you know just thinking...also can throw in two more soph. in baseball side that come from right side with multiple pitch ability...i know this is football but just saying...It could be a big swing for Kountze.

plus it's hurts no ones feeling that they can add to the football program...in addition his daughter is good athlete as well...all dist. honors kid...good things! 

I don't know when one looks at it...could be some advantages? I know his youngest has a big right arm, mid-80's and he would be joining another soph in Kountze that comes from the left side and is throwing mid-80's...Kountze would have a big impact for three years...not to mention his oldest boy is a good baseball kid as well...all district honors this year as well. He also plays Basketball and Kountze has the opportunity to go to Austin for the state tournament.  Anyway it has it's upside...just saying.

They had four applicants interview...Terry Joe Ramsey, Tracy Franklin, and guy from Spendora area and I think another from the Galveston area...not completely sure on this but I think I am in the ballpark.

Kountze been the coaching graveyard.  The reason, in years past we had an athletic trainer as the AD...smart right! Then we hire one of the nicest guys I have ever met and they ran over him...kids and certain staff because he was uncertain and the support was non-existent with exception of certain Board members.  Kountze has to have an AD with tough skin and the ability to put his head down and bull his way through the crap and blaze a trail of leadership in the athletic program. At the same time be a head coach that can be an effective leader and allow an offensive and defensive coordinator to develop an effective game plan and sit back and be the guidance and discipline on and off the field.  Lance was a great guy who cared about kids and for that I thank him! Lance would do great if he were coming in and taking over a program that was inline and running with some success, but in this situation he was throw to the wolves and expected to build a program with little or no direction from those who promised it. He was a first time AD and head coach and it was understood that he would need help...the question the KOUNTZE ADMINISTRATION need to ask themselves...WHY? I will tell you what I think...YOU FAILED TO SUPPORT LANCE DALE LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD!  The result another set back for kids and staff. 

nothing wrong with the Buna players...just kinda seems like Buna took alot of the honors and I know there was alot of talent out in the rest of the district.  Congrats to Buna Players and Coaches on number 6, great job!

Kids are lifting...conditioning and doing 7 on 7. Lance Dale will make a difference.  In addition, Coach Dale made it very clear that the HF job was the only job he applied for because it was his home town.  He is on board at Kountze and is fully engaged in turning the program around.  It did not get screwed up over night and it won't get fixed over night either. Time, and hard to be had by all, is the key to turning things around. Kountze did win the district Track meet and they do have more athletic kids in the athletic program.  Kountze also had kids go to state in Power lifting and Tennis. They went deep in the Basketball playoffs as well.  The girls experienced success in Volleyball as well as Softball.  Politics or not things will get better. 

Kountze won game with freshman Austin Marshall pitching...5 inning run rule 11- 1.  Five innings 15 possible outs...all strikeouts...15 k's for the game.  On top of that as a team kountze hit very well...great jobs guys...great job coaches... very pround of you guys!

wow...can't leave out the sac. bunt laid down by Cole Williams to move runner at first into scoring position.  Great clutch bunt! Over all great fight by both teams

Your right...ump strike zone was terrible...calls were terrible...shameful! But kids from both sides tried their best to overcome.  Both coaches made some big calls and took some risk that paid off. Most important the boys from kountze did not give up...great team effort...bottom of the seventh inning roudy teel started it of, followed by tanner malone and peanut edmonds drove in two runs then scored scored himself on and overthrow error. Making the score 6 to 7 east chambers then travis hoke and tyler brown got on and stood at 2nd and third. Freshman austin marshall batting two hole came to the plate...took strike one and then hit a p-rod to left center...doubled and drove in game winning two runs.  Was proud of the freshman...was cool as a cucumber...but big big team effort...proud of everyone of those boys on senior night...great job!

I have a feeling it will be Travis Hoke...don't think Colby Price will be back this week. I think they are wanting him to have a bit more healing time.  Hoke did a good job against Buna first time around...I think McCoy may still be out, so that would leave Simon. Deaver and Marshall; two rights and one left.

One thing is for sure...Kountze Lions can not give this game up.  IT IS A MUST WIN! Playoff hopes are alive with a little help, but dashed with anything else but a win. 

I agree...very tough when Howell is on the mound...maybe it's a confidence issue when he is not on the mound? Anyway time will tell, big games today and tomorrow!

You got that right!...thank the good Lord above he is keeping score in the box and the head coaches wife sit right next to him with a control to his shock collar...LOL! Just picking...he has actually been pretty good so far...guess he mellowing with age.

I disagree...Hoke and McCoy have pitched very well...given up very few hits and or runs...Price is our stud, but the bullpen has been pretty good...like I said pitching has not been the issue!

Wow...when folks get around a radar gun they get increasitis...lol...Colby is a very good pitcher, his velocity is well into the 80's...he hoovers around 83-85 and he has great movement and speed change and thats all it takes when you come from the left. Colby Price will go to Lamar and they will put him through the paces and add 5 mph to him in the first two years and maybe squeeze another two out by his senior year.  The key will be to teach him use his entire body, increase arm strength, and maintain arm health.  He will do a fine job at Lamar...Congrats Colby on signing...look forward to watching you pitch! P.S. Alot changes between a kids junior year and senior year of high school.

This is a must win for Kountze as well as Friday's game with Warren.  Kountze has to finish the front nine with even par.  For you non golf people...thats 3-3. Pitching is not going to be an issue for Kountze...atleast that has not proven to be the issue yet, but fielding errors and lack of hitting have certainly shown up. Kountze has to hit, field and be aggressive with the bases. Better leads and better Jumps...anyway Hardin and Warren must go down this week...no excuses! No disrespect to those guys...it's all about post season / playoff survival.

Re-do...Kountze needs to pulling for Buna in first round...Go cougars! beat as many as you can...Round two all bets are off!
