Why don't you focus on King this week so Dayton can knock you off, you really shouldn't be looking farther than Friday night.  By the way, will we be able to spot you at the game from the dip cup your drinking from?

Don't dip and I won't be there. Hopefully I'll be off nights to catch the King game though. Despite what my post read, I'm really not too concerned with Dayton this year. If we play our game we should win rather easily.

I have only seen Crosby once this year and that was against K Park. If they play like that they will get blown out by CEK. I have not seen Dayton this year so I will not speculate on that game.

The stats don't mean anything, I don't even know why people waste their time recording them. It's not about the statistical breakdown and how you actually played during the game. As I've been reminded multiple times in this thread, the complete and total story of the game can be told by the scoreboard. I guess we'll have to see how that work out for Dayton Friday night.

Cougar14 wants to make fun of me for talking about stats aren't what matters so I have here some stats for y'all.
Dayton, crosby and kp all three have 2 common opponents take the box scores from those games and you get this.
Crosby had 468 ypg and allowed only 149.5 ypg.
Kp had 365 ypg and allowed 272 ypg.
Dayton had 324 ypg and allowed 180 ypg.
Going by this (cougar fans way of thinking) crosby should have easily beat kp and kp should have came on top against dayton.
End result crosby barely walks away with a 4 point win against kp and dayton wins by 7. But it's ok because kp had more yards then dayton so that mean crosby will easily beat them in the stats column, #scoreboard

That's what I've been saying. If Crosby even hangs with Dayton I'll bsirprised based off what the scoreboard has said so far. Plus Biz has new info that says we'll get blown out. I mean when you throw the history in there I don't see how we have a chance. I think evey poster so far has picked Crosby to lose. It'll be a miracle if we pull this one out, but hey, that's why you play the game.

Doesn't matter how many yards the rest were for .... it kept your D on the field. And you're right, Dayton and Crosby will match up differently than Crosby and kp.
To read your posts, it seems like Dayton doesnt have any strengths which would allow them to compete. I'm anxious to see.

Dayton's strength is their passing game with Keener and McBride. Those two will keep you in games just like they did last year but Crosby matched up well with them and will even better this year.

I haven't seen Crosby play this year, but when Dayton and Crosby play throw all the stats. and good or bad games out the window we all know that this game could go either way. I'm still waiting on Dayton to have their break out game like they normally do and this would be a great one to show up for. I'm going against the stats. that on paper Crosby is better and has played better than we have so far but I still like our chances.

The only stat that matters is in Dayton's favor. They give up more yards and gain less against like opponents but it's all about the scoreboard. This would be a huge upset if Crosby can win this one.

Alrighty... I'll ignore the big passes purcell made in the 2nd half while he was going 11-17 for 100 yards to keep your defense honest.

Purcell competed a little 2 or 3 yard swing pass to Reyna out of that tight run formation where he picked up about about 35 yards on a blown assignment. Those other 10 passes he completed for 60 or so yards really hurt us though. So did Henderson going 3-9 for 23 yards and 2 picks before he got knocked out of the game. Like I said, Dayton doesn't have a running game for Crosby to worry about so I doubt your qb completes his passes a that high of a clip.

Williams is the truth, he just doesn't get off against good defenses. We don't need 9 in the box to stop him, he usually doesn't even make the stat sheet against Crosby and Brantley has mustered up 7 points in two games against the Cougars. Just make sure you're looking over your shoulder while you're on our side, I wouldn't want you to accidentally get a dip cup wasted on you.

See... that's why you have so much "polarity" on this board... you're the facts man until someone presents you with some facts you don't like. Then you turn all sarcastic and start putting words in my mouth. Kp and ned have a bit of a passing game... you played them close. Both facts. That's partly because they were able to convert some third and longs with those passing attacks. Relax and don't let facts get you hot and bothered.

KP's passing game had nothing to do with why they played Crosby close. In the second half they went with a tight run formation that ate clock which you can see from the 239 rushing yards they had. I don't think KP threw a pass further than 10 yards pass the line of scrimmage if that which is why they had 0 points and 2 picks in the first half. Dayton doesn't have a running game like Ned and KP so their passing attack will be even easier to defend. They also have better qbs than Dayton does so I doubt y'all score much more than the 19 offensive points you got last year.

By the looks of things, crosby will turn it over (like nearly every other high school team). They have in all but one game so far. Crosby has played close with any team that has a hint of a passing game, so I like our chances.

That's why I said it would be an upset if Crosby wins. Dayton has an elite passing game with 13 tds and 9 picks so far. Crosby has struggled against the pass giving up 84 ypg though. Even though we gave up 124 passing yards to KP vs the 368 Dayton did or 197 to Ned vs the 312 Dayton did, I think you're right in your assessment that we struggle against the pass. The scoreboard is the only thing that counts though and it says Dayton should beat Crosby.

