    Big catch by Holmes.

Holmes was y'all's kryptonite for LP tonight. He had a great game!

PAM made some great adjustments going to a 5 man front, and those few minutes around the half turned the game completely around. LP missing an opportunity to score before half, PAM driving for 3 after half, and then the botched KO return by LP was all a big 13 point swing.

    Good game PAM!

You’re right. And that’s a shame. I do agree you have to have a shared focus on academics and extracurriculars for district success. Sadly, the latter is usually the main focus.

Not a shame. Not good or bad. Just human behavior.

Parental involvement is key to a successful school district. Parents who have kids in extracurricular activities are generally more involved. Extracurricular activities generally involve groups. This involves more people who are excited about their kids’ activities—and are more involved. This involvement and excitement is spread to those who don’t even have children in school. It infects the whole town. It encourages new residents and businesses to ‘come to town’ which—in turn—helps the ISD garner support from all for necessary improvements. (Both physical facilities, educational tools, & staff needs.)

Academics are more of a personal, individual activity. Exception being Academic Decathlon, Debate Teams, and those type extracurriculars. They can bring excitement also. Albeit, typically smaller crowds.

sorry to hear u won't be there. i hope all is well with u. as far as the game, i look for a fast low scoring game due to LP running attack. Heart says PAM, mind LP....20-14 either way

Ha! My mind says PAM. (But, with PAM’s schedule so far, it’s hard for me to gauge.) My heart says Dawgs.

I think It will be higher scoring. I’d be tempted to say 41-38 LP as a homer.

PAM/LP tilts are hard to pick when they both are close to their historical selves.

  4. As an outsider (with a lot of gray hair), it’s critical for a Superintendent to understand the pivotal role extracurricular activities play in the overall education process.

In a single high school town, the extracurricular activities are what the town rallies around. They can bring a sense of pride, which—in turn—brings more community/parental involvement, which breeds more success in academics as well as total well-rounded education. Successful extracurricular teams have historically provided more approved bond moneys than any other school activity. Just academics aren’t even close. Academics are great. But, voters don’t jump up & down & cheer for Johnny & Janet’s 4.5 gpa. It just doesn’t garner the same type of pride—even though it’s fantastic.

Those who only focus on academics are just as bad as those who only focus on extracurriculars for not helping their charges reach their full potential.

Pride in community is built quickly on successful Friday nights. Don’t underestimate  the power of this to get necessary bond money approved for other needed improvements—both academic assistance and otherwise.

    I wish Crosby luck.

well let put it this way..,when LP was in the gutter, yes we would see you post, but it was more of whoa is me post...now u thumpin yo chest...i like it...gets me fired up. Incase u forgot or didn't know, check the post count...im formally patitan. no skilled position match ups???? well according to you LP qb slings it alll over the place, gotta have some talent catching those passes...our db's vs those wr's is a match up. we shall see. oh and i;ll be sitting on LP side around 30 near the concessions if you wanna chat about the game...hoping the weather holds up

    Tiny Titan?

Wow! Hope you’re doing well. Glad I helped you get fired up for the game. Not sure where you read half of what you think you’ve read, but at least you’re fired up. 😎

Unfortunately, I don’t get to go to games much any more. I’m gonna try to tune in on the PAISD site.

LP leads the overall series 8-5. LP lead 8-2 until the last 3 years when LP had a new staff each year for those 3 years amid major turnover. PAM won in 2020, 21, & 22 to close the series gap to 8-5 LP.

LP’s staff is in their second year now. The HC was at LP previously, and WANTS to be here. The return to ‘LP Football’ is becoming evident.

    Should be a good game.

As I posted earlier, Calpreps has it at 41-28 PAM. We’ll see.

hey oldawg, i see you come out of hiding lol. you mentioned your qb is a pretty good passer? PAM probably has the top secondary in district. to boot, KWP have the #1 defense and i think thats because they probably played all the baytown schools therefore making the stats skewed. like most are saying, PAM CAN NOT PLAY SLOW FROM BEHIND!!!!!! my best friend would tell when you try to eat clock, you playing to lose(RIP Bigd92). Well if he was here i would tell him every time PAM gets the ball, they MUST score!! TD/FG JUST DON'T LEAVE POINTS ON THE FIELD WITH THE BS PLAY CALLING and MILK. THE. CLOCK!!! i seen in some games like porter, we snapping the ball with 15-20 seconds on the play clock. i get "titan tempo" (which is a catch phrase), but the best defense is sometimes keeping a hot offense off, espicially one that wheres you down while eating clock and scoring. trust and believe that's what LP is going to do. no doubt we have the better team....it's the stooges on the sideline that will lose this game

    LOL.

