Definitely think the 6A upsets of FB Hightower and Shadow Creek have to be among the biggest. Other 1 seeds losing probably unexpectedly are in 3A: Mexia losing to 3-7 Pilot Point; Joudanton losing big to Marion, and 4 seed Van Vleck beating Blanco.

If we are looking seedings, then Jasper is an upset. Jasper should be favored though.

Ned has a chance for sure. We’ve heard how good Texas is since they joined this Region. Crosby beat an undefeated Texas High two years in a row and then Terrell beat them 1st round. So, Texas has found a way to stumble. Maybe Texas overlooks the 4 seed. If Ned brings their A game, it will be close.

Huntsville tends to give it away, not pull away. In all 3 losses, they had a 4th Qtr lead (led Brenham by 11) and then lost in the last 3 minutes of the game. Both teams starting QB’s out. So it should be interesting. These teams have never played as far as I know. But, Southern probably knows a few things about Whitehouse. He does a good job with the game plan. Huntsville using a Fr. QB. Great athlete, but he is a freshman. Probably fine if Huntsville has the lead. Not sure how it would go if they have to come from behind.

I heard they have used 4 different QB’s. I guess the one they have now must be doing ok.

This should be the biggest blowout bi-district sweep. Everybody wins by 30+.

Over the last 4 weeks, Nederland played one score games against each of their Top 4 District competitors. It’s felt like a playoff every week. That should help them in this matchup. I’m sure Texas High will be ready for them. The long travel also favors Texarkana. It could be a very close game, or Texas may roll them.

Should be one of the best 5A Region 2 games of the week.
