Hafford...but his playing time had been limited anyway due to lingering issues...but Williams and Powell are both back healthy and they have been doing 90% of the running back work.

Kountze guys you might as well be urinating into the wind as trying to reason with these guys on this site. It does not matter what is said because Kountze is awful and Woodville is next level, "AS LONG AS THEY DON"T SHOOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT". By the way that is the pre-game excuse for when Woodville takes a loss Friday night. If Woodvile beats Kountze than they just outplayed Kountze...Just have the same attitude when it goes the oppisite direction Friday night. 

I feel ya guys, I don't think Newton is the not only force and I know Kountze has to be ready every friday night and this past Friday they were asleep or atleast the Offense was sleeping...yes they stumble too a couple of times but for the most part they struggled. I will be a realist and say we better have our heads screwed on straight friday night or its is gonna be tough...mental mistakes must not happen. I agree we will be tough in basketball...but dang guys we are gonna be tough in football as well. We will see come FRIDAY NIGHT!

That is what I am talking about...back to the basketball thing...the last time I heard that I fell off my Dinosaur laughing.  Look I know it's been 39 years since a playoff run and Kountze has lost 99 to zero. Plus, I am sure we own many more records that prove how bad we have been in years past. That being said, I can see why Kountze gets no respect. I came from the opposite end of that spectrum being a West Brook Alum from the mid and late 80'S, so hard to fathom such a failure. The problem has been cultivated over years and years of only supporting One sport IE...why folks always say something about Basketball...Not that I am not proud of that, because I am...who would not be, but it has been the focus in Kountze as well as other non athletic extra curricular things. So what I am saying is, it's a bit deserved that our football program gets no respect because as a community and district we have not shown it much respect on the home front. Everybody commenting on this site from Kountze including myself at times has been hot under the collar about comments made about our Lion football, but guys it's just par for the course until we prove our turn around is real. My message to the rest of the folks in the district: I hope you all eat crow! For the first time in many years we have finally given our kids a fighting chance...we have put Coaches in place to develop our athletes and boy do we have some athletes. Things are changing and it will take some time, but we will no longer be the laughing stock of this district when it comes to our Football program. Good luck to the rest of you guys this year and when you play Kountze...come on down and live out the past attitude in the present and see how that works for you, because win or lose you will know things are different in Kountze. 

Hey Kvillecat, Look man just because Kirbyville has come down to 2A does not mean they should have automatic success. I know we are all graced with the presents of a team that got destroyed last year and based on that I think Kirbyville should have to prove their worth.  In addition, your record this year is not undefeated...I my opinion being new in the district and not exactly proven to be a powerhouse of any kind this year...well I feel you should just hush and play the game...let your play do the talking. Since this season started K-ville was going to destroy everybody and from what I have seen your not that great.  Have a good friend...ex coach turned administrator that lives in K-ville said you guys were not the anywhere near the team of years past, obviously excluding any comparison to last year...hey I am not saying K-ville will not be a player in this district this year, but face it your not building your case with granite, more like sandstone, if you base your material off current performance and last years record. Kountze is afraid of Hardin...Ohhhhhhhh Puddle! Your killing me jumping from topic to topic pushing your unrealistic smack. At least be real; I don't doubt Hardin is not afraid of Kountze, but I can assure you our guys have no fear either. Based on last year I don't blame Hardin for not being scared. After the first kick off Hardin will be on their heels and looking for the exit.  You will have to change your screen name to Puddleoftears! LOL...Now thats smack! Good luck my Puddle friend...we will see, but I do agree with you when you say Hardin is scrappy, but that won't win the game because The LIONS are scrappy,full of skill, speed and size...hard combo to beat: Don't you agree? 

PuddleOmud...love your grit ,but if Kountze goes out with the ferocity they are showing in practice, then it's gonna be a long hard game for the Hornets. Kountze has been off for a week and has had a great deal of work at defending Hardin Offense and Scoring on Hardin Defense. In addition, Kountze is just plain mad about getting beat last year!

All  *** 11 *** that no joke...Lions defense swarms big time. They all want a bite!

Now that was well said! there are bigger things than Football, but that being said if you are gonna do it all for the honor and glory of God, than give him your very best and that means focus and maximum effort! AS HITMAN said above to many weapons...don't forget #20 big Ernest Hafford...he is now getting his legs under him and is a load to stop! Now we got bigger bodies on the interior defensive line and that will cause a traffic jam. Coach Franklin is back and we are back whole again! HARDIN HORNETS....BEWARE THE PRIDE IS OUT AND HUNGRY!

