Many moons. District has been pretty much dominated by East Chambers and/or Kountze the last couple of decades.

Dodge announced his retirement to start in May. If he has put in his paperwork with TRS, then he cannot draw a salary from any school district in the state of Texas. He would have to "sit out" a year before he could draw a salary from a Texas school district. At least, that's how I understand it. He could have put off the retirement in order to be hired or his hiring is under an independent contractor. Not really sure how all this works for a coach or admin. My wife retired last May as a teacher and she could only work as an independent contractor for a Texas ISD and it had to be a job where a regular employee could not do. Otherwise that person would be considered an employee of the school district. She will have to sit out a year and then can hire back into a Texas ISD and be an employee and receive a salary and benefits. Not sure what Dodge will fall under.

21 regular season games with a max of 3 tourneys. If a team is under that then they can play a warm up. I actually think we will see several seed/play in games for some of our local districts. -

Well, I have been an admin on this site since 2006 (16 years, site started in Dec. 2005) and I have seen many accounts on this site be folks who claim have never had an account. As a regular member, you do not have the access that we admins have here in checking out accounts on this site so you really DON'T KNOW. Can only take their word. Again, I am not saying who has an account or not has one but you simply cannot state YOU KNOW and call it fact unless you have access to those accounts. bullets has access and has done some research. I would tend to agree with him before I take your word. -

Exactly. Win 110-100 or 15-10. Whatever works best for that team to be successful. -
From KFDM's Angel San Juan: I just talked to PN-G ISD superintendent Mike Gonzales, who says the district has hired legendary high school and college football coach Todd Dodge as a consultant to help PN-G in its search for a new football coach. Dr. Gonzales says, once a new coach is selected, Dodge has agreed to stay on as a mentor for one year to the new PN-G coach. Dodge, 58, is a Port Arthur native, who played quarterback for the University of Texas in Austin. He is currently the head coach at Westlake High School in Austin, he will retire from there at the end of the month. Gonzales says PN-G ISD could not hire Dodge as coach since he has decided to retire, but Gonzales says "We were able to hire the best to help us find the best." Gonzales says up until this point, there have been 36 applicants for the top coaching job, he says applications will be accepted through Thursday afternoon.

Curious as to how you know this to be FACT? Not saying he has an account here but how do you know this to be fact? Only admins on this site would know that status. -

Actually, if Huffman beats HF, I can see a three way tie for 2-4 with HH, HF and Livingston, assuming Huffman beats Livingston as well. Each team would likely finish 8-4 and 1-1 against each other. I believe the three teams would have seed games to determine 2-4. I don't believe neither team would concede or flip. Pretty sure neither team wants the 4th seed. -
Correct. I was told it was his wife's birthday and a party had been planned for sometime. Also, I believe the vote would have been 5-2 had he been in attendance.

After watching this game on TL this morning, I would have to agree with Bird33. It wasn't Nederland who stalled. Like he stated, if there was a shot clock (thank goodness there isn't) United would have been in violation way more times than Nederland. United sat back after Nederland decided to go zone which I have no problem with. But let's be accurate. It was United who slowed the game down, not Nederland. -
