1. Jacob Palmer...Buna back-up man...Ok I am a bit subjective here...thats my boy! No I'm not his Dad, but I would claim him.  He will be one to watch after #1 man moves on...may even be some help this year when Glenn has to pitch.  Jacob is a very good technical catcher and works very hard to be even better...FYI dependable hitter as well.
2. Errors, no hitting, and catching issues...not a good combination for the win. Kountze has to hit, play solid def., eliminate base running errors and get solid behind the plate.  Without those things you can have the best pitching in the world and you can still give up games to teams you should beat. Leadership on this team needs to draw a line in the dirt and say enough is enough. This team has talent and is deeper than most in pitching.  The only reason we have lost a game in district is because we have beaten ourselves. Deweyville, Buna, and East Chambers can't claim to have whipped Kountze...they won with our help for the most part. I here people wanting to blame coaches and to be honest there may need to be some positional adjustments and a bit of a tweek in the coaching department...any teams coaches can make that claim to fame...a good coach never stops learning and making assessments. I have 100% confidence in Kirby and Ramsey. One thing a Coach can not fix is the will to win! Players need to have heart and desire to be winners and dig deep when they are back to the wall. To the Kountze players...you guys are fine! Ya'll can be perfect the rest of the season...it's within you...come together as a team and open a can of whoop a- - and get to post season play!
3. Here is how I see this...Buna was on the ropes...knockout blow was on the way and Kountze ran head first into the turn buckle...The game was not a real win or loss for either team. Yes Buna got the W! Congrats...Look forward to round 2 with Buna and Deweyville
4.
Curious about the freshman players making an "Impact" on Varsity this season... Ethan Franklin - Buna Chase Shugart - Bridge City Grayson Padgett - Hardin Jefferson Reyzeir Wilkins - Legacy Christian Dalton Croft - Vidor Shane Selman - Westbrook Aaron Edelmon - Hardin Jefferson
Austin Marshall - Kountze (starts center field ) hit anywhere from 3 to 5 hole             Kade Shawver - kountze ( starts catcher ) varies in hitting line up
5. Don't know the thinking...pitching is pretty deep should be ok anyway...and thanks I hope he fetches well tonight as well as hit...tell Boo to have a great game as well! Austin was hoping to see him or Joe on the bump...you know he wants to pitch...may see him in late innings.
6. I don't even know why we should even play the game seems like Buna has a lock on it all...hell lets just caulk up district...the rest of us scubs will flip for 2nd and 3rd.  Looks we have alot of games are left to be played...Kountze is not a give me...either is Warren or Deweyville and we play everybody twice. Don't get me wrong I love to be the underdog that plays an over confident team...makes for good drama.  If Buna rolls through district unbeaten, then congrats you pulled it off and you deserve the hype. Even if you win district you deserve the hype...but lets play the games.
7. I think he was on cruise control at about 84-86...I saw him muscle a couple up mid game to maybe 87-88 enough you could see a velocity difference.  Only a junior???...will be a solid 90 when a senior...should get alot of looks.
8. yes...I am dad...I was being a bit sarcastic about the machine statement...mainly because Austin is friends with alot of Buna players...played years of select ball on The Franchise. Anyway hope nobody takes that wrong. And yes the Lions are hungry!
9. I will step out and say this...Kountze hits the ball, than Kountze should win. I say the score will be 6-4.  My reason behind this is simple...I think our outfield is very strong...granted it is anchored with freshman Austin Marshall, but he is a machine in center field. Gaps are not always safe. In addition he is flanked with great gloves and speed to left and right.  Our infield is solid and Pitching is deep. All that being said, it will be fight Friday night...Oh by the way fair warning...those Lions like to start eating other little cats about 6:30 pm! HAHAHAHAHAH LOL
10. Oh! Sorry Mr. Perfect...had a type-o...lose...just leave your finger on the o a hair to long and you get loose! Anyway most likely going to see Hoke then maybe McCoy and possible close with Marshall. You know the left, right, left combination. The other two mentioned in prior post do not pitch. I hope both teams show up and it's a dog fight to the end with extra innings! Just one catch...Koutze wins!
11. It was a pitchers dual, Pirates and Lions...no doubt! But, the chances of winning it all on one pitcher is not very likely. Talking to a Pirates fan yesterday evening said it all..."after him we are in trouble, but he is a talented pitcher".  That is straight from the rail-bird section...never too reliable on the hype in but usually pretty truthful on the other end.  Lions had one more mistake than the Pirates.  Kountze will look forward to Friday night with the Phenom...Cougars.  Just picking...Buna is a solid team and it will be great game. My thoughts....The game is Buna's game to win or loose.  They are the returning champs and Cougar hype is they should get #6 this year.  For Kountze...if they handle their business, #6 may not be a cake walk and it could turn into a three-way. Which would make it a who beat who situation in the end to decide district and or even post season play.  Kountze lost 2-1...I will pick the Pirates ace over most any team he faces this year...Congrats Cougars on your win over Warren. See ya Friday night in K-town

13. Better save a little for Friday night for Kountze....That should be a great game!
14. referring to the district those two teams represent...
15. Wow...Kountze and Warren still on top.  I know...Kountze and Warren have not played the schedule.  Well this week will tell the tale!
16. Actually Buna split with Kountze as well...Oh well it will get halfway settled this next week between Kountze and Buna...Round one atleast! Oh...Chubacabra (or however it's spelled ) don't be so angry. It will be okay...just take a deep breath.
17. Bleeding Blue baby!  I love it...you know if every school out in Baseball land had the intensity Buna fans have, well lets just say no game or conversation would be boring.  It's right that Kountze has not played all the teams that Buna has played, but that does not mean it's a done deal either.  I know everybody has always put Kounze in the roll over and play dead roll each and every year.  That stops this year! Difference; Kountze has talent that does not like to take the loss, and a coach that is none to hip on the idea either.  Kountze has just as much depth in pitching, fielding and hitting as Buna.  I think next Friday night is going to be a battle.  What is 100% true is somebody will walk off the field as the winner.  Both teams have talent and I think both have something to prove.  Buna needs to back up its #6 hype and Kountze needs to prove it belongs at the top. Now I am going to hype things a little bit for Kountze...They will become a major player in the 24-2a, because they have the pipeline full!  I hope next year when Buna goes up to 3-A...number one they survive football, but I hope Kountze continues to play Buna every year, because it's going to be real entertainment to watch the future unfold for both these schools!
18. Cade Deaver pitched the entire game. He looked good and stayed in control. Kountze again hit the ball very well.  Defense was fairly solid...minus the mishandle or two.  I think Kountze will be ready for district next week.  I think next week will be a challenge, but fun!
19. WOW! Kountze and Warren on top of 24 2A district, in latest poll...
20. you are 100% right McCoy is a great pitcher he is in mix for sure!
21. Koutze...have to say...Colby Price, Travis Hoke, Austin Marshall, Phillip Simon. Three guys from the Left and One guy from Right.
22. If Coach J gets past regional play... will he stay? or will he punch that ticket? Gotta wonder.
