1. I think they will beat Hardin as well this year!  Even if they go 4-6,  much better than they been anyway....might even have a shot at Kountze as they will be ready for the hardwood at that point.  They could go 4-6 or 5-5.  I wish them the best!  Those kids over in Warren have always worked hard! Best thing they did was hire someone who likes to run the ball.  Trying to throw the ball every play in Warrior land every play was idiotic the last two years. JMO
 2.
I've seen so many posts with those words " Twine will get his" exactly what does that mean to say?football is a team sport and the WHOLE team should be working hard for the win. Just wondering.
It means just what it means.......Twine will get his TDs and yardage because he is a player.  WHO else is going to score for the hornets?????????  Because they sure as heck are not going to stop anyone.  I wish them the best but MY opinion is I think WS has the better TEAM and not just one superstar!
 3. Twine will get his but WS will be too much......WS in another barnburner.  WS 52, HH 38
 4.
That is something else..wow..so Pine Cone Bowl this coming friday?  Hemphill better be ready because Pineland West Sabine will be ready to avenge last year's showing.
I wish the hornets the best but last year, all everyone heard was the defense was awful because of the previous staff.  WS will be pretty good.
 5. Can't blame this year's poor defense on the previous staff.....lol
 6. better hope Twine does not get hurt!  Still wont stop anyone on Defense........58-34 Garrison.......
 7. excuse me.....they havent stopped anyone in 5 years.
 8. Thats all the hornets have.......Twine will score 4-5 times.  I pick Garrison 58-34.........HORNETS have had a defense in 6 years!!!!
 9. Do people notice how we don't see Newton on here very much talking smack?  Their reputation speaks for itself.  As for Kville,  the wildcats were pretty much the armpit of east texas until Jack Alvarez came........EC was the same way 20 years ago.  My opinion is EC and Newton will fight for 1 & 2 and Kville,Woodville and possibly Anahuac will  duke it out for #3 in this district.  Check out Lonestar football netwok.com and you will see what EC and Kville did before their respective coaches came.
 10. Kirbyville is going to get hulled out in their district.  My picks are Newton,EC, and Woodville....EC could win the district.  Kirbyville will get 4th in this district.
 11.
Newton gonna get it handed to them when they play Kirbyville this year.
We will see.......dont write checks yours a$$ can't cash!
 12. I want to ask Grimes this question, "HOW STUPID ARE YOU????"  Grimes had the best sixman football job in the whole state.  Never a shortage of talent in Calvert.  Hopefully it was his brother behind this and Grimes was at the wrong place at the wrong time.....I would hope this HC was not involved.
 13. Kenny is a good guy and good DC........not much want to in Timpson these days.....no desire whatsover from what I have seen there the last few years!
 14. I wish people would leave this kid alone and let him be an athlete and play whatever he wants......ALSO I am sick of theses idiot dixie baseball coaches trying to tell him not to play football and concentrate on baseball.  I say to these dixie baseball coaches to get a life and quit living your dreams through this kid.  LET THE KID DO WHAT HE WANTS!!!!
 15. On March 27, the school board approved Huckabay's extension with three in favor, Thad Angelle opposed and Jack Smith and Susan Gunstream abstaining from the vote, after going into executive session for almost two hours. Angelle, who has one son currently in the athletic program at Orangefield High School, said he voted against the extension because participation in the program has decreased under Huckabay, with the district fielding just a varsity and one sub-varsity team the last two years. Some of Huckabay's practices, such as requiring athletes in sports other than football to lift weights during their athletic period on gameday, have been discontinued by interim superintendent Kay Karr, who took over in March. Karr said athletes are now able to practice their individual or team sport in-season during the athletic period rather than doing strength and conditioning workouts, which had been the case under Huckabay until March. Read more: [Hidden Content] Since when should the supt. or school board decide what the coaches are supposed to do in the athletic period????  I dont agree with the players lifting on their game days for any sport but let the guy do his freakin' job.  Thats the difference between WOSs and Newtons, etc and the Orangefields.  Let the coaches coach!!!!!!
 16.
Finally got something out of the KGB ah DISD Board (lol) that Chris Babin from Lumberton has been offered the job.
They already knew who they wanted for the job.  You had alot more coaches with better resumes than this guy........I am sure this guy will do a good job.
 17.
Did we ever get a list of the finalists?
I think they already knew who they wanted to get the job.....thats usually why some are so secretive.......I would hope Pachuca or Cauthern would be some of the names they would be looking at!!JMO
 18.

A nice list of names here as well.
Very nice list.
I thik Chris Pachuca should at least be in the finals and should have a good shot at the job.  He did a real good job when was in Deweyville as the Oline coach/DC.  He knows the kids and what is takes for them to be successful.  I don't think some of those on the list would be a good fit.
Coach H at Deweyville is doing everything he can with what he has........Do you really think a different coach could/would have different results playing a salty Kountze team year in and out??????  Pat Riley could not coach the pirates and do any better.  I am sorry but deweyville just does not have the players to compete with Kountze.....The pirates would fair much better in 1A.  I have known Brad for a couple years and he is doing everything he can do......SO dont mess with the guys livelihood unless you think you can get out there out coach'em up yourself!
Deweyvilles Basketball program has been horrible sence Jackson left. As for as coach H there is a lot of good players that wont play so that by it self hurts the program, but in a way i dont blame them for not playing when the coach over and over tells them that they or not there to win just to have fun and i have never met a kid yet that thinks getting humiliated at a game by losing by over 100 pts FUN. That bing said i dont think another coach could help deweyville win destrict, but I think we could compete with all these teams and make the games closer. This is just my opinion and NO my kids do not play Basketball. But I try to follow all the sports in deweyville. Jackson's last team in d-ville won 2 games the year he left, the next year the present coach took over and won 10 games, then he won 18 games the year after that, Even if the "so called" good players came out like they were supposed to they would still not be able to compete in this district....maybe another coach comes in and gets kids believing....so what? KOuntze beats them by 50 intead of a hundred,  Its easy to second guess the coach when things go sour...The problem lies in the fact that Deweyville has 1A numbers playing in a district with teams who have large 2A numbers hence more athletes to choose from.  In Kountze/EC situation..better athletes to choose from...just sayin
21. Why is haynes leaving Hardin?  Did he get fired or is he leaving on his own?  What was Hardin's record this year?  Didnt they go 5-5 last year?  One bad year I would think they wouldn't they would pull the plug especially in that district.  I had heard he never tried to develop any of the lower level talent at the JV or JH levels.  Who know....JMO
...they get ready for roll the basktballs, really? Please tell me your not an English teacher. Keep your heads up boys, you've got nothing to be ashamed of. You brought home a district title, made it to the second round of the playoffs, and finished two places higher in district than anyone predicted you would. Oh yeah, and completely dominated 7on7 this summer. Not bad for the first year under a new program! GO WOLVES !!!!!!!!!
Excuse me....They get ready to roll the basketballs out every year at this time.  I apologize for that.....sometimes I get to typing to fast.
