  1. I'll give the Hecklers their due, they are very good at what they do. But as far as high school basketball crazies go, Kingwood tops them all. Go to one of their games and you will see what I am talking about.
  2. You're just so condescending, aren't you?
  3. Actually, that wasn't the case. The Super Bowl betting ended up at 65% for the Pats. That was the official Vegas numbers. That's not taking in consideration of "other" betting that went on.
  4. Now betting has moved to 80% in favor of Silsbee. If this was paramutual betting, Silsbee would be a 4/5 favorite. The Vegas line would definetly move off of giving the -4.
  5. Livingston @ Ozen (-4 1/2) LCM @ Central (-8 1/2) Vidor @ Lumberton (-5 1/2) Nederland @ PNG (-3 1/2) Bridge City (-8 1/2) @ Hamshire-Fannett Silsbee @ Hardin-Jefferson (-4 1/2) WOS (-3 1/2) @ Orangefield Anahuac (-8 1/2) @ East Chambers Warren @ Deweyville (-11 1/2) Kountze (-40 1/2) @ Hardin
  6. Well, right now, 77% of the bets have Silsbee. If this was a real Vegas line, you would probably see it change. If we were at the tracks, Silsbee would be about a 5-2 odds on favorite.
  7. Silsbee vs Bmt Hebert..IMO was more intense than this rivalry...We just did not have away of talking about...no internet ;D ;D I agree. Our senior year when we played Hebert the first time around in district, Hebert was ranked #1 in 4A, we were #4. Silsbee won that game 49-47. In the second game, Silsbee was #2 in state, Hebert was #3, but Hebert won that one, 56-53. We had to have a one game playoff to see who would go to the playoffs( back then, only one team went to the playoffs ) and Hebert took that one in the Beaumont Civic Center, 62-58. Hebert went on to win the state championship that year. Fred Williams, the coach for Hebert, was quoted in the Austin-American Statesman after winning the title, that he felt the best team in the state was still back at home, meaning Silsbee. :'(
  8. No question, I would do the same. ;D
  9. So the stating of facts is slanted talk? : If the stats would have been turned around, I still would have posted them. I have done it before and it did not matter to me how it looked to one team or the other. Are there other stats that I should have posted that would make HJ shine brighter? Please tell me so that I can add them.
  10. I'll be there at 5pm setting up the broadcast table. Then I'll sit back and chow down on my free link and coke. ;D After you started that thread this morning you will be lucky to even get in the door......much less get a free drink and link!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D I'll get in. I got friends in low places. ;D As for the free food, not much I can do about welched bets, except send Rocko and Bif over to collect. ;D

  12. i don't put much stock into that stat Of course not. do you? No.
  13. I am just throwing out some stats, Lazeek. Don't be so paranoid. Quit looking for a conspiracy. : Not paranoid...........just wondering why some of the stats you are throwing out have no relevancy to the game. Who cares that Silsbee has played three 5A teams. Who cares that HJ has played nine 2A teams in their last 16 games. The other stats I like and are relevant to the game. These two however are not. You are trying to justify the fact that Silsbee has 6 losses and are trying to run down the fact that HJ is 27-4 into the ground by implying that they have played nobody!!!! I still love you man, but this is not necessary. Like I said at the end of my original post, none of it is necessary and is no determining factor of the outcome of the game. I am not trying to knock anyone here. I am just trying to be informative and build up the game more.

  15. So are you implying that I don't come on this site and talk smack? I think you can go back over my posts and see that I have stated that I believe Silsbee will beat HJ. I have said it on numerous occasions, here and other sites. No biggie. ;D
  16. Right now, the picks for the Silsbee-HJ game stands at: HJ 4 picks Silsbee 16 picks Interesting??
  17. I will be over in Sour Lake tomorrow night bringing you this marquee match up of two state ranked teams in the #8 Silsbee Tigers and #11 Hardin-Jefferson Hawks. These two teams come in undefeated in 21-3A district play(4-0) and each look to gain sole possesion of first place and the inside track to a district championship. This is one of the most anticipated games in all of Southeast Texas and we will bring you all the play-by-play action right here at Setxsports. Just to give some perspective about these two teams, here are some interesting stats for all you stat lovers to look at: Records HJ 27-4 Silsbee 17-6 Record head to head last 2 years HJ leads 4-3 Opponents Records HJ 352-278 avg. 14-11 winning pct. .560 Silsbee 337-216 avg. 16-10 winning pct. .610 State Ranked teams faced HJ 6 2A Kountze 82-64 win 2A Sabine 67-53 win, 54-52 win 3A L. The stats mean nothing, you have to play the game. This should be another great game and everyone should make an attempt to come see it. If not, you can catch all the action right here, starting with pregame at 7:00, with a tipoff around 7:30. Mike Sanchez, Tiger Sports and Setxsports.com broadcaster
  18. It is my understanding that Brooks wants to get out of coaching entirely. He wants to pursue administration. I was also told that it could be as soon as next fall, but there was no definite decision yet.
  19. I'll sum it up by saying I just don't think Lamar is as good as we thought they were going to be. When you play no defense, you are subject to lose to most teams, good or bad. Lazeek, I have never thought Roc was a good x's and o's coach. I have said that from his first year, but gave him the benefit of the doubt that he would get better. It hasn't happened. Roc may be a good recruiter and motivator, but a good gameday coach he is not. His decisions during the game baffle me sometimes.
  20. I will have a broadcast thread put up tomorrow night. I will give my thoughts on this game in that thread. But, here is my prediction: Silsbee 67 HJ 58
