I think, for me, Dayton has been the team most exceeding expectations so far. I’m not sure if they are legit quite yet. Wins over Crosby and KP were impressive. KP had just beaten Montgomery the prior week before Dayton beat them by 43. Dayton and Montgomery square off next week and that will be a huge game for pecking order. PNG’s 3-0 start with a win over LP has to be the District favorite. I don’t see Huntsville beating them. Huntsville has new coaches and schemes still to work out. Their 2 losses were against really good teams and I think they will be fine. Definitely don’t want to count out Lake Creek. The loss of their QB and RB was huge but I think they are still a solid team. They should challenge for a playoff spot. Ned will be in the mix. They need to find some offense but could challenge. West Fork also capable of pulling an upset. Splendora will be the caboose. We’ll see what happens with the Dayton/Montgomery game but I’ll say right now: 1. PNG, 2. Huntsville, 3. Dayton, 4. Montgomery, 5. Lake Creek, 6. Ned, 7. West Fork, 8. Splendora

I actually can’t believe the game was that close.

Great ball game. Cedar Park scored the first 3 times they had the ball and went up 22-7. Huntsville defense mostly held them after that. Huntsville had a 4th and goal from the 1 in the 4th Qtr and was stopped. Huntsville fumble in OT ended it.

Really surprised by this score. I thought this was a pretty even game. Dayton should have a chance for playoffs if they can stay healthy.

Looks like Lake Creek blew an 18-0 4th Qtr lead and lost 19-18.

We’ll see if SOC can pull another upset this week with Duncanville.

Nederland will probably play better, but definitely WOS. Maybe not a blowout though.

Surprising that Crosby lost this matchup last year. Don’t see it happening again. Crosby by 17.

PNG by a TD is probably about right. Decent 6A team and the gap has probably closed a bit from last year. Should be a good ballgame.

Burton also has a nice new stadium with turf. Huge upgrade from that old one.

I can’t believe this. With the timing of this happening the week before the 1st game, I wonder what the story is here. Brenham is pretty loaded this year and they were talking deep playoff run. They are probably the only team that can beat Randle in Region 3 and Dixon is a big reason why. My Huntsville Hornets might now have a chance in Week 1.
