I voted for his dad on his POTUS run. Rode many a late night flight back from Cleveland with him. He was the original ‘Freedom Caucus.’ He’d make me laugh because he was so cheap, he’d take the flight from DC to Cleveland red eye, and back to Houston and fly coach. Cracked me up. We had many good conversations on late night flights, and got to where we’d sit next to each other just to catch up. He’d always say, “Remember to vote for me”, and I’d laugh and say “I can’t. We have some very capable planners. Always have—except when the politicians get in the way. But, even the best strategic planners can’t make missiles fall off trees.
