Like I told my PEEWEE football players whenI used to coach........if you let a Ref decide the outcome of a game, you were never good enough to win the game to begin with.
 

IMO...Ozen is loaded with talent but that talent has to be coached up and developed and BISD has not done the best of job putting the right folks in charge of Ozen Football.  In addition, you also can't continue a revolving door either...Kids have to be coach-able and that starts off the field...plus, coaches have to coach and together they gotta have heart. When Ozen becomes a team with kids that want to be coached and coaches that want to coach...Ozen will play as team and execute. I keep waiting for that year to occur and watch Ozen roll...if your a football guy than you know thats special and fun to watch.  

JRidge...where you at the game or is all of your comments based on gossip? Did a high school ref do a poor job making calls? Maybe- but that was on both sides of the ball. I posted earlier that Lumberton was not 3 Scores better than Ozen. But Ozen needs to take a look in the mirror. Their coaching was very poor. Flagrant penalties (especially defensive offsides) killed them. Personal fouls killed them. The inability to approach Lumberton with an informed game plan killed them. The inability to adapt to Lumberton strengths and weaknesses killed them. Even their inability to utilize their best players killed them. Still can't figure out why they didn't expose the Receiver vs Corner mismatch. Ozen's receiver no. 18 should've had 8+ catches and 3+ TD's. There was no home cooking. If you want to blame somebody or some thing, go ahead and take a shot at the head coach. He is responsible for preparing his team & the game plan, recognizing his team's and his opponent's strengths and weaknesses and being able to make adjustments before and during the game to be able to expose those strengths and weaknesses to his team's advantage. Ozen's coach did not achieve those goals and his team lost. Bottom line. Yes I was there and saw each snap firsthand.

Gotta give it to the Raiders and Coach Babin. They ran the zone read very well and in fact the QB never pulled it and ran with it.  Ozen stacked 11 in the box and the plethora of backs for Lumberton kept getting 5+ yard avg on each run.  After all Babin was a RB in HS and CFB.  He knows how to coach them.  They threw when they wanted to and are very effective with it.  DC made good adjustments at the half and the D only got better.  They had about 3-4 coverage sacks in the 2nd half and had the Ozen QB running for his life.  They may not be large in size but they will get after you.  Loved the Wildcat package with #33.  That kid is a load...heck all their RB's are good!  Proud of the Raiders!

They were the underdog last night and dominated. That has to be a HUGE confidence builder. I say Lumberton by 1 score..... 

To blame refs when u get beat by 22 is desperate and not willing to be honest with yourself in regards to where your team stands. Lumberton players are disciplined they exicute and are coachable. They play with heart and with gritty  football instincts. Now give me some insight on Ozens players beside being tremendous athletes.

Any thoughts on that analysis now??? Lol.

That's hilarious. The Ozen team has some definite talent. I would have thrown to no. 18 all night. Poor play calling by the Ozen Coaches in my opinion. Lumberton is not 22 points better than Ozen. Ozen players made a lot of penalties ( nothing to do with the refs - more like poorly coached kids). Ozen had no answer for Ltowns all night inside downhill running. Lumberton's O Line dominated the Panther's D Line, no doubt. But I still think Ozen could just have easily won that game with a better coached team and/or a better game plan. Good game Raiders. Don't let up.

Yes. Congrats Lumberton on the win. The Raiders were the more physical team by a long shot! Lumberton dominated the Panthers defense by running the ball down their throats. The Raiders exposed some really soft and scary players on Ozen's defense. Good win and congrats again.

Most pot stirrers pick and choose whatever fits their agenda. Kinda like politicians. ;-)

That's interesting because we were not favored to win our last two games.  But now you are saying we "should" beat these schools.  I'm curious, did you also say  4A Bridge City should have beaten 3A Newton after their game?  Or does this logic only apply to 5A vs 4A?
