really hurt attendance. It will never be the same

So, Do Vidor folks seek "bad coaches"? Do they screen the good ones out during the interview?
No , they are just content with sub .500 coaching. its a culture

At least the Indians made it to the dance. No shame

And Lumberton just surpassed Vidor this year. (Lol)
Vidor increased from a .3517 to a .3543
Lumberton increased from a .3488 to a .3601
Baby steps!!
The fact that Lumberton hired a good coach proves they want to win as a community. Vidors community is complacent and content with losing. Both are trending in opposite directions
