  1. Calpreps has LP (61%) by 7. Massey has BH (61%) by 5. One of them will be wrong. At this point, all teams left are solid teams. LP and BH know each other from being district mates the past 2 years. But, this is a different LP team. I haven’t seen an LP team with this much offensive firepower since the late 70’s. Even with teams stacking nine—like Austin Anderson last week and Angleton (who has a very solid D)—LP is still rushing for over 500 & 400 yards respectively. They’re averaging right at 10 ypc. So—as I told some Anderson folks who thought they just had to ‘slow’ LP down to win—this isn’t a typical ‘3 yards & cloud of dust’ LP team. Meanwhile, the D has been very good at containing the opponent’s big weapons. Again, they held a high flying Anderson squad to their 2nd lowest point total of the season. That includes Anderson’s losses to AMC, CS, and Weiss. Typically, I’d say this game will be close. This time, I have to say, unless LP shoots themselves in the foot, I don’t see this one being as close as the last two between these teams. That being said, LP had 3 TD’s called back, 1 blocked FG, and 2 TO’s in the first half last week. One of the TO’s was a touchback from the 1. They still scored 42 with an explosion in the 4th quarter. But, they were also sloppy against Angleton after getting a big lead, and almost lost that game as well. They had to score a late TD to break the tie. So, I’m a little concerned about their mistakes. Soon, a team will make them pay. No matter their talent. Hopefully, the game will be streamed.
  2. I understand he’s (Simon #21) already being heavily recruited by Texas Tech & a few others. He’s special—if he keeps his head on straight like Bernard.
  3. Getting ready to go mow. Hopefully, for one of the last few times for awhile. Will have more to say later. Will say, if LP doesn’t clean up their play a lot, it won’t matter how much talent they have on the field. BH will make them pay. The Eagles know what to expect, and will be as prepared as any team this year to face the Dawgs. As for Morton, LP did minimize Anderson’s Small (18). So, they have the ability to control a very talented player.
  4. [Hidden Content] Hopefully, they got all that outta their system. That won’t ‘fly’ against the Eagles.
  5. Whew! 😅
  6. 12-5A was supposed to be a much tougher district according to the ‘experts.’ 11-5A held serve.
  7. La Porte will need to play LP ball. Pound it, pound it, and pound it some more. Keep #3 & #18 on the sideline. Not sure the D will be able to keep the air game of Anderson out of the end zone. So, use what seems to be (on video) superior depth and physicality to wear down the Trojans. I think Anderson will have a tough time stopping the Dawg rushing attack if LP plays error free ball. Just too many options to find the ‘hot hand’ so to speak. The ability to bring in fresh RB’s all game long is tough on a D after being pounded on all game long. D-wise, LP needs to wrap up and protect against the big pass play. Don’t let Anderson’s receivers get behind them. They do have speed, and LP’s pass defense isn’t their strength. They’ll need to pressure #3, and force him into errors. Massey & Calpreps have La Porte by 7. If LP plays clean, I could see it being much more than that. I’m going out on a limb with LP 42-21. Go Dawgs!
  8. After not having a true home game in over 2 years, and still winning 2 consecutive District Championships, it would be nice to see them have a good run. Their losses this year were in a heated, historic rivalry game to a 6A district co-champion PO team by 3, another 6A PO team from what some say is the toughest 6A district in the state by 7 (with 7 starters out) and PNG (still with 7 out) where the game was closer than the score. Yes. They’re back at full strength now.
  9. It is supposed to be on LPSportnet YouTube channel according to what they said last night.
  10. Austin Anderson vs La Porte Friday, 11/15/24 Abshier Stadium, Deer Park
  11. If LP can get by Austin Anderson, it would probably set up another LP vs. PAM matchup in the 2nd round.
  12. LP might host at Abshier next week as Deer Park might wind up not hosting since they’re losing to Dickinson big right now. In a 3-way tie in DP’s district, Dickinson would take the lead spot on point differential.
  13. Thought Kingwood would get in this year.

  15. Dawgs will be back-to-back ‘homeless’ district champs from two different districts. Will finally have true home games next year in the new stadium after two years of playing wherever around the GHA.

  18. All backups for LP. Of course, Bright & Simon are considered backups. LOL

  20. Doing good with updates. Thought this game would be closer & lower scoring than thought—with an outside chance of an upset. LP shouldn’t have let Angleton back in it last week. A couple friendly, home field calls and LP penalties changed the momentum.
  21. !!:0/42/2/2/00 Backups getting solid playing time. Don’t know all the call-ups.