I don't think we can afford to over look anybody...so I say we go out there and play like we are playing newton and then at half depending on our performance we adjust our personnel accordingly. I do think Kountze wins this big but we need to remember that last year we got embarrassed and Kountze needs to make good.  Anybody see what happened to EC last night...over confident and under prepared lost that game for EC. I don't want to be in that boat. Kountze needs to play Hardin with determination to win and win big. No mistakes, no mistakes and no mistakes...It's district and we are gonna have to be very efficient with our play! Kountze wins because Hardin can not defend the weapons...tooooo many with to much speed and size. Good luck to all and may the good Lord watch over our schools and fans.

This year should be a special year for Kountze Lions when one see's the point of conception and has followed this team...It is very rare to witness the likes of what has been no less than a spectacular transformation in the Football program.  I give a great deal of credit to the coaches, because they are the foundation for attitude and confidence.  Coach Franklin has added coaches as well as integrated existing personnel.  He has cooked up one heck of a gumbo and so far it taste great. In addition, I give the players a great deal of credit as well, they have given of themselves freely when it comes to this program.  They have owned it because they feel it is their program.  They have bought into Coach Franklin's system; a system that has nurtured a winning attitude that is team oriented.  They win for the guy fighting next to them, they win for the advancement of the team.  I say this because I listen to them and their responses to one another...if one gets down three pick him up...if the defense gets down and stumble...the offense catches the slack...if the offense sputters than the defense steps up...it is a real pleasure to watch a bunch of young men actually get it! Playoffs or not these kids are winners for just getting to the point they are at now and for having ever changed their lives from the experience gained and confidence instilled.  I hope they do get a chance to end the no playoff streak, it would be well deserved.

I kinda have t go along the same lines of top three being Newton, EC, Kountze...no particular order.  How it falls out after number three does not really matter because no post season play is on the table.  KJ123, I agree with you on Kountze.  One week at a time, beat Hardin, then focus on the next in line. I will say Kountze is the most improved team in 10-2A Div 1 at this point.  I will also opine on the the fact that Kountze is a very well rounded team. They can hurt you from both sides of the ball and special teams.  When you can score on special teams...well that's just gravy! (Brown gravy with the trimmings) It is a long season and Kountze will have to continue to develop and make adjustments. If they do that Kountze has the ability to do something special.  No question that Newton and EC will be in the mix, because they are quality teams.  Hardin struggles, Warren struggles, Anahauc struggles, Woodville, Kirbyville and Kountze is the battle front. I think Kountze will come out of that on top. You ask why? As I stated above...Kountze will come at you from every angle...you cant target anything specific, to many weapons, to much speed and back that up with size. Complement that with a very good special teams and you have the makings of a successful season.  Newton and EC best not over look Kirbyville or Kountze because they have the ability to beat you.  It's all good, time will tell, but things should shape up to be a very fun year in 10-2A Div 1. Talked with Football boys yesterday...they are determined to succeed with or without total support.  They said this was their team and their school and they were tired of being at the end of the line, they were tired of not being respected.  They know they are a target of sorts right know, but they don't care. This team wants to win and serve up crow pie for desert. Look I just want these boys to get the support they deserve.

Has not the outlook of Baseball in Buna changed with the transfer of a player or two...well this next year it should be okay but the following couple of years...looks pretty weak...we will see you guys back in 2A in a couple of years. I am sure the landscape will look way different!

Sand bagging or not...Kountze has sick kids so our depth will have to step up and win this game. Granted, I think our depth in most positions is better than most, but they still have to step up.  I am not worried about who has beaten who, because come Friday night it's going to be a tough game. Each team will have to come with the "A" game; that means make the plays you should make and don't have dumb mental errors that cost you points.  Kountze is loaded with speed and hitters, and we are not small. Trinity will have to play for four quarters, because the Lions will not lay down...Those days are over! Pray for a safe game and all those guys who are sick...pray they get well soon. Not going to make a score prediction, but will say if Kountze takes care of business than Kountze will get the "W"...Too many weapons on the field at once...can't cover them all.

I think its a bunch of Bull to call Shepherd garbage...they have a team that has a ton of heart and try. They will win ballgames this year. IDK...your team is worthy, they have a lot of great kids and you should be proud of them! Hope Kountze and Shepherd play next year. HD NATION...yours is coming!

Just figured out the HD Nation folks are on the joy juice...You got spanked last year and your claim to fame this year is a win against Hardin! Look I am sure you guys mean well and all, but lets just take a deep breath and get back to the reality of this impeding situation. The reality is HD Bobcats are gonna get beat...it's gonna be a horrible disaster for you guys...wait a minute, "horrible disaster", that must be what HD stands for...wow always learning something! Guys we can throw this smack back and fourth all day, but it will not change the fact that it gets real in about 8 hours and all the hype and smack get handed off to talking with those helmets and shoulder pads.  SMACK...SMACK...SMACK, kOUNTZE WILL WIN THIS GAME AND MANY MORE.
