  1. Copied this from someone's post on Facebook. I'm not pro-murdering babies. I'm pro-Becky who found out at her 20-week anatomy scan that the infant she had been so excited to bring into this world had developed without life sustaining organs. I'm pro-Susan who was sexually assaulted on her way home from work, only to come to the horrific realization that her assailant planted his seed in her when she got a positive pregnancy test result a month later. I'm pro-Theresa who hemorrhaged due to a placental abruption, causing her parents, spouse, and children to have to make the impossible decision on whether to save her or her unborn child. I'm pro-little Cathy who had her innocence ripped away from her by someone she should have been able to trust and her 11-year-old body isn't mature enough to bear the consequence of that betrayal. I'm pro-Melissa who's working two jobs just to make ends meet and has to choose between bringing another child into poverty or feeding the children she already has because her spouse walked out on her. I'm pro-Brittany who realizes that she is in no way financially, emotionally, or physically able to raise a child. I'm pro-Emily who went through IVF, ending up with SIX viable implanted eggs requiring selective reduction to ensure the safety of her and a SAFE number of fetuses. I'm pro-Jessica who is FINALLY getting the strength to get away from her physically abusive spouse only to find out that she is carrying the monster's child. I'm pro-Vanessa who went into her confirmation appointment after YEARS of trying to conceive only to hear silence where there should be a heartbeat. I'm pro-Lindsay who lost her virginity in her sophomore year with a broken condom and now has to choose whether to be a teenage mom or just a teenager. I'm pro-Courtney who just found out she's already 13 weeks along, but the egg never made it out of her fallopian tube so either she terminates the pregnancy or risks dying from internal bleeding. You can argue and say that I'm pro-choice all you want, but the truth is: I'm pro-life. Their lives. Women's lives. You don't get to pick and choose which scenarios should be accepted. It's not about which stories you don't agree with. It's about fighting for the women in the stories that you do agree with and the CHOICE that was made. Women's rights are meant to protect ALL women, regardless of their situation! Overturning Roe does not stop abortions, it stops SAFE abortions! Abortion is healthcare. Like I stated above, I really don't have a side. I see both. I don't think this law should be broad stroked. Should be fine point. I don't agree with all abortions but I don't agree with anti abortion. It's a tough decision.
  2. Another scenario. A child (10, 11, 12, 13 years old) is raped and becomes pregnant and it is very evident that she is not able to carry the baby full term without a high high risk of both losing their lives. How should that be handled?
  3. What should a woman do if she becomes pregnant from a rape? I really don't have a side with this issue but just wanting to hear some thoughts on that particular situation.
  4. I suppose when someone takes over those duties. With Grad in heaven and me retired, that is a good question.
  5. Yes indeed. Now hoping they get Barnes in the latter rounds.
  6. I was fine with the Texan picks. Getting those extra picks from Philly will help their other needs.
  7. I think you mean "help" lead. Clay Davis is still the head coach at HJ. Buna will probably still require the coach to coach football. That may or may not be a deal breaker with some.
  8. It's not that shocking. Braelon Bush will be transferring to Lamar. Happy for Braelon but that certainly doesn't put Lamar dancing, even though they are going back to SLC.
  9. You said Lamar would be dancing in 2022.
  10. So inaccurate. But not surprised coming from you.
  11. A little story about the brothers Pat and Mark. One day in the weight room at the field house at Silsbee High School, Pat was about to attempt to break the school squat record. (don't remember what the weight was at the time). Several kids were getting all excited about it and gathered around to watch the attempt. Pat was successful and the kids erupted with joy. One of them ran outside and saw Mark walking by and told him his brother just set the new school squat record. Mark came in to join the celebration and saw the bar still set up with the record breaking weight. He walked up, got under the bar and squatted it twice. The coach saw this and asked if he would like to be on the power lifting team. The rest is history. Pat was a senior and Mark was a freshman.
  12. He was one of the original admins over there but did not start the site. He left that site years ago.
  13. Correct. He was a sophomore.
  14. That was his freshmen year.
  15. I thought he was better than decent. He was recruited by several big schools not just A&M.
  16. Patrick is his older brother. Started at nose guard for Texas A&M. He was '6"2 290. Held all the power lifting records at Silsbee until his "little" brother came along and smashed them.
  17. Lost to #19 Silsbee
  18. Elliot is one of my 3 I was referring to.
  19. There are 2-3 players that I could see on 2nd team over Akhtar and Parker.
  20. Another reason why we do not do All SETXsports teams here any longer. Just too many teams in our coverage area to try to put a team together. A little easier to do a BE Super Gold as they only consider their reader coverage area schools. But I tend to agree, the teams are usually spot on.
  21. Personally, I've only complained when Dontre Thomas didn't win the offensive award. Really thought he deserved it with his numbers. Many "non" Silsbee fans thought the same. All other years I had no complaint. I also believe the "complaining" being blown out proportion. Not nearly like what some are posting. I actually believe it's mainly been just one or two Silsbee fans. I am a voter and I did vote Miller as one of my finalists but was not surprised when he didn't make finalists. It's rare for a soph. WR to make finalists. I would have had no problem with Vidor's Smith making finalists. I did not vote for him (it was close for me with the LCM DE) but Smith is just as deserving with his numbers. The WRS award is not participated as much as it use to be. Some area coaches did not nominate players this year. As voters, we can only vote for players that are nominated. PA Memorial's Sanders is an obvious omission. He would have definitely made my four finalists and probably would have been my choice for the offensive winner. It is what it is.
  22. Sanders would have definitely made my four finalists
  23. Retired as an admin but still will be around some. I just know who some of the members are from the past. Got a pretty good relationship with area coaches. That I am not retired from.
