I will admit (and I have already in another thread) that I may have been a little too harsh in my comments on the administration at BISD. But, like short said, this particular subject is a definite blackeye on the district, ain't no denying that. I will say this though. My personal dealings with BISD has left me unimpressed with their administration. I have to deal with many of the local school districts in working out the arrangements for broadcasting games. The ONLY school district that was difficult to work with was BISD. It seemed every time I called to the administration building, it seemed one person didn't know what the other was doing. No one could give me a direct answer. All the other school districts that I have dealt with were pretty swift and decisive on what info I needed and who to contact. They were more than helpful. I found that working with BISD, that I had to go to the campus admins to get any answers and still they would mostly refer me back to the district administration. It was a circus most of the time. Like I said, these are just my personal dealings with BISD. I know that there are some very quality people that work for this district, but I am not so sure of the top dogs. You guys can now continue your debate on HJ vs. BISD in athletics.

Looking at how the scouting services are ranking Silsbee's Jeremy Johnson, one could say he is the best since 2000. He still has his senior year to go, but I don't recall any area QB since 2000 being ranked 14th nationally and 5th in the state at the QB position.

One word, "Ike".

No. Neither team made the regional finals.

**Silsbee vs H-J Updates....Silsbee Wins!!!!**

I still say the Tigers are two years away. You are right, Silsbee only loses one senior, but they have no juniors on the team. It will be a team without seniors. -
He has made just over $300,000 this year. Joey, I would hope that you will have made much more than that in your lifetime.

I thank you for at least giving me Mini Tour credit. ;D But, I ain't skeered, bring it. ;D

Chris had 11 birdies in his first(and only) two rounds in New Orleans this week. But, he also had 3 double bogeys and 6 bogeys to go with those birdies to miss the cut by 2 strokes. Way too inconsistant this week.

Like the great philosopher Yogi Berra once said, " It ain't over till it's over."

Again, one of those "Can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen" things. Look, there is no need to leave the site, just ask DV. ;D See, now I can just laugh at those kinda comments (grimmacing) Relax hoops 123....You know the court thing was kind of funny! Kind of?? I thought we had a pretty funny thing going there.

HJ COACHES vs. SILSBEE COACHES - - THIS SATURDAY`
AggiesAreWe replied to hjhawks's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Yes. Don't drive into the lane too fast, you'll get a ticket. Also, expect the refs to be in the cops back pocket. ;D -
As I step down from the stand, I slyly walk by the prosecutor(Nos) with my hand out. ;D

Once again I dont know that you can blanket that statement on BISD. First of all that would never happen under Boutte's watch. NEVER. Its all dependant upon whatthe coaching staff will tolerate and I KNOW that type of behavior is not tolerated by him or me either, for that matter. Boutte had to discipline him earlier in the year for some things, but I just dont think it was due to lack of respect for adults. I watched him kick his BEST player off of the team at Lincoln for disrespecting a teacher on campus and ended up at state without him. So I think its all up to the staff in place, and not really the district unless the infractions are truly that serious...This about Frank is all hearsay at this point. If you read the threads, the job WAS offered to Savaet last Thursday. BISD just allowed politics to get in the way due to the discontent of a few people in the loop...Maybe 1 or 2 to be exact. Give me a break, I just know a lot of people, I used to work in that district, at that school.... I am not on the BISD board! (thank God for that! ) Hmmm, these statements lead me to believe that contrary to what you have said, DV, that Saveat may not be the best fit for Ozen. If he cannot handle this type player, he shouldn't have the reigns to this team.

hoops123, the only question you had in your original post was wondering how the student was zoned in HJ. You did not ask if he was living in Beaumont, you stated that he lives in Beaumont. Therefore, the response.

CHUUURCH!!! Yes brotha Lazeek! Tell it like it is!!!!
-
"I want the truth!" "You can't handle the truth!!!!"
-
The gauntlet has been thrown down!!!! Care for rebuttal, hoops123?
-
THAT would settle it then....Should be no more questions asked about that one. Agreed!
-
d. frank is a program killer he needs to leave dosent go to class ,cusses teachers, etc... I am sorry to hear, but that is exactly what I have been told by several people in the know at Ozen about this kid.

Good luck! Oh, do you care to elaborate on what 5 public high schools you are talking about? Thats no secret...Waltrip, Washington, Eisenhower, Reagan, and Lamar.....Then about another 5 miles away you have Kashmere, Scarborough and Aldine and not far from that you could also possibly lure a WHEATLEY kid or two... ...I am ALL OVER IT, too! I dont even want the MAIN guys, really, either....Just the ones who may not be happy about their place in the line up or program..... 8) I want to get some NUMBERS, then turn them into some QUALITY TAPPS depth! Man Bluedove, you were way off on your list of schools. You sure you're from Houston?

I am pretty sure that Coach Foreman had Dan Ray's blessing on what he chose to talk about in that interview. Was it unprofessional? That's debatable. I can see how some would think it was if the interview went from giving kudos to the athletes in what they have accomplished already to spouting off on the school district and it's falicies. I didn't think it went that way, personally. I got to get to know Coach Foreman at the 21-3A track meet and I came away very impressed. He has about 8-9 phenomenal athletes over there but he also has coached them very well and has utilized each one to better enhance the team as a whole. Super job, Toby. I am looking forward to covering the WOS team along with the other local school's regional qualifiers at the regional and hopefully the state meets.

Yep, 95. When you do as much basketball as I do, it adds up. I have done as much as 4 basketball games in one day. Plus doing the baseball/softball games of the week the last two years helps to the count. I have done only 24 football games, the rest basketball and baseball/softball.
