  1. Don't waist your time answering speveto Aggie. No matter what you say he is going to say the opposite. Ignore, Ignore Ignore. I agree. Just don't like having words put in my mouth.
  2. I don't ever recall saying that winning a district championship was not that big a deal. All championships are important, including district titles.
  3. I think we were lucky to get out of there with a win and I'm sure most will agree with that.Silsbee always plays us tuff and are always in the game at the end.I see no reason that will change this year.Matter of fact they came so close to beating the mighty Stangs they really beleive...so buckle up the chin straps,it's going to be a war again. Great post. I could not agree any more. This should be a dandy.
  4. Nah, Chapel Hill will be there along with Jasper.
  5. Hey CATMAN, has things lined out over there at Big Sandy? I know Coach Foster had to deal with some discipline issues with a few players last year.
  6. Not according to these projections. I think you are hoping Gilmer and Carthage do make Div. I as much as I hope they don't. ;D
  7. According to these projections, Silsbee has a great shot of making the state semi-finals. With no Gilmer or Carthage in Div. I, Silsbee is ranked higher than any other Div. I team that is projected to make the playoffs in Region III. Very interesting..... Of course I am getting WAYYYYYYY ahead of myself.
  8. I totally agree, Gas, Jeremy is a very special player and will make those around him much better. The Tigers do have some players ready to make a name for themselves too. I look for RB Chris Barnes to have a breakout year and for a couple of Silsbee's recievers to be in the top of the district standings in recieving. On defense the linebacking quartet of Bolton, Keefer, Simmons and Henry will be as good a set of linebackers in the district. Bolton is a monster, really looking for a great year from him. Like I said, this Tiger defense really reminds me of those very good WOS defenses that swarm to the ball with great speed. This is the fastest defense I have seen Silsbee have in a long time. When Silsbee and WOS square off this season, you'll see too very simular teams going at each other. This should be fun.
  9. What time does this Silsbee 3-way start? 9am, varsity at 10am. It's really not a real 3 way. Silsbee's varsity will only scrimmage Kirbyville. Silsbee's JV will scrimmage Deweyville varsity. Kirbyville varsity will scrimmage Deweyville varsity.
  10. I don't know that it is a no brainer. According to the stats from last year, Bellows had just over 1800 yards passing. Jeremy Johnson had 2,039 yards passing plus an additional 805 yards rushing. Each player threw for 18 td's. Jeremy attempted about 18-20 passes a game last year but according to the Silsbee coaches, he will attempt much more this year. I believe that Jeremy will pass for at least 2,300 yards this year. But, Bellows could too. Just don't see it as a no brainer.
  11. I will say that looks to be a very nice facility. But I agree with etbu, why such a small section of chairbacks? It looks really out of place.
  12. As of today, I have not heard of Shannon going anywhere. He did have some opportunities but chose to pass on them. I am not sure what is really going on with Shannon and the next level.
  13. Yes, Dayton and district 19-4A will be included.
  14. I agree, Gas. The problem is if MNF starts at 7pm, then we will have to start at 5:30 or 6pm to try and get a good show in. The early time is not that good, particularly if we want to get some coaches on the show and some folks are still on the road home from work. Now if they start at 8pm, that would be much better for us. We could start at 6:30 if we wanted an 1 1/2 hour show or 7pm for an hour show.
  15. dude he mus have done something wrong......... because you don't come on channel 13 and have the media beating on your front door if you are a saint. something went down otherwise why is he not coaching? trap you ate cheating over at hardin are you? ??? I believe insidetrap is a Stephenville guy, not a Hardin guy, but I could be wrong.
  16. Monday nights at Hooters may be a problem. I doubt they would want to give up too large of an area for our little preview show.
  17. Our local 1A's look to be a bit down this year. No team in top 40 with Evadale having the best regional rank at #13. No Hull-Daisetta in any ranking. Again, good work TexasHSFootball. I appreciate what you do.
  18. We will be doing our weekly preview show again this year. Gabe and I have narrowed it down to either Monday or Wednesday nights. Tuesday and Thursday is out due to volleyball and freshman and JV games. Which night out of those two do you guys think will work best? We do not know if this will be a call in show yet. We are also looking into doing these shows at some local establishments that way we can get some questions and comments on the show that way. If we do not do a call in show, we will have it set up for you to post your questions and comments on a thread for us to read and answer on air. Please, give us your feedback on which night that you would think would be the best night. Thanks Mike Sanchez
  19. Nice to hear. But we know the best weekly preview show will be right here on SETXsports. Gabe and I have narrowed our nights down to either Monday or Wednesday, still yet to be decided.
  20. I expect all our local newspapers to put out their guides on Sunday the 23rd, with the Examiner's to follow on the 26th. Maybe someone with a little more insight can let us know, but that's just my guess on withthose publications come out. As for the DCTF mag, I still see copies of them in my local WalMart here in Silsbee.
  21. I'm not an administrator.... One stud Quarterback does not a team make Look, we all know the history between these two teams. We are "kindly" reminded of it each year. : But I am quite sure that the WOS coaches and players have the upmost respect for Silsbee just based on how the games have gone the last few years. You talk about earning respect, well I believe Silsbee has done that. You don't necessarily have to win to earn respect. As far as this "stud QB" and all the talk that is on here about him, well it just comes with the territory. When you have a caliber of player like Jeremy is, he will get talked about. I remember a lot of talk on here about Deon and Earl, which they both deserved, and nobody had a problem with that, nor should they. Silsbee has a great opportunity to defeat WOS this year. Will they do it? That remains to be seen. All I know is, both teams respect each other greatly and this should be another great game just like the last few have been. History or no History.
  22. Obviously you don't keep up with the rcruiting services. Jeremy Johnson is the #8 ranked QB in the nation by Scout.com and #9 by Rivals. No other player in Southeast Texas is ranked that high regardless of classification. Actually the two top recruits in this area are both 3A, Johnson and WOS Haynes.
