@ jlc......SA has athletes every year to win year in and out.....SA does have the tendencies to squander their talent for whatever reason.  SA should be in the playoffs in football and basketball EVERY year.  They certainly have more overall athletes than Hemphill.  I know hemphill has the Twine boys but if you take the Twines out of the equation, how good would the be?  Probably be Ofer IMO.  Maybe its different now at SA. No disrespect toward anyone....just an opinion!

@ jlc.....I have no dogs in the fight when Hemphill plays SA....all I said that is SA would be ready to play b-ball if they didnt win the first couple of district games.  Besides  I never said SA was not capable of winning or even being in the playoffs.  IMO SA tends to not play hard if they get to the end of the season and have nothing to play for.  With that said,  If SA is in the hunt by then the very may very well beat Hemphill.  SA has as good of a chance at the playoffs as anyone.  I would even go out on a limb and say Deweyville has a a good of a chance at making the playoffs in this district.  No disrespect to SA or Deweyville or anyone in this district.

Hemphill deserves to have a little success after the circus that went on last year!  On the filp side,  Hemphill is finally letting the HFB coach run it like it needs to be run.  Change was obviously needed but part of Hemphill's problem last few years is that ADmin. and board was trying to run everything.  Congrats to Coach Stanley and his staff!  Well done!

The Twine boys will part the indians defense like the red sea.  Hemphill wont stop them either! I say Hemphill 56-38.  It could go either way....As for SA-It they dont have success early in district,they will be dribbling basketballs last hour during athletics the last 3 weeks of district......NW should be in the hunt and CC bulldogs will run the table in this district (the bulldogs are the best coached and most disciplined team in the district) ....and I am not from corrigan either!  I think anyone can play can make the playoffs here in this district.....CC-favorite and DP being the underdogs. Coach Ramsey was there 10 years and besides the one year in the playoffs...they never won more than 4 games in a season athough they were competitive while he was there most of the time.  He truly got the most out of his kids while he was there!  I think barbay will too eventually but talent comes and goes but talent seems to be more consistent in Newton,EC, and Anahuac,etc.  You might have a real talented group come through Warren every 10 years.  JMO.....as long as they are tryin....keep your heads up warriors!

[/quote] You could have Tom Landry back from the dead go in and coach the warriors and you would still get the same results they have gotten under Barbay and previous coach Ramsey.  Warren is in a district where they have the least talented team and very tealnted district.  Do you honestly think Warren will ever be able to compete with Newton,Anahuac, or EC?  Even Buna?  or Hardin? Can't blame the coach always.  You still have to have the tools in the shed to do the job.  A good carpenter has a hammer and nails right?  Samething in coaching.  No talent...very little chance of success! JMO

Get real, that doesn't even make sense nor does your logic.  ::) [/quote] All I am saying is Corrigan,NW,SA,HH,Groveton are not HI,Warren,HD,and Sabine Pass.  I like that pirates because they have always got after it but fact is fact....they will not win a game in this district, but thats why we play the games but Dville can't catch Horace from CC or the Twine boys from hemphill.  I just think Dville's non district schedule is a joke.  Coach's do what they gotta do to get some wins especially if you know you probably won't compete in district.  I will EAT CROW if Dville wins more than 1 game in district...teams like SA and hemphill can self distruct like they did last year but I dont see it happening.  I just don't think you can use teams like the ones d'ville has played as measuring sticks.

The truth hurts buddy.  I think Hemphill has a good shot to make the playoffs.

I hate to say it but HI needs to just play sixman or not play football at all especially with their HS numbers being around or less than 100.  I hate how school are too proud or say its a "step down" to play sixman.  Some school would rather play 11man and get their faces kicked in or not field teams consistenly due to injuries,grades or whatever.... HI needs to find a way to help these kids have success.  I think if they want play football they should go sixman so they can have a chance to compete and maybe be competitive.  Just an opinion.

Haynes and Hardin hasnt tried to develop anyone in the earlier grades.  I remember a few years ago their varsity was loaded and the JV and JH teams were really down.....sooner or later if you are down you have to think about trying to develop what you have if you know you are not going to be very good down the road.  SOME coaches are what I like to call "talent jumpers".  They coach up the good ones and forget the rest and leave.  I get coaches want to get better jobs down the road but you have to coachem all while you are there. Just an opinion. As a coach you have to try to coach them all!

Where did jason go? Did he take another job?
