  1. After first week of district (district standings) WOS 1-0 HJ 1-0 Orangefield 1-0 Silsbee 0-1 BC 0-1 HF 0-1 Possible. But we'll see!

  3. This is so wrong. They should have to give up half of their home stands. In fact I think the visiting school has the right to demand equal seating. They should check with The UIL.
  4. Bridge City's players go to the side line or on the track right in front of the band and sings the school song. A nice tribute to the kids that doesn't offend anyone. If you are going to sing your school song then you should do it for your fans and not antagonize your opponent in doing so.
  5. If everything goes like it should I think BC will win but it will probably be close. Good luck to both teams.
  6. I was there. A great game that could have gone either way. Congrats to both teams on a great game.
  7. Okay. Vidor has not been tested yet. They are off this week. District starts next week and I think they will be tested in district and I think they will do pretty good. They will be in the play offs. Whether or not they will win district is still to be determined. They have a good chance.
  8. [ Obviously Hooks and Barbay have had great sucess, but I always wonder "what if" Hooks had been at say, Bridge City and Barbay had been at say, Warren? Easy to win when you restock with NCAA-like talent each and every year, IMHO. Then I would say that BC and Warren would be winning just like WOS and Newton. Good coaching develops players skills. In the mid 70's Doug Ethridge had the supreme program in southeast Texas going to the semifinals or finals four years in a row. And won one state championship. The second team he fielded at PNG the Indians went to the semifinals and lost to Brasoswood by a score of 14 to 7. They did everything but win the game. There was no player on that team that weighed 200 pounds or more. They were more than well coached. Their talents had been developed by a superior coaching staff in my opinion. I put Hooks and Barbay in the same category as Doug Ethridge was. I only wish BC would hire a coach of Hooks quality. Not only is he good he is also very loyal to WOS. PNG has a new coaching staff and the whole school district fans are going crazy over him. He has all the makings of meeting the qualifications of Hooks, Barbay, or Ethridge. Only time will tell.
  9. Orangefield is doing much better than most fans thought they would. The cats should win easily by a big score if they play like they have so far this season.
  10. It is supposed to rain like this through Sunday or maybe even Monday so no postpones but probably cancellations. I hope not.
  11. The stands look pretty full to me. There are more people on the home side than BC usually has in the whole stadium.
  12. Silsbee @ Lumberton Kirbyville @ WOS Anahuac @ Tomball Concordia Beaumont Central @ Galveston Ball West Brook @ Spring Westfield Bridge City @ LCM Buna @ Tarkington Conroe Caney Creek @ Livingston Diboll @ Newton East Chambers @ Hamshire Fannett Hardin @ Shepard Hardin Jefferson @ Vidor Hemphill @ Deweyville Houston Worthing @ Beaumont Ozen Kountze @ Evadale Liberty @ Orangefield Port Arthur Memorial @ Aldine Nimitz Texas City @ PNG Waller @ Nederland Warren @ Woodville
  13. Gut feeling says Liberty but I will be pulling for Orangefield.
  14. A win is a win no matter how you get it. The defence did a very good job. They hit hard and wrapped up nicely. Liberty was able to gain a lot of yards in the second half because they went to a more smash mouth offense and shied away from the passing except for the short passes which they were very successful with. BC had three big plays in the game. The two K O returns and one long pass and run play. Other than that the offense did not do very much. A few times the moved the ball with a fairly long run but it was called back because of a penalty. We play Kountze next and should win that game also. Kountze will not be a good as Liberty. In my opinion Liberty pretty much controlled both sides of the ball. Look at the stats. Offense needs to step it up a little. Keep on improving and by the time districts starts maybe they will be all right.
  15. 23-15 BC. Liberty scored two TD's. Kicked the extra point on the first then completed a pass in the endzone on the second TD.
  16. Larry Ward stadium watching the Cards and Panthers. Always a good match. come on Cards.
  17. I hate to be negative. Buuuuut, what is happening at BC? This should be the best team they have had since Stump took over. I mean they have been under his toutelage for three years now and they have 10 starters returning. 5 on offense and 5 on defense. I did not see the scrimmage but I would like to know where the problem lies. Did the offensive line get manhandled by Sherherd? Why would a offense that has been run for three years with at least 5 starters not be able to score? Maybe it is time to rethink the whole offensive scheme they are using. Are the coaches not working the boys hard enough during the off season? All I have been reading about is how hard Coach Faircloth at PNG is working his boys and it looks like they are going to be at least a decent ball club the first year he is their coach. What gives? Is the problem with the offense and defense they are using or is it coaching.
  18. That would be the TJ vs PNG game where Wayne Legraph kicked a field goal just before half time for TJ. They called a time out, (5 Th), just before half time and was granted it. TJ won the game by three points. The same referee allowed the 5Th down for TJ in the Nederland game that allowed the 5 Th time out. I don't remember his name. By the way Nederland won the game against TJ anyway. The joke going around was that TJ fans didn't leave the stands after the game because they were waiting for the 5 Th quarter. lol
  19. Must be. There has been more talk about Burkville than BC and they are about 75 miles away. Surely someone has been to a practice or knows somethng they can share with us. Okay, this is the third year to run the spread and some of the players have been here since coach Stump installed it, so the team should have some experience with it. The team was better last year than the first year they used it. So I believe they should be even better this year being it is the 3 rd year for them. We went 4 & 4 last year and if the hurricane hadn't happened we would have been 5 & 5 with a possibility of being 6 & 4. We do have some key players comming back. If Menard picks up where he left off we should be okay at running back. Lemoine has a year under his belt at Quarterback and that will help. That's if our line is good. I don't know what we have comming back on the line. We do have some receivers that will be back. I heard we lost Caleb Kellog but we still should be okay.
  20. I have been reading about just about every other team in the area but very little about Bridge City. So Bridge City fans what do y'all think? Has anyone been to see a practice yet?
