Trust me, my wife has been right behind me sanitizing the house. She has confined me to our bedroom. I got the laptop in bed with me.

That's okay, I'll just take another Tiger victory against the Hawks, if I live that long.

All I know is I have had the flu before, but nothing like this. The last two days I have been out for the count. It started right when the Super Bowl started, I ended up missing the entire second half because I was out of it. Been running fever ever since. Hopefully I'll be back up to par by Friday night.

Thanks, Kerry. I am gonna try and stay up to listen to the game, but with all this medication I am taking, I may not make it.

This is so stupid. What some of you(Coop :) aren't looking at is the effect on other parts of the state, we can't just look at our area when considering this. If you have to travel more than 2 hours just for a district game, then there is something wrong with the system. Unless the UIL and the State of Texas is going to offer lower budget schools some grants that they can use for travel expense, then this won't fly. When school boards and sups look at the travel expenses that they will incur with this type realignment, they'll shoot it down instantly. They are about balancing budgets, not getting more wins on a football field. The "numbers" do not carry that much weight. :

None of yall HJ fans have room to talk.......... I have been on SETXSPORTS.COM for about 4 or 5 years now and never have I seen an HJ fan give a care in the world about Silsbee......... So why should I lie and say that HJ is good when I know that the team they have this year is not as good as the teams they have had in the past 4 years........ I have always been a Tiger fan so how am I riding on the coat tail ??? I got news for you, the website is only 3 years and 2 months old. It was started in Dec. '05, so I don't know where you're getting this 4-5 years deal. Just checked your registration date, you became a member on Feb. 26, 2007. You haven't made 2 years yet.

exactly... HJ has a very good team, but a few HJ fans want to attribute this loss to an off-night and foul trouble. AAW, you took the words right out of my mouth. Silsbee's tenacious defense caused the hawks' poor shooting, and their explosive offense cause the hawks to get into foul trouble. Enough with the "if this", "if that". If silsbee's team wasn't so dang good, HJ would've won. How does that sound? Now HJ is certainly good enough to hang with silsbee, and the way they cut that lead down at the end was proof. But no more excuses or justifications. Silsbee is the team to beat this year. I couldn't agree with you more, bullets. I believe that HJ is very capable of beating Silsbee. But I strongly believe that if Silsbee plays their best, then HJ's best still will not be good enough to win.

That's all well and good. But did you ever think that the reason the Hawks shots weren't falling was because of the defense that the Tigers were putting on them? Silsbee contested just about every shot that HJ put up. They either had a hand in the face, blocked or altered 90% of HJ's shot attempts. Silsbee's on-ball defense was the reason for the Hawks poor shooting.

HJ loses starters Benard and Burrell, they return '6"0 Turner, '5"7 Gustafson and '6"3 Ricossa. HJ also loses Klages and Spell, Klages being one of their top reserves. The Hawks return '5"9 Sutherland, '6"0 Venable, '6"0 Weldon, '6"2 Nobles, and recently brought up '6"2 Anderson. Silsbee loses starters Robinson and Walters, they return '5"9 Hill, '6"4 Stallworth and '6"2 Lane. Silsbee also loses Byars, Archer and Skinner, with Byars being a crucial reserve that will graduate. Silsbee has '6"6 Thomas, '6"6 Barnes and '6"2 Harris returning for them. Of the HJ returnee's 5 are juniors, 3 are soph. Of the Silsbee returnee's, 2 are juniors, 4 are soph.

Gerry, first let me say I do appreciate what the Silsbee Bee does for Silsbee athletics. You guys cover the Tigers very well and I am grateful for what you and Danny do there at our hometown paper. I do understand the monetary aspect of it all. I have to deal with it here at this site when doing our broadcasts. But I felt that this game was big enough to be above that, and I think should have been covered.

I didn't say we were playing well. But if you call for his head after 5 games is just dumb. Yeah he hasn't made the best decisions, but not all coaches get it right. Look at #4 Wake coming off a win over the #1 team in the nation and they lost to Georgia Tech, who was winless in the ACC, I wonder if their fans were calling for the coaches head after then. I don't think anyone is calling for Roc's head after 5 games. If I am not mistaken, Roc has been here for more than 5 games.

No offense taken, Bobcat05. I totally understand your questions, they are legit. But from what I gathered, these two schools tried to get their refs two weeks prior and was put on hold. To me it is very suspicious.
