Smashmouth is a little too big to fit into any lockers, even way, way back then.
Ok, I'll admit I'm not always "responsible" with my predictions.  I'll try harder now that I know how important that is on this forum.
Zamean and Mason were big losses, no doubt.  But I think the Raider defense will be OK given the change in personnel from last year to this year.
I "think" our corners and safeties are better at this moment than they were at this time last year.
I don't remember Smash's other bullet but I'm certain it was profound and worth re-reading, for someone else of course.
I should point out that the guesses and predictions that I made earlier and am making now are not based on Smash's level of research, film study, and examination of mounds of empirical evidence available on 16-18 yr olds in Lumberton and/or Silsbee.
I predict that Silsbee will break a couple of long runs and we won't catch them.  They may even complete a short pass that turns into a long TD for the same reason.  I also think the Raiders will pop a few long runs resulting in TDs.  We have a few kids that can go at the RB position (fast enough to outrun Silsbee in the 100m last year).  I predict this game will be decided by which line blocks the best and more importantly, which defense tackles the best.

No humility needed.  I have a ton of respect for Silsbee and I know that the results of their games against PNG and Nederland were no accident.  They are big, strong, fast and physical.  We will have our hands full and then some.  It will be a great measuring stick for us going into our bye week before starting district.  There is a LOT we don't know yet and tonight will help us learn those things.  Good luck to both teams.

Won’t humble me because it wouldnt surprise me.  I will support And root for my team, but let’s be honest; Silsbee has much better athletes. If people can’t see that they are either blind, or choose not to see it so they can come on here after and call for Coach Babin’s job. Watch and see...

Well, I am a numbers guy... 11 is approximately 57% more than 7.
57% is more than 1/2 (do you see where I'm going with this?) That is lopsided!...
I don't wanna hear that same ole whiny crap about "they suit up more than...blah, blah, blah....vomit". If you need to suit up more kids then that's your school's/community's/coach's/parents'/kids fault. Get more kids to play sports - football in particular. Newton plays about as good a ball as anyone in this area - wouldn't you agree? They beat Silsbee by 3 scores. They beat WO-S. Do you think Newton uses that sickening excuse of being a smaller school or not suiting up as many kids? No! The difference is they refuse to accept mediocrity like LC-M does (among many other programs - not singling LC-M out). Winning is a culture. It's not something that happens by chance.
Since this is just a Sub-Varsity thread, I will save my "Winning is a Culture" soliloquy for another time... Meanwhile, please realize that with comments like "11-7...(is) really NOT lopsided..." is proof positive that you're complacent with mediocrity. You're actually trying to say that 11 losses and 7 wins ain't that bad...disgusting. I'm sorry, but it is vulgar in my eyes to accept mediocrity.

Honestly, I wish LC-M varsity could compete with the likes of PN-G. They can’t. A couple years ago I posted about winning programs like Newton, WO-S, PN-G and what they have that makes them winners... Schools like LC-M, Lumberton, Bridge City have never been able to figure out the formula. I’ll bet on The Indians over them Bears every time, and I’ll guarantee you that I’ll come out ahead...

PN-G sub & Varsity have no problem with the LC-M ranks.

I think people really need to commend Beaumont ISD, HF, and Vidor for getting right on it and yes it is tragic that this is happening to places that were just hit two years ago.
To put things into perspectives about just how fast things are moving for y'all, my island was destroyed by Typhoon Yutu about 11 months ago, we lost school for over a month that we made up in June. Even to this day, we have 1,000 middle school students who are going to school in a makeshift location in military tents because their school is completely destroyed. 2 other elementary and 2 other middle schools are going half day because parts of the schools were destroyed or damaged. Work has not even started on trying to fix any schools. Another elementary and middle school are combined and going half day because 1 week before school started their elementary school's electrical wires burned out and it will be January before it can be fixed. Out of 14 public schools here on island, 7 schools are still affected after a year. Part of ours is different because the storm (and other things) ruined our economy (government can't fund the schools) and we can't even meet the 10% FEMA match to start rebuilding, but the point I'm trying to say it is very impressive how quickly all the school districts are working to fix things to help the students get back on track.

Well put both Teams got a lot out of it. We as fans always look at games as wins and losses but there is more important things then just the wins and losses before district. It is execution and the coaches have to see if the players are going to execute and how they will execute the plays, even during adversity. When Evadale Coach asked the boys (my son is starting SR receiver) about playing they were all in for it. Some of them thought it was crazy a 2A playing a huge 4A school but they were just wanting on the field to play and then also getting to play on the turf field. I was proud to see them never give up even when the score got lopsided they continued to push through being tired, Hot and worn down. I know our coach walked away from that game knowing that his boys have determination to play at ANY level. Lumberton may not have gotten as much out of it but anytime you can get on a field and run plays and then the coaches watch video of the game you are getting something out of it. Proud of both teams and coaches for putting it together. Like you said for those few hours the boys, fans and coaches forgot about Imelda and got to do what they wanted to do, "Play Ball". After the game told the whole story, Rebel Players and Raider Players stood on the field and off the field talking and taking pictures with one another. Boy, if everyone could have that spirit instead of the attitude of Coaches being crazy and teams getting nothing out of it. To me if we watch how our teams, coaches and players act at the end we would get more out of it.
Good Luck to the Raiders and Rebels Teams this Friday night.

Evadale RB is a man-child.  QB was good also.  They had good athletes and good size. Evadale is going to make some noise against opponents in their classification.  Good luck to the Rebels.  I was worried about us playing down like that but it was really good for all these players and coaches to get this game in.  Both teams benefited from it and also took their mind off of the Imelda mess for a little while.

If you don't mind, what does the bolded part mean? I get #3 (although I don't think you do - I was joking of course), but before you call someone Big Dummy, go back and read your posts...
I hope your kids get to school soon. I don't think they're going to get much in the way of schooling at home.

So, a couple of pieces of advice and commentary to Mr./Ms. Pakronos:
    1. When speaking of the importance of education in our children's schools, it may be important to try to check your post (before posting) for grammar, punctuation, capitalization and all around readability. I think it would a little more credence to your post.
    2. Since your other thread was locked, there's a good chance your audience, the reader, never got the chance to view your previous words of wisdom and the initial basis for your post in the first place. Perhaps a little background first would help to capture your audience's attention before they give up trying to understand and are left wondering what day it is...
    3. What do you mean, " Lets FORGET about the sports...". Sports, namely football, is more important than anything else a student can learn in any classroom! Silly person, you have a lot to learn...
    P. S. I was thinking of transferring my kids from Kelly to BU. Thoughts???

Although much of your post is incorrect, the one point you made was a good one. Evadale’s offense was better than what the scoreboard showed. Evadale defense had no chance though. Good job to a well-coached good bunch of kids from Evadale.
