I guess I'm just not in the know on some things. What's the deal with better school? Better school in what sense? Is D1 supposed to be the best school? I was told that if u want to go pro then D1 is the route. I've stressed to my son that EDUCATION is our top priority if he is blessed to go pro then that's an added benefit but I want to be realistic about it. As I've communicated with recruiters one of my first questions is regarding the graduation rate of athletes. I wish Robert the best in whatever route he takes.

I was at a game recently when an evaluation was being done. I know this because he had a notepad and pencil in his hand and me being the nosey person that I am asked him what he was doing. Needless to say the evaluator made more comments to people sitting around him than he wrote down on paper. After the game I saw him laughing and talking to the refs he was so critical of 30 minutes before. The only way to take a ref out of the game is to blow the opposing team out of the water early on and continually through out the game. I will say that the YMBL and last night are ranked with some of the worse called games I've seen but I guess that's why I am a fan in the stands and not a ref on the court. It's sad that the kids have to suffer because some adults dont know how to be adults. I cringe often when I hear that whistle blow alerting the players the refs are now physically in the building.  ;)

Ok injuries hurry up and heal, we need our big men in a bad way. We need some rebounds. I've said it before and I'll say it again "We will be fine". If I may use Ozensfinest's words from the girls thread "I'd rather lose now than later".

Ozensfinest, let me say this "I get what you are saying and some I agree with and some I don't". Several posters have made valid points. Again those that have read some of my posts know that I've had my share of disdain for the coaching staff. I've said it before and I'll say it again. WE WERE BAMBOOZLED lol. My son grew up under Boutte at open gym every summer for how many years I can't remember. Boutte formed a "relationship" with my son and several of the kids in that class and they thought they were on top of the game by attending open gym and Boutte communicating with them. Knowing they would play for Boutte, they couldn't wait to get to Ozen. For kids again this was the "hype". When he left Ozen and his replacement was named, the question was asked "Do I still have to go to Ozen?". At that time it was more or less write Central, WB and Ozen down on 3 pieces of paper and whichever 1 you pick is where you are going. I honestly wasn't pleased with the situation at either campus but Ozen had the edge. Now back to today, there are quite a few things I don't agree with concerning Ozen basketball. Do I voice my opinion to people YES in a respectful conversation and not for all of Beaumont to hear. Do I voice my opinion in front of my son or any of the kids NO cuz if I don't respect his authority then mine would feel that he could do and say what he wants. YES I say some things behind my keyboard but trust me it's nothing I haven't said to the coaching staff in a respectful manner. I don't want to see anyone and I'll never push for somebody to lose their job especially behind losing a tournament or a game. That Boutte era is over but that doesn't mean that the program hasn't been or can't be successful. I'm old but I don't recall a season where Ozen hasn't made the playoffs. Now as for this season, Ozen will be fine. We need to get our injured football players healthy and D. Sam as well. Myles and Caleb will make a difference down low. Our guards are there, we just need to get our lineups together. This novel was just written by a parent in support of my son and the Panthers!  ;D

We will be fine. Saveat is still trying to figure out his line up and rotations, which will be adjusted again once all our injured guys come back. This was a tournament while I don't like being on the losing end, give him time to figure it out and get it right for district when it counts. I expect great things from this group, Jakobi is going to have to step up and keep his head in it and set an example for the "babies" (as they've been referred to).
