  1. Then why start your post with the quote "only 9 points, Kelly is pretty good this year"? That tells me you are excited about them losing to Kelly therefore why I took your congrats towards Kelly for Orangefield.
  2. and my point Bobcat05 is that Orangefield should be past the point of being congratulated for losing a game by 9 points to Kelly. I saw the Bobcats play HJ in the EC tourney, and quite frankly I was disappointed in Orangefield. I was expecting more from them.
  3. I like East Chambers chances of getting in the playoffs. I saw them early in the year and they were really struggling. After seeing them at their tournament a few days ago, they have improved and look to be getting better as the season progresses. Coach Andrews will have them ready for district play.
  4. Silsbee beat them by 22.
  5. I can't really argue your point, short, since the Briuns won the game. I will say though that Silsbee has played much better earlier in the year against better opponents. The Tigers are in a bit of a slump right now. I thought the better team lost.
  6. The 29th is fine. I just thought it would be better to do it on a night that there were no games being played. There are a lot of people that attend, work, coach or play these basketball games that would like to attend this meet the poster dinner.
  7. I guess you realize that the 30th is a Friday night. There will be a lot of District basketball being played that night, both boys and girls. I will be broadcasting a game that night along with a couple of other members broadcasting other games that night which will eliminate the owner of this site to be able to attend because he will have to be back in the studio to produce the games. What about the following night, the 31st?
  8. When does an umpire deem it necessary to change the strike zone in the middle of a game? and I am not talking Little League. :
  9. Josh Skinner has a full ride to Rice in football(defensive end). He has been told by Coach Graham that he'll have an opportunity to walk'on the baseball team.
  10. We'll see what kind of response Saveat gets from his team now that he is head coach. Also, Ozen has not played a game since that Dec. 19th game against Nederland, Boutte's last game. It will have been 18 days since the Panthers have played a game, we'll see what kind of rust they'll have. Livingston will be tough at home. This will be a good test for Ozen under their new coach. Ozen 56 Livingston 50
  11. This game will be interesting. Silsbee beat Kelly earlier in the year by 22, was actually up by more than 30 at one time. Now I am curious to see where we stand now. I think the Tigers take this one, but by no more than 4 points. ST4life is right, we have to have more production from other players to win this one.
  12. I will say this, yes the host team will set up the bracket to give themselves a good chance to make the finals, everyone does that. BUT, when I saw the brackets to this tourney, I saw an obvious advantage for BH, one that I think went too far in providing them access to the final. Yes, they did beat the team that adavanced from the lower(better) bracket in the final, but that team played more games against way better opponents which I believe took a lot of energy from them. If you'll look at what teams finished in 2nd, 3rd, and consolation champ, you'll see that all of them came from the lower(better) bracket. In fact, the two teams that played for 3rd place, came from the lower bracket. There were 13 teams in this tournament, but yet it was split 5 and 8. Five teams in top bracket, 8 teams in bottom. Of those 5 teams in the top bracket, only BH had a winning record. All the teams in the bottom bracket except for Dayton, had winning records, with the state ranked teams( Silsbee and Cleveland) being down there. Too me, that's just way too obvious. I can see why some teams have turned their nose up to this tournament. I doubt you'll see Silsbee nor Cleveland come back to this one.
  13. No prob. I know the feeling.
  14. I did not leave off Thadeus Holden, he was already mentioned in the post above mine. I was posting some of the Tiger players that weren't mentioned.
  15. We had 3,017 members join the site in the last 5 months, averaging over 600 a month, 144 a week, and 20 a day. What a way to end the year!!!! Thanks so much for all your participation.

  17. A few more Silsbee Tiger college players: Lloyd McArthur Delton Harper Ferrell Artis Lewis Arline Darryl Phillips Dexter Wallace Damion Bush Darrell Gardener There are others. Not bad for a small school.
  18. Actually they started the road trip on November 28th so it has only been 1 month and 4 days Master T!!!!!!! :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D But, if you count the days between each home game, it will be 52 days. So basically they will have gone a month and a half without a home game. Too long in my opinion.
  19. I totally agree, the lighting in there is terrible. I could hardly read my roster sheets while broadcasting the game.
  20. First of all, according to our records, West Brook is now 6-11, not 6-14. As for this game, West Brook played very well. I talked to Coach Simon after the game and he said this was the Briuns best game so far this season. West Brooks record is a little decieving as they have played a very tough schedule so far. Donte Lopez was on his game today, hitting several three's including those 3 down the stretch that kept Brook in the game. His penetration caused Silsbee some problems. Whittington was hot from outside also, hitting 4 three's, including the game winner at the buzzer. West Brook nailed 11 three's in the game total, out of 16 attempts. That was the difference. I look for West Brook to play well the rest of the season. Silsbee played better than they have the last couple of games, but still seem a little slow on the defensive end. Shannon was on his game today, hitting some clutch shots and getting to the line on his drive attempts. Shannon was money at the freethrow line, hitting 10 in a row, but failed to make the crucial 2 with 7 seconds left in overtime that probably would have won it for the Tigers. Silsbee losing Thomas and Hill to fouls down the stretch was costly too. West Brook's zone press caused some problems for Silsbee late in the game, denying Shannon the ball and causing some turnovers by the other Tiger players. Silsbee missed several point blank shots, something that has been a nemesis to the Tigers all season. This was a game the Tigers could and should have won. Silsbee still looks like a team that is tired of playing on the road and with 2 more road games still to come, Kelly and Newton next week, they may be in for some more disappointment. Lazeek, this little slump that Silsbee is going through right now can only remind me of a couple of years ago when HJ went through a mini slump when they lost Donahoe for a game or two, losing three in a row. The Hawks got back on the right track and went on to a state championship. I am hoping for the same with Silsbee. BTW, the schedule is correct according to the Silsbee coaching staff. Silsbee plays @Kelly Tuesday night, then @Newton Friday night. Newton plays @HJ the following Tuesday night, the 13th.
  21. Game will tip off at 2:55pm. Broadcast will start at 2:50pm.