How is over 400 yards of offense and 6 TDs considered pedestrian? The offensive numbers that King put against Barber's Hill is almost the average that Crosby is putting up every week (according to District stats). When Williams went out-Brantley stepped up with 300 yards passing and nearly 100 yards rushing + 4 combined scores. I will take those "pedestrian" numbers very week.

Huh? King had 376 total yards and 5 offensive tds. Brantley threw for 279 yards and had 82 rushing. BH didn't have the speed to stay with King's receivers after they basically shut down King's running game. Brantley had 15 carries for 82 yards, the rest of the team had 14 carries for 15 yards. That's pretty pedestrian, you won't outrun Humble's dbs that way.

C'mon now that's funny. That insight was just takin potshots at Dayton cause the best case scenario played out for Crosby. Daytons win only makes it a sexier beat down win that Crosby WILL put on Dayton. I know you support your team but in reality they're just not athletic or deep enough to stay in the stadium with Crosby. Rivalry or not this game won't be close with Daytons athletes having to go both ways. It's pick your poison do you load the box and stop #2, #21, #24, #7 running the ball or do you play cover 2 and stop #17, #6, #16, or #10 receiving the ball. If the coaches so decide this could be like picking lotto numbers. Which six combinations do you want in the end zone? Write these numbers down cause in all seriousness that'll be the ones that cross pay dirt if not all of them. Then throw in a pick six or two and this game gets ugly. Now on Daytons side in all seriousness how many numbers or combos can you come up with that have a legit shot???? Bottom line in all due respect Crosby has too many playmakers just ask Dave Campbell

I heard Vernon Allen was going to be back this week, if he's 100% that's a big get for Crosby. I think McBride will have to man him up in the slot and Keener will have to man up Hudson on the outside. I think they'll both be worn out in the second half like they were last year allowing Crosby to have their way. I'm really not worried about either of them on offense because I don't think Baughmann will have much time to throw with Opi coming back on the d-line from injury. We also know he'll throw us a couple of picks and give us extra possessions. Dayton's defense has been shredded multiple times this season and I think Crosby won't have any trouble doing the same if they don't turn it over.

Dayton is favored in this game. It wouldn't be an upset if they win. They score more points and give up less than we do against like opponents.

It's not about putting up 600 yards of Offense and 60 points a game every game and demoralizing the young men playing.  I believe the Oakland Raiders said it best, "Just win Baby"!

Ok. I see the philosophy has changed from a couple of weeks ago when King dropped 69 on a one win Porter or 59 on one win Magnolia. King couldn't get 600 yards and 60 points on New Caney or BH's defense which is the only reason they didn't. I know Williams got hurt during the BH game but he had 7 carries for 9 yards before that, when he doesn't go off King's offense is pedestrian. King is going to beat Humble but they're probably going to have their lowest point and yardage total on the season. KP might pull the upset if Williams doesn't come back 100%.

Because they're not playing Dayton's defense. They won't get 600 yards on Humble. New Caney and BH also held them under their season average.

Dayton points scored=172 or 34.4 ppg points allowed=64 or 12.8 ppg
Crosby points scored=158 or 31.6 ppg points allowed=67 or 13.4 ppg
my money is on dayton by 7.

Cougar14 is secretly worried about dayton now. All you gotta do is read his past post and compare them to post now about anything regarding playoffs. September 29th cougar 14 states that dayton will struggle with kp and later said that dayton will be lucky to get out of first round, now in playoff thread he says that 22-5A has no chance of beating CEK crosby or dayton, just makes me think he is starting to realize that dayton is better than he thought.

22-5a seems a little weaker than I thought it would be which is why my prediction evolved. Right now it looks like PNG would be the only possible d2 team from over there favored over Dayton. You gave up 556 yards to KP and 247 on 6 catches to one receiver, I would say you struggled with them. Not that Crosby did any better though, after leading 21-0.

At the beginning of the season I thought Dayton was the second best team in the district, now I think they're the third. I pretty much feel the same I have since the summer about Dayton.

Not so sure the Cats will get in just because they beat BH. Could be possible they end in tie with NC record wise and NC would have the tie breaker. NC needs to beat KP to make this happen.

I don't think Humble will even get in. IMO it's going to come down to KP and BH on the last day of the regular season. It usually takes 5 wins to get in and New Caney has three as it sits now. The problem with that is they're very unlikely to win another game this seasons. It's. Going to be a good finish with BH, Humble, NC and KP still all alive for the fourth spot.
