  1. That may be a problem. He may not be able to play basketball until late in district play, if at all. All depends on when he enrolls in school.
  2. Silsbee had this sitiuation a few years ago with a couple of players. Ashton Hall was to have played for Silsbee since he actually lived with his mother in Silsbee( they live two houses down from my parents, my dad talks to Ashton all the time) but Kountze and another school in Silsbee's district fought it and Ashton ened up playing his senior year in Kountze. The other player was a football player. Adrian Peterson (yes that Adrian Peterson) moved to Silsbee with his mother the summer before his senior year and it looked as though he would enroll at Silsbee. But Palestine's coaches convinced his mother into letting him live with one of the coaches so that he could finish there at Palestine. It's all about establishing legal residence but you can't transfer for just athletic reasons.
  3. Texas Stadium is a wind tunnel, remember how cold the 77 state game was? It was very cold and really only so because of the wind that whipped through that sorry stadium.
  4. I just do them Louisiana Game wardens like ole Justin Wilson used to do them. I just hand'em a stick of lit dynomite and ask them, "Hey, you gonna talk or fish?"
  5. How about a new pressbox? Please, please tell me they have a new pressbox or at least a better one on the visitors side. That one is just a firecracker stand with one 40 watt bulb in it.
  6. I just took a look over there at that site. The Farmer guy looks to be getting the best of WOS87. By those pics that were put up, I would have to agree that the Carroll-Trinity game had just as much if not more than the Plano-PNG game of '77. BTW, I attended that PNG game in '77. I was 13 years old and remember two things about that game. One, I was amazed at the amount of people that both schools had at this game and two, how bad Texas Stadium was compared to the Dome. It really wasn't that great of a stadium.
  7. Good question. Because of changing district? All he has to do is establish a legal residence with in KISD, which shouldn't be a problem since he has lived there before.
  8. PNG has played in 5. Newton and WOS has played in 4. Newton and PNG has won the most state titles with 3.
  9. Are you saying he can or cannot return to Ozen? WBbear, I personally spoke with Marquis and Decarlos this past weekend at the Silsbee tourney, they both told me he was coming back.
  10. Oh, and Silsbee has that beat as far as the food and beverages are concerned. 5 meals( shrimp boil, burgers, fried catfish, BBQ, and the famous Father's Day Fried Chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans) and mixed drinks along with the beer, soda, gatorade and water. Also we have a dance, game night, and a very special entertainment on the first night to get things rolling, if you know what I mean.
  11. Like I said, best 2 man tournament around. What was the payout for the championship flight and the other flights?
  12. Correction, best 2 man tourney in Southeast Texas. Silsbee has players from those cities too, but also from several other states. ;D
  13. This part of your post: I look for an interesting year in hoops this year. On paper Silsbee seems to be the team the beat and the athletes as they did last year.................OF has the experience and it is very tough to play in OF..................HJ what they always have and that is basketball players and coaching
  14. I agree with some of that. But, I will predict that Silsbee wins district outright and they will not be scared by Orangefield. Trust me, those days are over regarding the Bobcats. What I saw from them in the tourney this past weekend shouldn't scare the Tigers.
  15. Who said anything about making Kountze the favorite? Show me the post that said that.
  16. I agree. But HJ still has that coaching staff, which IMO, is second to none.
  17. Sean is 6'2'', 235. He runs a 4.7 forty and a 4.1 shuttle. He powercleans 315, benches 305, and squats around 450. Incredible pass rusher who will definatley have a breakout season this next year. Explosive, aggressive, powerful, and quick. Watch this kid. Thanks for that info, Sean.
  18. I did mention in my first post on this thread that both teams should be considered 1a and 1b. (of course Silsbee would be 1a) ;D
  19. We beat them by 11. Silsbee and Cleveland split both games last Saturday. Silsbee gets the nod because of the point spread. ;D ;D
  20. According to what I was told at the Silsbee Summer Tournament, Franks will be at Ozen this coming year. That info came from several folks at Ozen, including Saveat and Franks himself.
  21. No caps, last warning.
  22. Uh, THEBRAIN, it is against the rules to use all caps. Have you ever read the rules for this messageboard?
  23. Good question. ;D
