  1. Player of the Game Baytown Lee senior running back Ja’Kenan Davis, the primary ball carrier for the Ganders, rushed for 257 yards on 24 carries, including a 46-yard touchdown. Ganders rushed for over 300 yards tonight.
  2. I was afraid of that. Didn't look like the guy was handling the camera very well. Stayed on his phone a lot.
  3. That and the Tecmo Bowl reference pretty much sealed it for showing my age. lol
  4. It was me. Thanks 85.
  5. District still goes thru Silsbee.

  8. Some kids (not knowing any better) just a few years ago gave it that nickname. Most older, more mature folks do not acknowledge that name.
  9. Think it's a stupid name too. Bunch of kids call it that. Most adults don't.
  10. Just telling you what Coach Smith said. Scott was considering it knowing that he would get a return game next year if they met in playoffs. It was considered and talked about.
  11. That's because Coach Smith refused to play at ancient Abe Martin in Lufkin. Said he would never play there again if he had the choice. Word is that he almost had Carthage talked into playing in Silsbee.
  12. I have seen many a College Station game over the past few years. Their style of play is not conducive to "blow" teams out.
  13. I had the names mixed up.
  14. No. You looking for locker room wall material?
  15. Jackson was out before the Carthage game. Was in a boot on sideline for Silsbee game.
  16. Due to a scheduling conflict, the Hardin-Jefferson at Beaumont West Brook game for this Friday has been canceled.
  17. Jackson hasn't played all year.
  18. BTW, the Hawks and Tigers are 2-2 in the last 4 meetings. Just in case some Hawk fans were wondering.
  19. 2 DI linemen. One has been out all season.
  20. He played. He doesn't play football.
  21. Harris kid played. Miller still out with injury. Others playing football.
  22. I attended this game. Memorial not what they have been, that's for sure. West Brook much better than I thought they would be. My next rankings will reflect from this result.
  23. Everyone knew that Silsbee would be a little down this year, even when they get all their players in a couple of weeks. But you couple that with the fact that Silsbee is missing anywhere from 8-10 varsity players right now, this result was to be expected. I spoke with Coach Davis a month or so ago about this game and he had a good idea about this game. He told me he really wished they could have played later in the season but this was really the only time he and Joe could get a date to play. It is what it is. Personally, I think HJ has the better team even when Silsbee has all their players and would win that game as well. Just not in the fashion they did last night. Most folks with any knowledge of the game would know this. These are not excuses, just facts. And if one chooses to make the result a reflection on the coaching abilities of the two men, so be it. But last night wasn't a fair fight and it showed. I have been saying it for a few months now, better get your licks in on Silsbee this year while you can. Starting next year, things will be back to Silsbee dominance again.
