  1. Angleton and Friendswood keep rolling. Both teams are putting up solid offensive numbers. La Porte fell to a very tough PN-G team at home. Crosby held tough with Fort Bend Marshall in a very competitive game, and Kempner blanked Houston Wisdom for their second shut-out of the year. Kingwood Park put up good numbers again after their loss to Dayton last week, and the Cardinals got the better of the Eagles in the match up of the birds. Now, the preliminaries are over. Everyone gets a blank slate to begin the real season and district play after an off week this week for the district. We'll see what adjustments will be made and what has been learned as we head into district play.

  3. I’ve met a lot of really smart stupid people. Worked with more than a few.
  4. Looks like he put something in a ledge/gutter with one hand, climbed on edge of ledge, dropped whatever it was, jumped down, and then retrieved and ran. Since the authorities found the rifle in the woods, I’d make the assumption that was it. I said it wasn’t in his pants leg first thing.
  5. Klein ISD fires employee over 'senseless' social media remarks about Charlie Kirk A football coach with Klein ISD has been fired following remarks he made on social media regarding the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. On Friday, district officials called the comments about the 31-year-old CEO of Turning Point USA "senseless." [Hidden Content]
  6. They’ve been alternating in Wells (soph QB) at least one drive per game. IMHO, he is the more athletic with the better arm. Saenz is the 3 year starter. Wells played the last quarter or so of the game. I think I heard he was 14/17/100+ & TD. He had a drop in the end zone & the TE dropped one also before the penalty that set them back to 4th & 25 I think when they still had time enough to close it to one score with time left. Like a couple of Bailey’s, the ball hit them right in the hands. I hear the two QB’s help each other and work together well with no jealousy. So, I’m just thinking it may be good to start Wells once and see how it goes. You can always bring Saenz back in. The biggest issue to me is still the D. Of course, Bailey was throwing dimes last night. I think it would have been hard for any defense to stop. He was ON. En fuego! They said the 4th level of the press box was full of scouts. So, his stock hopefully just doubled.
  7. I've been worried about LP's D ever since the previous DC left for Shadow Creek. I know the new DC is probably very good. But, this is the most porous LP D I've seen in a few years. Even when they are in position, they seem to have forgotten how to properly wrap up and tackle. Part of that is the opponents they've played as they're all well above average teams. But, if LP doesn't get these issues cleaned up for district, they may be looking at a trip away in the first round. They need this off week to regroup and focus on fundamentals again. I haven't seen any real improvement since Week 1. I think it will be good for them to also have some time without all the press. Press has been crawling all over since before the first game. Not sure how much of a distraction it has been. But, I can't think it would be helpful. Friendswood always plays LP tough, and they look like they are definitely a better squad than last year from the scores I've seen. Really tough game coming up. Hoping this loss will help them refocus, and start fixing some of the issues these good opponents have revealed. May also be time to give Wells his shot. He threw some nice balls last night, and showed some good scrambling skills. Still, to be 2-1 (vs 0-3 last year) against the same competition with all the hoopla is not a bad start. Just need to keep improving.
  8. I understand the restrooms even have a/c. Haven’t been able to take Mama to an actual game yet. Only a pep rally. As nice as everything is & handicap seating, elevators and all, she still has to have assistance in the restroom and there’s no family restroom. But, you can’t accommodate everyone all the time. We can still watch from home. So, that’s good. She misses the bands though.
  9. Safe travels home Indian fans & good luck the rest of the way. LP needs their week off to regroup for district after the schedule they’ve played.
  10. Simon wound up with 145 & 2 TD. Obviously didn’t get the ball as much when LP got behind by so much. Wells (young QB) was 15/18/100 & TD
  11. Yes. I thought Bailey looked really good. LP tackling is atrocious still. Not sure what’s up with that. Too much head down & arm attempted tackles. Been talking about that for 3 weeks now.
  12. Should be a final I would think. PN-G stops LP on 4th. PN-G ball at their 20. 1:05 left.
  13. Wells with 100 yards passing. Good job young man.
  14. TD pass dropped on a pretty ball by LP
  15. Regardless of final score, the Indians have looked tuned up & sharp for district play. LP has looked flat & out of sorts all game.
  16. LP 100 yards in penalties. Hope they get it out of their system this game. Haven’t seen them this sloppy this year.
  17. TD pass Wells to Smith !!:35/21/4/7/16
  18. Wells is in the game at QB for LP. Up & coming sophomore.
  19. Henry for TD !!:35/14/4/10/34
  20. LP tackling is horrible again.
  21. Bailey is throwing a nice ball. Receivers have dropped a couple good passes.
  22. PNG stop on 4th & 1
  23. That PN-G jumbo package with 14 is nice
