1. Kountze has a good club but it's awful early to be talking about not losing another game. They will have to pick up the long range game to get out of the region.Walker and Brey are playing above the rim and doing a good job but their outside shooting as a team isn't where it needs to be yet.
2. This used to be one of the premiere tournaments in our area but it has really gone down the last few years.
3. They played in it and won it Donahoes senior season.
4. Goodrich beat Hardin by 1 so I don't see this one being close.Kountze by at least 20.
5. I think they would love to know that themselves.
6. There is a huge difference between attitude and passion.I gotta say he controlled his emotions in the HJ game better than I've seen him in the past.Maybe he's finally maturing as a player, if so he can be very good.
7. I watched Ricossa more than hold his own in the game against Kountze on pure heart. You gotta like a player who has less natural ability and steps up on pure hard work and hustle. He could play on my club any day.
8. We will have to agree to disagree on this one.I watched Hardin several times last year and Hunter was the only true basketball player on the club.I know teams mature from year to year but I didn't see anyone that was even close to Marsh or Nolan on last years club.
9. Silsbee beat Legacy by 60,if this is close the Sharks aren't as good as they should be.
10. They wouldn't be better than the club that had Marsh and Nolan on it.That club beat a very good Kountze club and Marsh was a difference maker. Is Hunter's knee letting him play??
11. I'm not counting EC out it's just that they aren't in the same league as Kountze.I don't think there is even a lock on the gym door at Kountze.
12.

Any body have anything on warrens team. I have spurger winning this one.
Warrens two move-ins(brothers) point guard and post, will be elgible for this game..........
They must have them hid, they weren't on the bench Tuesday.
13.
Have to go with Kountze at this time EC will have only had one practice and one game when this starts. Don't see them having there BB legs just yet and with their new center they wont have time to gel just yet. EC had a good run in Football so they will be a little behind the teams that don't play football.
Ther isn't a team in this tournament that doesn't play football. Some of them just don't play it as well as others  ::) ::)Kountze is going to be a big time favorite in this field regardless of bball legs.
14. Hardin must be much improved from last year.
15. I watched Warren on Tuesday(They were scheduled to play Wodville but got Chester instead). They play hard but are very small.Spurger will present matchup problems for them all over the court and should be the favorite.
16. You're giving EC to much credit.I think Kountze is the clear favorite but Orangefield is used to playing good teams and could keep it respectable against the Lions.Kountze wins this tournament easily.
17. This question will have a different answer everytime you ask it.High school basketball is all about match ups and momentum.Plain and simple regardless of the reasons head to head competion tells you who is the best and right now that would be HJ.They beat Kountze who beat Silsbee.I think the Tigers have the most talent top to bottom but I wouldn't bet against Todd and his staff if they were coaching Bill's school of the blind. There is a reason he has those kids in the corner and FYI Ricossa is the most overlooked player in SETX.The sky would be the limit for some players in this area if they had his heart. All 3 of these clubs are going to be very good going in to December.
18. McDaniel isn't a true PG and is inconsistant at best as a shooting guard.Walker is the the key to the Lions,he is the type of player that makes everyone else around him better.Brey is solid as long as he stays within 10/12 feet of the hoop which he did last night.I picked the Lions by 6 in this one but the Tigers would be the favorite if they play again later this season.Depth will be the biggest factor in the Lions getting out of the region this year. Both of these clubs are pretty dog gone good.
19. I got a chance to see Chester the other night and they won't win many this year. They struggle on both ends of the floor.
20. I watched the Sharks several times last year and they always played their best ball late in the game. That's a mistake a senior club shouldn't make.If they want to advance very deep in the playoffs they will have to learn to play 4 qtrs.
21. I don't remember if it was Johnson or Tealer. He was their leading scorer against HJ but more importantly he made good decisions with the basketball at crunch time.
22. I didn't see Whisenant in your starting 5 for Kountze. He started against HJ and he is the Lions 3rd best player.I've watched all these kids for years and he is one of the most consistant players Kountze has.Size favors the Tigers but the Lions play way above the rim.I think Kountze wins this early season game.Silsbee would win it a few weeks down the road but Kountzehas had more prep time and wins by 6. Ktz-80 Sils-74
23. Not a good start for the sharks but Deweyville always plays well at home. This is definitely a set back for SP.
24.

Spurger won't see another club like this once district gets here. This will help them get ready for the long haul.I was afraid depth may be a problem for the pirates. It's a crying shame to have a club as good as Cleveland and have zero fan base.
I beg to differ, whsalum. I say Spurger will face a better team than Cleveland on Jan. 12, game before district starts. That's when the Silsbee Tigers will come to town to play the Pirates. ;) ;D
Re read the post AAW.It says once district gets here,Last time I checked Silsbee wasn't in Spurgers district.I watched Cleveland a couple of times last year and while they were young they have all the tools, especially the big kid on the block,he is going to be a player to watch as he matures.
25. I may have over estimated Anahuac  ::) ::)