Not sure I understood all that. But, I’ve been on this thread since the beginning trying to help keep the rivalry/excitement level up. This rivalry goes back a ways and deserves the attention. I usually only post on threads involving LP where the other school has posters also posting. I rarely jump in threads that don’t involve LP. That doesn’t mean I’m not here. 😜

I’ve about run out of things about this game other than specific matchups, and I haven’t seen too many PAM fans want to get that deep. (There will be some good individual matchups in this game. Many won’t be the skill players.)

    I’ll just finish with this.

‘Better’ athletes is subjective, and don’t always make for a better team.

    I don't trust projections in a rivalry game. 😂

    Agree.

PAM had a pick 6 against Crosby. But—not being disrespectful of the young man—Crosby’s QB was not a very effective passer.

LP’s D has been very opportunistic with 4 INT’s (2 pick 6’s) in the last 2 games, and I don’t remember how many fumbles recovered this year. All while being pretty decent ball security wise.

If LP creates defensive scores against PAM, PAM’s in trouble.

Rewatching our last game again, we might be a faster overall team than last season.

Baker seems faster than Martin to me. Maybe just the style he runs. Big fan of ‘Pierre’ (sp). #14. He’s a baller.

Calpreps has PAM 41 - LP 28. But, Calpreps has been off on their projections for LP before game a lot this year.

With this being a rivalry game, I have no clue. It could go all kind of ways. I do think it will be high scoring. Say, O/U of 75.

    Petty 😂🤣💪🏾 I love it.

Yep. First ever win by PAM over LP. Hard to beat a good team 2x in less than a month. Especially when they know each other so well. I still think LP matched up better—matchup wise—to San Antonio whoever it was for the next game.

I am of the opinion that LP had a big letdown after beating Katy, and PAM had a big letdown after finally beating LP. I think we wiped each other out.

I wonder how many other times since a single district had 3 of the 4 teams in the Regional Finals at the 6A level?

@OlDawg we need an OT game 😂

    HA!

    I don’t remember ever having one…

Even when it was the 3 Amigos (NS, PAM, LP) playing each other in district or playoffs. I know a lot of folk think 21-6A is the SEC of TXHSFB now—and it is to me also. But, 21-6 was already one of—if not the toughest—when we were all 3 in it. Heck, WB was even somewhat decent back then. 😂

Numerous years NS was repping D1 & LP was repping D2. Of course, the year PAM finally beat LP (the first time ever) 3 weeks after losing again in district to the Dawgs will live on in infamy.

If memory serves, NS, LP & PAM were all in Regional Finals with PAM & LP playing each other again that year.

Long as we don't fold like a chair versus LP like yall did we got a shot. 🤷🏾‍♂️😁

LP won’t make it easy. Unlike Crosby, LP has QB’s that are actually accurate when they throw, RB’s that generally hold onto the ball, and players that know where and how to line up. PAM’s gonna have to earn this one.

I also noticed LP threw in some new wrinkles that PAM will now have to guard against. I’m sure they were added just to make PAM have to prepare for them.

PAM has a couple solid RB’s, and 14 is awesome. LP has 4 solid RB’s with Keenan back now, and 17 & 2 are definite weapons. Especially when teams have to stack for the run.

  12. Just finished watching PAM/Crosby game. This will be a good game. PAM will finally have to play a team with a winning record. LP will play for 4 quarters—and more if necessary.

This will be a renewal of an old rivalry. LP has been down by LP standards since LaReau retired with a spinning top of coaches. None fit.

Now, LP has a coach with previous experience at LP—who WANTS to be here—and build his own legacy with a historically strong program.

In his second year, LP is coming back with a vengeance.

LP still leads the overall series. PAM has been trying to catch up while LP has been down. Time may be running out on that quest.

  13. Interesting tidbit that shows some of the difference in LP of past & now.

LP has given up an opening drive TD each of the last 3 games against good competition. Worrisome. But, they have immediately responded with a score of their own. Against KP, LP only had 15 offensive plays all first half. Still lead 20-14 at half with explosive plays & D score. LP doesn’t have to control clock as much as in the past to be successful. They have big play potential. LP was averaging 397 YPG before KP. Not sure now with new stats. But, didn’t get near that—I don’t think—against KP. Still found a way to win. (KP has #1 D in district.)

LP’s district opponents are a combined 7-6 in district.

PAM’s district opponents are a combined 2-9 in district.

Doesn’t look to be any question who has played the tougher opponents, and haven’t even had a true home field advantage for any of them.

PAM always has athletes. Always have. LP’s cupboard isn’t bare. 😀
